I loved the characters and the storyline development of this book. It was absolutely one of my favorites so far and I can't wait to delve in to the next one that this author writes. The storyline was simple, enjoyable, and entertaining.

A MacCallister Christmas is another great read by William W. Johnstone. It was a bonus that it is, also, a story set during the Holidays.

A great book. Perfect to curl up with on a cold, cold night. Enjoy a cup of tea or cocoa and lose yourself in the story.

Duff Maccallister is planning to spend his holidays with his family in America. However, it may take a bit for them to arrive and arrive safely. When the train that his twin cousins, Andrew and Rosanna, is on is held up, trouble comes from all over. Two gangs gunning for revenge plus a young woman who wants her own vengeance make for an interesting trip. Meanwhile Falcon, who is coming by horseback, runs into his own difficulties. Will the family get to spend Christmas together or will revenge be had? I love how these characters interact with one another. I love books set at Christmas and this was no exception. Duff and his family are truly men and women of honor. I look forward to more in the series. I received a copy through Netgalley. A review was not required.

The 10th stand alone Christmas themed Johnstone western has the same quality hallmarks as every one of their titles. Each book carries multiple threads that will eventually come together to reinforce the western spirit of Christmas. A MACCALLISTER CHRISTMAS centers on Duff Mac Callister, a tough man who immigrated from Scotland many years ago. He worked and fought hard, settling in Wyoming where he has built a family dynasty. This year there Duff will be joined by some of the younger generation of MacCallisters on his ranch in Chugwater. But first they will have many adventures that bring to life the everyday challenge of living in an era that is responsible for taming and settling this wild frontier.

This is a perfect example of a well written story, no matter the genre. The Johnstone name is famous for giving their fans a true wild west adventure while telling the stories of their many well known and loved characters. This title is for anyone who loves westerns, Christmas stories of families coming together to celebrate or just an old fashioned good guys against the bad guys tale.

Another visit to Chugwater Wyoming and a meeting With Duff MacCallister. The story starts and ends in Scotland although I would have liked a connection with the tourists there. Duff is a great creation from the house of Johnstone. I am seldom dissapointed with this series and this is no exception. I am thankful to #Netgalley #KensingtonBooks and #Pinnacle for letting me read this book. Keep them coming.

would like to thank netgalley and the publisher for letting me read this charming cowboy christmas book

it has the elements of a good christmas book with a western feel about it..made me want to eat beans and sausages....and a good cup of coffee....

what train ride in a western isnt held up by outlaws...and the repercussions of this train ride are felt for years after...

but this story begins in scotland with a young american couple visiting scotland and its there the story being with the young man making the aquaintence of the old man who tells him the story of drew macallister

i think i have found another genre and author that i like....

This was my first ever historical cowboy book and I quite enjoyed it. There are many members of the MacCallister family spread over America and some still back in Scotland. We meet Duff, and his cousins Falcon, Andrew and Rosanna. Andrew and Rosanna are on their way to the town of Chugwater by train, along with a young Scottish lady (who says she knew Duff when he lived in Scotland and were good friends). The train is held up by a notorious gang of outlaws and they take not only the belongings of the people on the train but the young Scottish lady as well. Meanwhile Falcon is traveling solo and comes across two wagons being set upon. He manages to shoot as many as he can of the outlaws and the rest run away. The only person left alive is a baby boy. Falcon takes him with him.
The story runs on three levels, firstly Duff and his friends plus local law enforcement go after the outlaws to bring the young lady back to Chugwater. Another layer is who is the Scottish lady who says she knew Duff from back in Scotland. The next layer is about Falcon and all that he encounters on his way to Chugwater. Finally, there is Andrew and Rosanna (both actors) deciding to put on a production of A Christmas Carol in Chugwater and the locals having parts.
It was a well written story, with engaging characters. I did enjoy it but as it was my first time reading a historical cowboy story I found the pace slower than I am used to. I would recommend it.
