Fun fast paced thriller that I couldn't put down. Will definitely try more from this author. Writing was enjoyable and easy to read.

My Darling is a wonderfully creepy thriller that will keep your attention until the very end. The chapters are brief, but revealing, and the plot is very engaging and moves along well.

At it heart, Amanda Robson's My Darling is a story about love, in all it's forms and what happens to people when they make mistakes in love. The story of Alistair, Jade, Tomas, and Emma, neighbors outside of London who experience tragedy differs from the classic who-dunnit. You already know who commits the crimes, Robson's book is much more interested in explaining the how and the why. Robson's experience with forensics knowledge comes in handy as her characters go above and beyond to get their lovers and themselves out of trouble. While it can become a bit convoluted at time, the structure of the book. told in alternating chapters by different characters is particularly refreshing. As is the ending, when you realize that the events of the story were just the beginning.

Thank you NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

The light contrast on the cover caught my eye. And I think the title was fitting.

It was a dark thriller that left you wanting to read more. I honestly couldn't put it down and wanted to finish it all in one sitting. You won't believe what happened.

I'll definitely be looking out for other work by this author.

This book was a freakin trip! I loved it! The audiobook narration was perfect for this as well.

This story was put together so well, with a lot of crazy and a lot of wtf. I enjoyed every suspenseful moment of it. Let's just say I would not want a neighbor like that. There were so many ups and downs and twisted goodness.

Some people might find the book a bit log winded at times, the pacing was between slow to medum. But I think it worked well for this book. You get enough details to hold your interest while waiting to find out what is going to happen. The "friendships" were interesting to see play out.

I will definitely be reading more books from this author very soon!

Thank you to Netgalley and Avon for a copy of this title in exchange for an honest review

How much do you trust your new neighbors?

When a new family moves in, the couple next door watch very carefully. Thinking the neighbors might be friendly, they're invited to a dinner party ... a great way to introduce yourself to learn about your new potential friends.

But then the mistrust starts in ... does she want my husband? Is my husband cheating on me? I confided in you and this is how you repay me?

Someone has a plan ... a deadly plan. This will not continue....

This is well written with short chapters full of suspense, angst, mistrust, suspicion, lies and secrets. Twists and turns are in abundance .... who tells the truth ... who lies? The characters are well-defined, intriguing. Like an accident on the side of the rod, it's hard not to look.

Many thanks to the author / Avon Books UK / Harper 360 / Netgalley for the digital copy of this psychological drama. Read and reviewed voluntarily, opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.

Thanks to NetGalley, publisher and author for kindly allowing me to red this book, in exchange for my review. The premise of this book was very interesting. A couple that moves next door having a negative effect on another couple. As I started to read I was distracted by the constant change of narrators. Lots of chapters, some very short. I did not connect with the characters or the story. The narrating style was not to my liking, unfortunately.

This book was well written with suspense and twists. This book has wonderful character development and you really get to know the characters, and their thoughts and feelings behind their actions. When you think that you've guessed what will happen next, you're surprised by what really does happen. This book centers around 4 main characters, next door neighbors. What will happen after their first meeting, you would never guess. I highly recommend this book as it is different from the very beginning and not predictable. The unpredictability lasts until the very end.

This book is a true rollercoaster ride, with twists and turns you never see coming. It was a bit unbelievable at times, but that didn't stop me from plowing through to find out what happens next. The characters are not very likeable, and who you dislike more seems to change with each chapter. But still, definitely worth the read.

Wow! If you like a twisty, turning, dark read, this is for you!

Jade and Tomas move in next door to Emma and NOTHING will be the same again. As you move through this book, you think what you know what will happen, the BAM! Amanda Robson throws a curve in there so fast, you have whiplash!!

The back and forth between past and present will leave you thinking you know everything, but you are so wrong. I am off to find more books by this author.

What a twisted and engrossing story! Jade character is the epitome of a paranoid woman who things Tomas is constantly cheating on her. When they move in next door to Emma and Alastair her paranoia increases.

I went give away the plot line but be prepared to climb onto a Rollercoaster once you pick up this book. There is murder, deceit, paranoia, twists and turns you won't expect. I highly recommend this read to anyone who loves a good mystery and thriller.

ARC received from Netgalley.

Picked this book up because I was intrigued by the description and thought I might like it. When I first started it I was a little put off by the short, choppy writing, but the more I read it seemed to fit perfectly. The story was told in short chapters from four different points of view. Emily, a dentist and lives alone; Emily's boyfriend Alastair, who is in forensics, divorced and trying to raise his son with the help of his Mom; Tomas, who moves in next door to Emily with his wife; and Jade, Tomas's wife, who is totally paranoid and is off her rocker.

When Jade and Tomas first move in next to Emily, Jade knows right away that Emily and Tomas will have an affair. Jade warns Emily off right off the bat - talk about paranoid! There's a murder, and lots of secrets and lies. Quite a ride!

This book blew my mind. These characters are a real mess. An intense and engrossing read and it goes from one twist to another. I never knew what was going to happen next.

Thanks to Avon Books UK through Netgalley for an advance copy.

#firstline After my last relationship, I was looking for love in all the wrong places.

What a read! This book was a crazy ride. There were so many twists and turns. I never knew quite what was going to happen. I got pulled in and read this book in one day! It was suspenseful and intriguing. There is a fine line between love and hate and you will see what happens when that line gets blurred! You will quickly be pulled into this domestic thriller and find it hard to put down.

Don't bother reading this book. It's dull the characters ages boring and the plot doesn't make sense. It's a shame I wasted time on this book.

Wow....this is one crazy thriller. I enjoyed the way the author told the story from three different perspectives. This was a very fast read for me because I couldn't put it down. I had to know what was going to happen next. There were so many unexpected twists I did not see coming. I thoroughly enjoyed this book.

My Darling by Amanda Robson The narrative jumps between characters within chapters which becomes confusing and repetitive. Not an easy writing style to read and the dysfunctional couples, Jade and Tomas and Emma and Allister were neither likable or interesting.

Thank you to the publisher, author, and NetGalley for the opportunity to preview the book.

Where to begin? Psychological thriller does not even begin to describe the twisty, deceptive mystery that is My Darling. I could not put it down and I could not figure it out. Get ready for a wild ride!

I’ll do the best I can without spoilers. Jade and her husband Tomas move into the house across the street from Emma and her boyfriend Alistair. Both couples are professionals. Jade is a retired professor, Tomas a hedge fund manager, Emma a dentist and Alistair works in a forensics lab. Their first evening to share drinks and conversation goes off the rails when Jade tells Emma “I want to warn you that my husband Tomas has a wandering eye”. Then Tomas has a dental emergency and who does he visit?

Soon we have a dead body, insanity, hidden clues and a confused police detective. There’s a solution, more dead bodies, more insanity, more solutions and a still confused police detective. What really happened? Who can you believe?

My Darling needs to come with a warning label “allow enough time to read this straight through” because that’s what you will do! Amanda Robson has an amazing, although somewhat worrisome, imagination. 5 stars.

Ok, this was crazy, like Lifetime Movie crazy, but many people will love it!

The writing style in this book annoyed some but I actually liked it. I loved the multiple viewpoints that are choppy, quick, “chapters”. These characters are something else.

The “main” plot twist is wrapped up early. This leads to mayhem, and insanity. There are so many surprises and truly unbelievable twists BUT it’s fiction.

Ok, this was crazy overall but fun and I enjoyed the writing. I would look for more by this author.
