Happily This Christmas is the sixth book in the Happily Inc series. However, this is the first book in this series that I have read. I believe you can still enjoy it despite not recognizing the other characters.

Wynn Beauchene is a single mother. Her son is fourteen. Lately, she has been thinking that it might be a good time to start dating again. The last time she dated was before she conceived her son. Her sexy cop neighbor fits the bill and she might need to finally make a move to get his attention. Just as she is thinking of this, her doorbell rings and Mr. Cop is at her front door.

GarrickMcCabe is in need of help, his very pregnant estranged daughter is coming to stay with him and he wants to make his house homier. Enlisting the help of Wynn is a no-brainer. More so, once he starts getting to know her, he begins thinking that they could make a good couple. Her humor, her relationship with her son, her dedication to her work are all things he admires in her. It doesn't hurt that he also likes the way she looks.

Can Garrick patch the problems with his daughter? Do Garrick and Wynn want to take the next step to become more? Well, maybe the Christmas spirit can help this couple.

This is a perfect romance to read during the Christmas season!

Susan Mallery's novels are always charming and sweet. They are set in small towns. Every time I read one of her books, I think how lovely it would be to live in a small town where everyone knows each other and people are helpful to their neighbors. Of course, who knows if this type of town actually does exist. I hope it does.

Cliffhanger: No

This was a decent story. I liked the characters and the bones of the story. I ran into some issues with some phrasing that I found played out really stereotypical and kind of took away from my enjoyment of this book.
Overall an okay read I'll have to read another Susan Mallery book to see if this is an issue that carries through.

Thank you to netgalley and the publishers for providing me with an arc for an honest review.

Have you been reading the Happily Inc. series? If so this is your next book. A easy, enjoyable book that continues the series with the characters. As with all the Happily, Inc. stories - its basically a feel good story without having to examine the characters or settings to get involved in the story.

Small-town charm prevails in Happily Inc! Wynn is a successful single mother to a teenage boy named Hunter. Her life is fulfilled in every aspect, except the love department. Garrick is her next door neighbor, a police officer, and single. He seeks Wynn’s help to get his house ready for when his pregnant daughter arrives. This book has a little bit of drama, a lotta romance, and is dripping in Christmas traditions. My only qualm about this one is how rushed the ending was. I, perhaps, just wanted to stay in Happily Inc for a little bit longer.

Garrick is going to need help decorating his house making his house welcoming for his now pregnant daughter who he hasn't seeing a long while. Wynn has a crush on her neighbor Garrick and is happy to help Garrick out giving his place a womanly touch to make his daughter comfortable.

Such a cute book I really enjoyed this. If you are looking for a christmasy book to read for the holiday season that isn't too much but around the time then check out this book. It doesn't scream holiday but there are small holiday things that go on. I usually go for the romances when it comes to the contemporary books but this time around I very much prefer the family's aspect of it. Father and daughter were pretty tense. The daughters was an angry teen and didn't need her father and pushed him away, wanting to respect her wishing Garrick listens and didn't push her. It was interesting seeing how they rebuilt their relationship this time around. Then there was the romance with Wynn that I enjoyed watching. I loved the small town life that was going on in this book people helping eachother and being supportive it was cute. Overall pretty good book I really enjoyed it.

Happily This Christmas by Susan Mallery is a great romance that once again brings together old and new friends of Happily Inc. Being set in the Christmas season makes it even more special

Garrick's 21-year-old pregnant daughter is coming to stay with him while her husband is deployed. He asks his next-door neighbor Wynn to help make his house comfortable for Joylyn's stay. Garrick and Wynn become friends and then move into an easy, slow romance. At the same time, Wynn befriends Joylyn and helps her through the later parts of her pregnancy since she does not have any friends in town and her husband is away.

I always marvel at how well Ms. Mallery writes the interactions between her characters and this story is another good example of this. These two neighboring households grow closer over the course of the holiday season. As with pretty much every book I've read by Susan Mallery, I felt invested in these characters' lives. Happily This Christmas is set over the Thanksgiving and Christmas season, and I enjoyed the meals and decorations that were written into the story.

I read this book in its entirety in one sitting while the rest of my family was out of the house. This is actually the sixth in the Happily, Inc. series, but worked really well as a starting point for me since I haven't read any of the previous books. I liked the supporting characters in this story, so I'm eager to go back and start this series from the beginning.

This was a feel good, albeit predictable, romance novel. I am falling more and more in love with Susan Mallery's writing. Her characters are so likeable and very relatable. This one will definitely get you in the holiday spirit!

I wish I had read the previous 5 books in this series before grabbing this one, as I feel like I missed out a little bit on the background info. While I wasn't completely lost, I would have really enjoyed getting to know everyone before starting this storyline.

I also appreciate that Susan writes romance novels that feature older characters. She always writes these relationships in a respectful manner and I appreciate that there is less focus on the sexual aspect and more on the friendship to romance evolution.

Thank you for my eARC- I really enjoyed this one!

Happily This Christmas by Susan Mallery takes us back to the town of Happily Inc and it was so great to catch up with characters from other book in this series. This is a Christmas story and we get the story of 34 year old Wynn Beauchene, a single mom to fourteen year old Hunter.

She has a crush on her neighbor, Garrick McCabe. When he asks for her help Wynn sees this as her opportunity to get to know him better and maybe find out if he is attracted to her as well. Joylyn is his daughter and she is VERY pregnant and missing her husband.

This is a story about the holidays and finding your place in the world and family and friendship and most of all love. This is a great addition to the Happily Inc series and I really enjoyed reading it.

This was such a good read and really it delivered everything you could want in a holiday themed book. Wynn and Garrick's tale is about mistakes, regrets, forgiveness and familial and romantic love. There was lot of genuineness and a high level of relatability about this book. I thought that this made it very easy to connect with and sympathize with the characters. Very enjoyable.

4.75 Hearts Happily, Inc (and Fool’s Gold) are my favorite places to visit. Susan Mallery is honestly one of my favorite authors. She pulls me in before I have finished the first page. And this book is no different. Especially for the holidays!

Ok so let’s say it out right. This is a holiday romance so we know with the magic of the holidays Mallery will give us a HEA. But this isn’t about the ending but about the getting there. In this novel Wynn has been secretly in love with Garrick for a while. And now he could use his help when his daughter comes to town.

I really like all the characters in the story. Wynn and Garrick are so sweet together They both need each other but have no idea how or why. And then they both have a child and they need Wynn and Garrick too. And of course the people of the town make visiting Happily, Inc a great place to spend the holidays.

There is no way to read a Susan Mallery book and not love it. I could go into all the wonderful things in this book but there are too many.

The Happily Inc series just got a new holiday story that is really cute. It is always nice to return to loved setting and revisit characters you have become invested in. This book can stand alone or can be read as part of the series. No matter what you choose, you can't go wrong with books by Susan Mallery. Her holiday books are especially pleasing and comfy.

I love Susan Mallery's books, and I was excited to see that she had a new Happily, Inc. book -- this one special for the Christmas holiday! Like all her books, the characters are super relatable and very well developed. Even her secondary characters are well drawn and add so much to her stories. This author manages to create a very romantic story without sacrificing the very realistic and sympathetic portrayal of some typical family issues the characters are dealing with.

Fantastic story of love, family, and forgiveness. I have looked forward to Wynn's story ever since she ended her relationship with Jasper. Wynn is one of those people who always seem to have their life together - organized, successful, a great mom, and a terrific friend. I loved getting to know her better and discovering that it wasn't always that way. Wynn spent years feeling guilty and punishing herself for something she did and has just begun to forgive herself. One of the benefits of that forgiveness is permitting herself to have a crush on the man next door.

Garrick grew up in Happily Inc., got his high school girlfriend pregnant, and left to go to college. He remained friends with the girlfriend and was an active participant is raising their daughter. He became a cop, married and divorced, and did some undercover work. After his last assignment went wrong, he wanted something a little less intense and returned to Happily Inc. with an eye toward becoming the police chief when the current one retires. His relationship with his daughter is strained, but he jumps at the chance for her to stay with him for a few weeks. She's very pregnant, and her Marine husband is deployed. Garrick hopes to find a way to repair their relationship. But first, he needs help to get his house ready for her. The first person he thinks of is his next-door neighbor.

I loved the way this book started. Wynn is drooling over her neighbor and trying to figure out how to indicate her interest when Garrick shows up on her doorstep. Her willingness to help him is typical of Happily Inc. residents, but she also looks at it as an opportunity to get to know him. It was great to see how quickly Wynn and Garrick became friends. I loved the mix of humor and seriousness in their interactions as they give each other advice and support. Underneath the easy friendship are sparks of attraction that intensify the more time they spend together. It was fun to see the buildup as family obligations crop up at inconvenient times. It is easy to see the feelings between them grow, but both have past issues that hold them back. I liked Wynn's honest look at her past, acceptance of her mistakes, and realization that it was okay to forgive herself and move on. What surprised her was what she wanted in her life now. Garrick has a more challenging time of it. He is convinced that he stinks at relationships, that any time he tries commitment, something always goes wrong. Those fears come to the surface when he offers to help Wynn with what she wants. He is so utterly oblivious to what he said/did wrong that I almost felt more sorry for him than mad at him. He earned every bit of his misery. It was great to see Wynn's son, Hunter, call him out on what he did. The reactions of his friends were even better, and I enjoyed seeing them point out his idiocy. The scene in Wynn's office was great, and Christmas morning showed the promise for their future.

Besides the romance between Garrick and Wynn, this is also a terrific story about family. In earlier books, we've seen the close relationship between Wynn and her son Hunter. It is easy to see the love, respect, and trust between them. It is quite a blow to Wynn when Hunter abuses that trust, and I ached for her and the pain she felt. I loved that Garrick was there for support without trying to fix the problem. I ached for Hunter, too, as he realized how badly he had messed up. I was impressed with how both Wynn and Hunter handled the matter.

Garrick's family problems are more complicated. He had a terrific relationship with his daughter, Joylyn, until she was fifteen. Then it went wrong, and he has no idea why. I hurt for him and his pain and confusion over her attitude and actions. When the book started, I heartily disliked Joylyn. She acted like a spoiled brat to her mother and brothers, which got her booted to her dad's for the last month of her pregnancy. She was obnoxious to Garrick when she arrived in Happily Inc. when all he wanted was to make her happy. I liked seeing Wynn call her out on her attitude and how Hunter befriended her while also pointing out how good she has it. I liked how Wynn encouraged Garrick to be patient, but also to confront Joylyn about what had happened. It was a slow process, but I liked seeing the progression. I felt that the whole process was realistically portrayed. I laughed out loud when Garrick volunteered to go to her birthing classes with her. His reactions were priceless.

I ended up liking Joylyn, though her attitude at the beginning irritated me. As more came out about what caused the rift, I understood her feelings. I could see that she also missed her old relationship with Garrick but didn't know what to do. In addition to her problems with him, Joylyn also felt cut off from her life. She misses her husband intensely and realizes that she made a mistake when she moved home rather than stay on base with her friends and support. As her relationship with Garrick improved, she also got more involved in the Happily Inc. community. I loved how Wynn's friends included Joylyn in their activities. One of the best parts of the book is when Joylyn asks for their help when her best friend and her fiancé (both Marines) want to get married. The way they all worked together to pull off an amazing event was incredible and heartwarming.

There were many places in the book that made me laugh or cry, but this was one of my favorite parts, about guys liking shopping:

Wynn: "Oh, please. If you did, you'd have more stuff in your house. Most guys don't like shopping, which I've never understood. All you have to do is pretend you're hunting. You stalk, you pounce, you strap it to the car and take it home. A total win, but men don't see it that way."

Garrick: "There are a lot of gross generalizations in those few sentences."

Wynn: "I'll admit that's true, but how many of them are wrong?"

Garrick: "Not as many as I'd like."

Ugh, I had no reason not to give this book a 5 star rating. 🌟 It was everything that I love about holiday romances: love, hope, and giving. This book was the perfect blend of them all. Plus, I adore single parent based novels.

This is such a beautiful story. It is expertly written, giving grace to both Wynn and Garrick. Wynn is one of the most loving characters in this book, and she is one of the more favorite characters that I have read lately. I hope you love her as much as I do.

This was my first Susan Mallery book that I’ve ever read surprisingly, and I can’t wait to get my hands on more of her novels. 🙌🏻

Wynn seems to balance the demands of her career, being a single mother to her teenaged son Hunter and being a loyal friend with ease but there are certain parts of her past that she hasn’t been able to overcome. She has been attracted to Garrick, her neighbor, for a while but has never mustered the courage to approach him so when he comes to her looking for assistance it seems like the perfect way to get to know him.

Garrick is a police officer who has recently relocated to Happily Inc. for the lifestyle that it brings. As a teenager Garrick found himself a father to his daughter Jolyn so even though they didn’t live together they were close when she was a child, but it changed as she grew older. Now that she will be staying with him for the final month of her pregnancy he is hoping that this will be the opportunity to recapture the relationship they shared and he wants their visit to be perfect and that means ensuring her room is makes her feel at home which is where Wynn comes in.

As Garrick and Wynn spend time together their friendship develops into something deeper as they support each other through all the challenges they must face and realize that love and family are the greatest gifts of all.

Wynn Beauchene is amazing mom and friend. I am in awe of this heroine and I am so happy to get her story. Wynn has a brilliant mind with a huge heart, she has grown in her own way over the years. Is she ready to try her hand at love?

Garrick McCabe needed a change, what better place then Happily Inc. As the police captain of Happily Inc he come to care for this town and his neighbors, including the sexy single mother next door.

Garrick and Wynn are a wonderful mix. I enjoyed their friendship from the beginning, the easy way they had with one another. The question is when the times right will they find themselves on the same page? I adore the easy flow with these characters, you feel their struggles from their past and watch the grow from that. Well done Ms. Mallery.

The supporting characters are from the previous books in the Happily Inc Series, as well as a few new characters as well. I enjoy seeing everyone grow as much as I enjoy getting to know new characters. The question I have Ms. Mallery is well there be more books in the Happily Inc Series?

Happily This Christmas is a story of healing, community, friendships, family and finding happiness with the chance of finding love. The story of Wynn who has been spying on her neighbour Garrick, who have approach her for help. His pregnant daughter is coming to stay with him and he need as much as possible to furnish his house for the daughter who doesn’t want to stay with him. Wynn has unknowingly become his confidante and their relationship has develop beyond what they intended to. As the story developed, Wynn discover that what she wanted in life is different from what Garrick have in mind..

A family story that comprises of many issues and I love how these issues was addressed as the story develop. The author bring forth the issues and how it was tackle by both Wynn and Garrick is interesting to read. I love the dialogue between the characters and the way the story linked between one scene to another. Another good book from my favorite author !
