So I really really liked this. I liked the tongue-in-cheek humor, the whole cast of characters with interesting back stories, pretty much everything. This is definitely an insta-love story - but it worked within the background. Vampire stories can be hit or miss for me - the blood stuff is always a little bit queasiness inducing. But I loved how this story acknowledged the 300 year history of the characters. Bane, who was born with a different name but doesn't remember it anymore, is a great character. At the beginning of the story we are set up to understand that he is not a nice vampire. He's angry, cold, and violent. But as we get to know him you can see how that is really just a front for a man who runs drugs (that he pays for, from Canada, for children who can't pay for it themselves) and who supports his bad ass biker club (and helps the human and non-human members alike get what they need to live their best lives). He also supports his chosen family with love - all the while pretending he's a bad guy - the villain of the story.

Ryan is a doctor and a pretty awesome person. She is hilarious and takes the entire vampire and motorcycle club thing pretty much in stride - not to mention the other things she learns along the way. I loved how tough she was. She is assertive and strong - but also gives forgiveness and second chances. She is pretty much the opposite of drama - which is good because Bane's middle name might as well be drama.

This is a great start to a series - I can't wait to read more!

I received this as an ARC from NetGalley, but these opinions are all my own.

Bane's Choice is a mythical story submerged into normal everyday human life. It has all the making of a magical read with vampires, witches, werewolves and demons. It took me seven to eight chapters to get into this read, but once I did, I enjoyed it.

Having read this author before I had no qualms about entering into this one. Mixes my two favorites together. They had it right for it is a good way to hide in among everyone as a MC. Bane is a character we want all the dirt on as we lick our lips. His attitude towards us women has to go though. Dr. Ryan gets our attention also. I do so like when he has to need her help. As these two get together we will sweat the night away and devour the story.

~ I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own ~

After few DNFs and some low rating books, I was a little worried when I've started reading Bane's choice.

That worry was smashed in bits and pieces as of chapter 1. With a slight vibe of BDB, this book puts you in the middle of the action soo smoothly that it gets you hooked right away.

I loved Ryan and Bane with their honest and believeble actions.

I can't wait for book 2!

5 stars!

Conflicted here. Eye rolls and stereotypical in many ways...

It’s gonna be a little hard to explain my thoughts surrounding this book so I’ll give it my best.

From the beginning several chapters made it seem like this book is a part of a series. I felt like I was supposed to know the characters already but I went back, looked and this is a standalone story. So it was a little tough to get into the book.

It took me probably the first quarter of the book to feel my way through but then I settled in and it started flowing nicely. I actually enjoyed several of the characters. Bane and his crew are tough and they take no grief from each other either.

And then we meet the doctor. She is an anomaly and a major part of the story which I will not spoil for you. But in some places, I really had a hard time with her character. I don’t know why. I can’t really put my finger on it.

I think for the most part she would not listen in times of strife and put others at risk to save her ass. That bothered me.

Yes, she’s tough and she supposed to show strength. But it was over the top. She talks way too much. And while she was a great balance for Bane, and I love their intense and heated connection, she really rubbed me the wrong way.

Bane and Ryan are like fire and water throughout. He is tough with pretty much no heart. She loves to tick him off and push every button she can. Passion and heat are pretty high and make up a lot in terms of the story for me.

Overall Bane's Choice is an enjoyable read, once I got over my annoyances. And it was a great diversion from what I normally read.

Bane is your typical grumpy alpha who doesn't know how to deal with his feelings. He's an interesting choice for the heroine. She is feisty and strong. Their chemistry is hot. There's a lot of world building and introduction in this book because this is the first book in a series. I did enjoy it very much. Looking forward to the next one!

Truly, I’d give this a 3.5/5.

I actually enjoyed this book. It wasn’t bad. I think Alyssa does a great job of incorporating the supernatural into the every day world. But, for me, Bane wasn’t that likable from the beginning. I’m protective of my family; he seemed to go a little overboard. Cliche from him towards Ryan at times, I thought their romance could’ve been a little more developed. I’m still left wondering- are they mates? Is that why they fell in love so quickly? I think they seemed generally attracted to each other and the steamy parts were definitely steamy. I just wish i could’ve seen them interact a little more. The good news? It definitely gave me Sons of Anarchy vibes. Bane and Ryan even reminded me a little of Jax and Tara, which I loved. The ending was a little too quickly paced for me. Overall, I did enjoy it. It’s just not the best book I’ve ever read.

**I received a copy of Bane's Choice from Entangled Publishing and Net Galley in exchange for a voluntary and honest review. My opinions are mine alone and not solicited.**

Bane's Choice by Alyssa Day is the first book of her Vampire Motorcycle Club. She's a new author to me and when I read the preview I thought MC and Vampires sounds interesting. It's that and a little bit more with a Warlocks, Werewolves and Fae thrown into the mix to make it MORE interesting but with a bit too much of the fantasy creatures. All in all it was a good read and I give it 4 stars.

Dr. Ryan St. Cloud is shocked to find out that one of her patients is now missing but the people who've taken him try some of their magic on her and it doesn't work so she sets out to find them. Little does anyone know that she's talented on her own and is clueless as to why because she's quite capable on her of taking care of herself. But can she guard her heart from Bane?

Bane knows that the Chamber and their minions are in New Orleans but why and when they start targeting all of the night creatures he'll have gather some of his own to fight them. But why do they want NOLA other than it's mysterious people?

Bane's Choice is my first book by Alyssa Day. I was very intrigued by the blurb of this book and decided to give it a chance. After reading this book I can honestly say that it was better than I expected. I'm a huge fan of MC and I loved that it incorporated my second love. Vampires. I loved Bane and Ryan so much. I hope to read more from this series.

Vampire motorcycle club, evil warlocks, and a mysterious woman with glowing skin.... what fun awaits! The story revolves around Bane, a 300+ vampire who runs a motorcycle club, who runs into the mysterious doctor Ryan who’s skin is positively glowing and for some strange reason he can’t compel her. Add crazy murderous warlocks on the loose and a dying friend who is being turned into a vampire... and all hell ensues. Bane can’t seem to get Ryan out of his head and decides: hey, why not just bring her along? The chemistry and dynamic between the two characters is really fun and I liked that you could read from both character’s perspectives. The story was fun and filled with action. The stakes were high and honestly, I loved reading it! I loved all the side characters and can’t wait to read the next book in this series!!!

*Thank you Netgalley and Entangled Publishing, LLC for sending me an arc!*

3.5 STARS

Bane has been a vampire for three hundred years, protecting his club “family” from an evil group trying to take them over is his only goal. Bane might have been human once, but little of that life is left in him. After one of the few humans who knows of the existence of vampires becomes gravely injured, Bane meets Dr. Ryan St. Cloud and is blown away by his attraction to her. She seems other worldly even to Bane who knows all about the supernatural.

Ryan thinks she is losing her mind after a patient seemingly disappears. When she encounters Bane and he whisks her away, Ryan can’t believe fiction has become fact. She thinks a man like Bane could never be interested in her especially with all the unbelievable things she is seeing and experiencing. Ryan has some interesting secrets of her own for someone who seems a mere human.

Bane knows that his feelings for Ryan mean nothing but trouble; however, he cannot let this enigmatic woman go. She is surprisingly immune to his usual abilities of being able to mess with a human’s mind. While Bane is trying to come to terms with his feelings for Ryan, danger is all around them as a group of Warlocks is determined to destroy Bane’s group and a werewolf MC in order to take over Savannah.

This new series from author Alyssa Day covers a couple of genres: vampires and other supernaturasl plus an MC club although not much time is spent on said motorcycles in this tale. The dialog is clever and the characters are likeable except of course for the evil nasties who are quite grotesque. Since this is the first book, there is quite a bit of world building. A minor note is that in some places, Ryan’s last name is St. Cloud and in others, it is Sinclair. I am not clear on which one is correct at this point.
