I really wanted to enjoy this book, and I’m struggling to understand why I didn’t, at least not as much as I would of liked. It had all the elements in it that I would usually live - sexy cowboy, small children, small town - but instead it left me a bit ‘blah’

The whole story seemed a bit slow for me, with the last few chapters being the most action packed. I found it odd that Jenn never once set foot on Cades ranch, how it being about a cowboy there was very little cowboy life, I would of expected him to want her and the kids to be at his ranch and for them to work along side each other. However the story was certainly very well researched and the very small descriptions and observations added to the realism. The characters were likeable and I was really rooting for Cade and Jenn. I was unaware that this was part of a series, and when other characters were introduced I was aware that maybe I should know who they were and their back stories. Whilst that didn’t spoil the story, I think having that knowledge would have definitely enhanced my enjoyment.

For someone who likes real slow burn, slow town romance this will tick the box.

Contemporary Cowboy Romance
Langston, a rural town near Amarillo, Texas

Cade Garret learns his baby sister Sara and her husband Jason have died in an airplane crash. Her husband, Jason LaChance, was flying their plane over the Palo Duro Canyon. They owned the local airport where locals rented space, and Jason flew tourists over the canyon which is the second largest in the country. Cade is devastated and picks up Jason and Sara's children three-year-old Leo, and year-old Lissy. Cade, a confirmed bachelor, is a rancher who knows nothing about childcare, but he knows he loves them.

Jennifer LaChance flies from Dallas to Amarillo with her small dog Minnie to get her brother's children. She wants them to grow up in the Dallas house where she and Jason grew up, which she now owns since her parents' deaths a few months ago. She gave up her obsession for a Ph.D. in art to care for them in their last year of life.

Both Cade and Jennifer want the children, causing some harsh feelings and friction for Cade, especially when he learns Jason and Sara's will gives all their property and the children to Jennifer. Jennifer decides to remain in Langston until she can decide what to do with the airport and soon comes to depend on Cade, letting a mutual attraction begin to grow. Surprisingly, Minnie enjoys the children's attention, and they are obsessed with the little dog. Both Cade and Jennifer remain undecided about what to do about the airport but have interested buyers. As the two grow closer, strange things begin to occur. In FOREVER MY COWBOY strong family ties, and good, friendly neighbors create an ideal small town, but that doesn't mean everyone is decent. This introduces some mystery to the story. As the romance grows between Cade and Jennifer, danger also threatens them, creating an engaging and captivating story.

3.25/5 stars!

When the hero learns that his sister and her husband were killed in a plane accident, he immediately makes sure that his nephew and niece are in his care. When he learns that the legal guardian of the two young children is the heroine, he has mixed feelings about it due to their first meeting. Yet as time passed by, the two fall in love and learn that there was more to their siblings's deaths. Interspersed within the story are the Garrett family and some situations arising during this time.

I enjoyed the Garrett family's closeness and how wonderful they are with the young children under their care. The book also has that small-town vibe that makes it charming and makes the heroine fall in love with the place. It also helps that certain townspeople became quite close to the heroine, who really needed them in her life. I do feel like the story needed more details for a smooth transition but that's my personal preference. This is a nice addition to this Juen Faver series and I look forward to more of the characters getting their happy endings.

I’m not sure how I feel about this one. Cade and Jennifer have their lives turned upside down when their siblings are killed. Now two little children, an attraction, a murderer, and a whole lot of uncertainties. Make these two have one wild ride.

All in all it’s a decent book. I struggled with it because I didn’t really feel a connection between the two, there were multiple POVs I think were unnecessary, and sometimes it got distracting and boring.

Loved the story and the characters in this book.
Cade is a rancher from a large family. Out of no where he discovers that his sister and her husband have been killed in an accident, leaving their 3 and 1 year old children orphans. Determined to step in and raise them, he brings them home to his ranch.
Jen is devastated to learn that her brother and his wife were killed. He was her last remaining family member and she is also determined to raise his children and give them a loving home.
Can these two opposites find a neutral ground to help raise the children their siblings left behind? And what happens when it is discovered their deaths may not have been an accident?
Quick, enjoyable read. Looking forward to other books by this author.
I received an advance copy of this story in exchange for my honest review.

Cade and Jenn's story. When their siblings get killed in a plane crash, the two come together and bond over caring of the young children. Enjoyed this one, although tended to run on a bit in the middle, but that is typical of this genre. Have read other books in the series, although not in order, and was not lost reading this one. Good mystery trail trying to find the killer. Would recommend this book, series and author.

I am a big June Faver fan. I have loved her past books, This one wasn't what I am used to with this author. I liked the storyline but the story didn't really flow very well. The story was a bit disjointed and I kept getting thrown out of the story. I liked the main characters Jennifer LaChance and Cade Garrett. It was great that they fell for each other and this made for a super family for little Lissy and Leo. It's always great to read about Big Jim and all the Garretts so that was a good part of the story.

In general, I liked the premise of the story. However, some of the monologue and dialogue was pretty redundant throughout the book. Growing up in a small town myself, I think the book did a really nice, accurate job portraying the essence of family and sense of community from a small town perspective. She also really drew me in to care for the characters. Although this book isn't my absolute favorite, it's definitely worth a read!

I enjoyed this addition to the Garrett family series. Cade gets his happily ever after also. Jenn deserves some happiness in her life. The Garrett's show her all the love that comes from being part of the family.

Let me start off by saying I did finish reading this one. Barely. I loved the storyline. But I had a hard time staying interested in the actual story.

Sometimes a girl just needs to read about a hunky cowboy to round out a holiday weekend. Cade is described as a major babe with piercing blue eyes. I’m good with that. The premise of the book has been done many times, but it still works. Two cute kids left as orphans and the aunt and uncle from both sides step in. Jenn cried a lot in the story and was indecisive. I was annoyed by how many times they were asked about selling the airstrip. I still like Big Jim the best in this series. Don’t mess with him or Texas.

Emotional start to this story, Jenn and Cade meet following the death of her only brother and his sister is a murderous plane crash, the will states Jenn is responsible for the 2 kiddies but share the outcome of the airstrip, a relationship with the whole Garrett Family is a great bonus for lonely Jenn, and Cade’s feelings change toward her, an attempt made on Jenny’s life seals her place in the Family. Great story with potential for many spin-off books.
