A joyful, if blindingly obvious, little read for joyful little readers. Our hero decides he is lacking cake, and wants to host a cake party with a humongous concoction for all his friends. That is, until all the invites get blown off his dad's balcony. So nobody will respond, and he'll be building this monstrosity on the kitchen floor – never putting it in the oven, mind – in vain. Won't he? The plot and visuals conspire to make you convinced the creator doesn't know how to make a cake, but books are a different matter. This is a very pleasant and whimsical one, and while it might not have that must-re-read quality, is certainly a success.

Adorable illustrations- I love that Dad has tattoos and knits! Colorful and bright without being eye watering.
Cute story about sharing, even when the unexpected happens.
Overall, 5/5 stars!

If you are looking for a fun, quick read to your child, then this is the right choice! This book talks about a little kid called Robert who is trying to throw a big cake party, he prepared for the party, made some invitations, when some trouble came by. Oh! What is he going to do? I will leave that to you to find out ;)
The illustrations are beautiful, so colorful, and eye-catching. I read it with my little cousin, and she loved it! She even gave it 5 out of 5 ratings. The outstanding, diverse characters are the most things she liked.

I recommend it for children age 4-6.
