This was just ok for me. Certainly not the best Danielle Steele I’ve read. There was a lot going on and it was difficult to follow in the beginning, but I did like the ending. Thank you to netgalley for the ARC

pretty good book. Little slow to start but then it got good. Danielle Steel does it again. She never disappoints me with any of her books.

This was a great novel about how one event can change a person's life forever. Meredith had been away from everyone a long time and one event changed that forever. I love how it shows everyone lives and how they evolved. Great novel.

I am always amazed whenever I read a new novel written by Danielle Steel. She has written a plethora of novels over the years and yet still is able to come up with fresh ideas with dynamic characters and situations! I was a little lost at the beginning of Neighbors because I felt like the set up was too chaotic and quick with lots of names, characters, and background all thrown at the reader all at once, but then it settled down and was actually an intriguing read that was hard to put down. I read before I fall asleep every night and I found myself staying up very late when reading this one. I just did not want to stop! There were realistic characters with real life situations, with some glamorous icons and lifestyles intertwined, as is normal for Danielle Steel, and a multitude of drama! As I read the last sentence, the first thing that came to my mind when I was thinking about what to write for the review was “and they all lived happily ever after... thanks to the aftermath of a horrific earthquake...”

A movie star Meredith White lives as a recluse following the death of her son and divorce. She has live in help whom she doesn't know that they have been stealing from her. Her life changes after an earthquake and she invites a few neighbors to stay at her house. They become like family to her. She finds love again and reunites with her granddaughter. Another great book by Danielle Steele

I loved this book! It’s about a women who is shut off to the world and a earthquake happens and she opens up her home to her neighbors. She learns to live again. She connects with a granddaughter that she hasn’t had anything to do with because of her daughter. She leans to live again and to reach out.

I have read Danielle Steel's books since I was a teenager -- so for about 30 years now. I enjoyed Neighbors.
The book centers around a group of neighbors who come together after an earthquake effects their homes in San Francisco. The neighbors consist of Meredith (a prior famous actress who is pretty much a recluse for years after suffering a tragedy in her life and also she has a couple who live with her who take care of her day to day needs that have pretty much taken over her life); Andrew (a surgeon) and Tyla and their two kids; Arthur ( famous blind pianist and his caregiver helper, Peter); another rich neighbor and his girlfriend. I enjoyed the plot and twists in this book. A special thank you to NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine for giving me early access to this book in return for my review of this book.

The last few Danielle Steel books I read seemed so negative and dragged. While this book repeated itself several times, as so many of hers do, I did enjoy the story and looked forward to seeing what would happen. I felt it was one of her better novels. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an advanced copy.

Thanks NetGalley, Random house publishing group and the author Danielle Steel for my advance digital copy.

From the time i read the synopsis, i was hooked. A story that has the scope of weaving together multiple storylines at the wake of an adversity is sure to be a treat for readers. But sadly it didn't quite hit the spot for me. This is an out and out women's fiction in every angle and the stories of different women and their hardships is sure to make you sympathize with them. Steele does a fantastic job in dealing with issues like grief, isolation and domestic abuse. The multiple stories all were distinct in their own way and it was more than interesting to see them come together under one roof after the calamity and see their relationship unfold but only some stood out to me than others. Some parts of the story got a bit monotonous and repetitive. The caretakers in the story are a great reminder of how evil , people can get when they see someone vulnerable and to what heights they would go to manipulate their weakness. Though the story involves multiple characters, Meredith was the one that stood out to me. Her growth from being a recluse to opening her home and heart to absolute strangers in an earnest effort to rekindle some kind of familial connection to fill the void of her loss was gratifying. Steele's efforts at bringing the best in humanity is something that will strike a chord with the readers.

Any time I pick up a Danielle Steel book, it goes without saying that the experience of characters she develops is ultra-satisfying and engaging. This tale is no different. Through this story, we see characters brought together by the kind of bond and relationship that often forms instantly after a shared moment of heightened emotion. In this case, it is a tragedy resulting from the chaos ensued by a natural disaster, an earthquake. The characters and the many dramatic facets of their individual lives experience an unforgettable experience in which I felt lots of emotions as the many twists and acts of love throughout began to draw them together. This is not a story you will soon forget. In fact, the overarching themes of courage and, above all, kindness, are what this world could use a little more of! Well done, as always!

I live how Meredith got a second Chauncey at happiness and those out to hurt her got what was coming to them! Such an engaging book! Thank you!

I loved Danielle Steels latest novel, Neighbors.
This family and friendship drama is well written with wonderful character development. The story follows the lives of the residents of a suburban San Francisco neighborhood- after a devastating earthquake. While some subject matter may be triggering, the story of life after tragedy, new friendships and love new and old is like balm for the soul. A great read. 4 stars

Neighbors is a book that unites different walks of life as they become friends and family. Life happened and strangers all gather for comfort and solace at Meredith's house, which wasn't affected. They help each other get out of their current situations while realizing what life is truly about. And to think its all because of an earthquake! Thanks to Netgalley for this advance copy. #netgalley #neighbors

This was kind of a departure from the glamour that usually accompanies a Danielle Steel. It was slow at time, but enjoyable.

I have read almost all of Danielle Steel’s books over the years and have enjoyed them — some more than others. I particularly enjoyed this book because it dealt with the lives of four different main groups of people and how they interwove with each other. Even dealing with the four different groups it was easy to follow each group. It was funny in some parts, sad in others but it worked out well in the end. I enjoyed reading this book and I will definitely recommend it to others.

Neighbors is a perfect book to escape from reality for a few hours. I loved the characters and family dynamics that Danielle Steel is a master at playing out in her novels.

Once again I feel the need to gush over the wonderful characters Danielle Steel creates and even though this book has a deadly earthquake in it which is what brings all these wonderful characters together, by the end of the story it feels like an endearing fairytale!
