This contemporary romance and family "drama" wasn't for me. There really wasn't any drama because all of the characters had on rose colored glasses, were intuitive and understand with calm, rational outlooks. Everything fell into place perfectly, it was all very easy. The characters were sickeningly sweet, there was no angst. Overall, this was uneventful.

This was the 6th in a series so I was worried that I would struggle to follow along. I didn’t! It was a cute book and just what I was looking for in a Christmas book this year! **Free copy in exchange for my opinion from NetGalley.**

Wynn has a happy life. She has her son, her friends, and a successful business. But she wants more. Her hunky neighbor asks for help getting his house ready for his pregnant daughter and everything changes. ARC from NetGalley.

Cute Chrismtas story that feels cheesy, yet has some depth at the same time. I love the unconditional love that a parent has for a child is very much a prominent theme in this story. It's refreshing while so many Christmas books focus more on finding romantic love....and of course, there was that too! A great balanced story!

I was instantly hooked when I started Happily This Christmas! It is fast paced and so heart-warming, the perfect book to read to get in the holiday spirit. I loved the characters and different perspectives we got with Wynn, Garrick, and Joylyn. And it's not set just during Christmastime but we also get to read about their Thanksgiving which was lovely.

While there was a lot of lack of communication which can get monotonous and annoying at times with other books, Mallery handles the internal battles of her characters really well and didn't let them stew on their issues too much. There were times when I felt Joylyn and Wynn were overly dramatic about certain situations but other than that, I enjoyed just about everything this book had to offer. Especially the budding romance between Wynn and Garrick.

Another lovely element to this book was friendship and a sense of community which seems to be a big deal at Happily Inc. I'll definitely be reading more of these!

What a cute Christmas book! Main character Wynn is a put together, successful single Mom who is thriving in her life with her teenage son. The only thing lacking is love. She happens to have a serious crush on her next door neighbour Garrick. He enlists her help to get his house ready for his pregnant daughter to come and stay. Of course, with the amount of time spent together, a romance develops.

I really enjoyed the characters and the story. It was very much centered around family and I loved all of the different relationships. This book had a little bit of everything. There was romance, with a little bit of steam, a small dose of family drama and as it took place around the holidays, there were plenty of fun Christmas traditions. It felt like a Hallmark movie.

My only complaint is that the ending seemed extremely rushed. Everything came together in what felt like only a few pages. I wished for a little bit more to tie everything together nicely but overall, it was a good read.

this was a fun romance read, with interesting characters that I enjoyed getting to know. The story was well done and I enjoyed the way the author writes a tale.

This was my first Susan Mallory book. I’m not sure if jumping into the series 6 books in affected my reading experience, but while it was a sweet and easy read, it’s not a book or that I think I’ll be revisiting.

This is a Christmas Romance book, and this is the 6st book in the Happy Inc series. I was so happy to be in Happy Inc again. I have read most the other books in this series, but I do not think a have posted reviews for them. Susan Mallery is one of my favorite authors. This book was a fun and cute Christmas book. It had romance, drama, and most everything I want in a Christmas love story. The only thing I want more was more of the story. I wish it did not end when it did. I loved the characters of this book like I do all of Susan's books. I was kindly provided an e-copy of this book by the publisher (HQN Books) or author (Susan Mallery) via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review about how I feel about this book, and I want to send a big Thank you to them for that.

Between a main character who’s a cop and a strange opening with Wynn cutting into a neighbor and the hero she hardly know for thinking he had a pregnant 21 year old girlfriend, this book didn’t work for me. Thank you for the opportunity to read and review this book.

I am a huge Susan Mallery fan and always enjoy her books. The Happily, Inc. series has been a great replacement for the Fool's Gold series that has ended.

Happily This Christmas is book 6 in the series. Our main characters in this one are Wynn and Garrick. We know Wynn best from her role in the previous books in the series. I like her character because she is an independent women and doesn't need a man. She's in a place in her life and the type of person now where finding love is a bonus and not a necessity.

Garrick is a local cop and well respected in the community. But he's a divorced father of an adult daughter who he has been estranged from in recent years. His daughter will be staying with him for a few weeks and he's hoping it's a chance to get back on track with her. But he has no idea how to prepare for her visit or make things right. Luckily, his neighbor Wynn is a great resource to help.

This is a story about two independent people developing a friendship and finding love along the way. It is an enjoyable journey and Susan Mallery fans will not be disappointed.

Christmas is a great time of year for a book of reconnections, coming together, and overcoming misunderstandings. It's also a great time of year for romance to sneak right up on you. I haven't read the other books in this series, but I didn't have any problem falling into the story, and all the characters were interesting and added something to the story, which is always a bonus. I don't feel like there were any throwaway characters in this one. Of course, the highlight is our romantic couple and I liked both Garrick and Wynn, and I really liked that these characters aren't new adults just figuring it all out. Nope,. they're full adults and just figuring it all out, which is pretty accurate. All in all, the story is engaging and fun, and I like this town, so I'll be looking up the earlier books in the series to get some of the other characters' stories.

You can't really go wrong with a romance by Susan Mallery. This is Book 6 in the HAPPILY INC series, and the second that I've read. Each book in the series stands alone, but it's nice to return to a familiar setting and see cameos from familiar characters.

Wynn and Garrick are next-door neighbors, both single parents in their thirties. They haven't interacted much since he moved in to his house a year earlier. While she's working up the courage to ask him out, he asks her to help make his home welcoming for his grown, pregnant daughter who's coming to stay with him while her husband is deployed.

This mix of romantic comedy and family drama is a great choice for the holiday season. Thanks, NetGalley, for the ARC I received. This is my honest and voluntary review.

Happily this Christmas is Susan Mallery's sixth novel in the Happily Inc series. This is a cute, light-hearted holiday read that really could be read at any point of the year. I am a long time fan of Susan Mallery and did enjoy the story, although I did not think it had the same depth of storyline development as her previous books. The timeline in which our main characters, Wynn and Garrick, meet, set up/decorate a house, fall in love, and get married is fairly unrealistic and felt rushed to me. I did like the loving, single parents theme that was woven throughout the story. It was so nice to see a story where the dad is invested in improving a relationship with his daughter, even though she was a hormonal mess. I liked the mother/son closeness that Hunter and Wynn shared although, thought Wynn's reaction to a lie that Hunter told, was overly done. Besides some of these little things, that might cause an eye roll or two, readers looking for a sweet, holiday love story, will like this newest addition to the Happily Inc series. Thank you to NetGalley and the Harlequin for this digital ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Home for the Holidays
Happily This Christmas by Susan Mallery is the sixth book in the Happily Inc series, but my first by this author. I have heard her name many times however, as she is one of my mom’s favorites, so when this came across my kindle I was so excited to get my first introduction to her work. While I do think the story would benefit from having read the previous books, it is a standalone that can be appreciated by itself.

Our leading lady Wynn (how adorable is that name?) is a single mom of a young teenager who is starting to realize that it is time for her to start prioritizing her needs and venture back into the dating scene. Coincidentally around this same time her gorgeous neighbor Garrick begs mercy that she help him prepare to host his estranged, pregnant daughter whose husband is deployed. His daughter Joylyn is less than pleased to spend time with the father that she feels abandoned her as a young teen and makes that obvious at every opportunity. It is up to Wynn to help Garrick reconnect with his daughter so they can have the relationship they both have been missing.

From the start, the friendship between Wynn and Garrick was genuinely sweet and supportive as she helped him prepare to see his daughter that he no longer knew due to a misunderstanding years back. Their interactions were timidly flirtatious and it was a treat to see their relationship build slowly throughout the story. While Wynn may have provided incite to the female brain, Garrick was able to help her find her way through the terrifying minefield that is dealing with a teenager. They were the perfect complement to the other’s parenting style and came together as a solid team to deal with the various issues that came their way. It was obvious from reading other reviews that Joylyn was not a favorite character in this book as she came off obnoxious and entitled, but as someone who has been a young, pregnant wife with a deployed husband It wasn’t hard for me to commiserate with her pain and frustrations. People are not perfect all of the time, and this was a tiny glimpse into one of the most painful parts of her life. As she learned the truth about what happened with her father in the past she is able to come to terms with what she lost and how to move forward together with him as a family.

One thing I feel compelled to mention is that while this was set around the holidays and that was a catalyst for Wynn and Garrick getting to know each other better I would not classify this as a “Christmas book.” This was an extremely adorable friends-to-lovers that happens to occur close to Christmas. It does not make it any less of a great read, but it doesn’t give you the warm hot chocolate with marshmallow feelings you would expect to get with a Christmas themed addition to the series.

After getting brief introductions to the characters from the rest of the series throughout I am confident that I will be diving back in to get to know everyone better very soon. If you are looking for something to read over your holiday break this is definitely one to reach for.

Cute but overall predictable and forgettable romance. I enjoyed while reading and it hit the mark for a cute Christmas story.

Susan Mallery is a new author to me. When I agreed to read this book I did not realize it was the 6th in a series. Even though it was ok on its own I would have loved to have read the series from the beginning as some characters do overlap it seemed like.

That said I loved that this book is set in a town that is a wedding destination and it had a holiday theme. There is something magical about a holiday story.

I loved the characters of Wynn and Garrick. It was nice seeing two single parents bond. It was fun watching Wynn try to find ways to say HI to Garrick the policeman she has a crush on.

I enjoyed seeing these two characters grow close and heal each other.

I admit Garrick's daughter made me want to put her in time out with her whining but I soon got over that. Wynn's son I liked he reminded me a bit of my son by how responsible he was at 14.

Overall a lovely read and one I enjoy reading again but this time in the proper order.

Garrick is Winn's neighbor and she has a crush on the kind policeman but she never had the courage to approach so imagine her surprise when he shows up at her door asking for a big favor! He's the type of guy for every woman's dream but he has a complicated past with his only daughter. When he asks his sweeet neighbor Winn for help, he never imagined that he would fall in love.

Winn is a struggling single mother who lives for her amusing son Hunter. He is a 14 year old boy who does everything to make his mother's life simpler. Together they form a beautiful family that may be growing soon.

At first, it was very difficult for me to accept the arrogant and rude behavior of Garrick's daughter, Joylin, and it stopped me a bit for the story. It was only when father and daughter started to pour out their feelings and frustrations that I started to really like the story.

Susan developed the plot relationships very well and it was beautiful to follow the characters' journey of forgiveness. From the middle to the end of the book, I just couldn't put it down and at the same time didn't want it to end.

The ending was very beautiful with all the points of conflict resolving and making me sigh.

A story filled with characters you will love and can relate to. A single mother, a Divorced Dad living next story. It’s meant to be. These two people help each other out through parenting trials and tribulations while falling in love. A great set of friends round out the characters. The holiday season, a pregnant daughter, an adorable teenage son all add to the romance and magic of this book.
