Hello

Apologies for the late notice, but I have decided not to review this title. While I am certain it's obvious by now, I wanted to also clear this off NetGalley, so it's not showing as open for either of us.

Thanks,
Laura

Lisa Jackson never disappoints and I'm always excited to pick up anything that she's written. This one is no different.

Keeps you turning the pages to find out what one sister will do for the other and how lives are intertwined in more ways than one,

What a read. Two sisters who have allowed the distance to grow between them. One must face the past in order for the other to survive. A taut compulsive read.

Secrets lies and deception; does anyone do it better than Lisa Jackson. Whenever I need to completely escape the mundane, I've never been disappointed. A reissue, but a classic just the same.

One of my favoring books ever! I have lost count of how many times I have read this book. I love the twin aspect and the betrayal and second chances. This book so much love.

Loved the character development and good story line. Excellent description of local locals and plenty of suspense and action to keep me reading to the end.

Why it has taken me so long to get to this book blows my mind and aggravates me. I guess life just got busy and it took me longer to get to this one but it was so so good when I finally sat down and started reading it! I love Lisa Jackson's writing style. The way that she can drag you along and give you little clues here and there making you think that it was one person and then another but then making it totally different in the end was amazing. I could not read fast enough to find out who and what was going on. When the story was over I was so sad that it was done. I enjoyed it so much.

We get to meet the twin sisters, Maggie and Mary Theresa, aka Marquise, in this story. When we first start out, Marquise has turned up missing and her ex-husband has come to tell Maggie about it. There is friction between Maggie and Thane, the ex-husband, and we soon find out why.

I love how we started out with modern day and then switched to when Maggie and Mary Theresa were younger and growing up. Tons of questions are answered by this little switch to the past. Then when we switch back to the present day, we learn even more about the twins, specifically Marquise.

Thane is determined to prove his innocence in all of what is going on even though the police want to blame him for what has happened. Thane is not all bad and wants Maggie to realize that what he did when they were younger was all for a reason and not just to hurt her. There is romance in this story mixed in with all the suspense that is thrown your way. I thought that it was all such a great mixture of everything and it kept you wanting to read and read until the very end. I highly recommend this book and Lisa Jackson as an author. I know I will be going back to read more of her books in the very near future!

I voluntarily read and reviewed this book and all opinions are my own. Thanks to Netgalley, the author and the publisher for a copy of this book. So sorry it took me a little longer to get my review in!

I feel like this is a reissue of an older book. It seemed slightly familiar all the way through the book. It could use some updating.

This book could have been better with more developed characters. The love triangle was not engaging or romantic from any angle. The twins did not have a typical "twin" relationship, other than telepathy. I thought the author pushed the telepathy too far making it cheesy and skeptical. I found it frustrating what a pushover Maggie was and her naivety was annoying.

I enjoyed some of the storylines. However, there was a good portion added for shock value.

This was the first book I have read from this author. If I was not reading it for the purpose of reviewing it, I would have put it down after the first chapter.

In Lisa Jackson's Twice Kissed, this reissued classic romantic suspense will send you into a crazy and twisted world of secrets, lies, and deception. When Maggie McCrae receives a cryptic telepathic message from her twin sister, Mary Theresa (aka Marquise), it sent her world into a tizzy. She lived a private remote life in Settler's Ridge, Idaho with her 13-year-old daughter Becca. While her in-laws wanted control of her daughter and Becca acted cold to blame her of her father's death, she tried to keep it altogether. But when Thane Walker, her first love who stole her heart, twenty years ago in Palo Verde, California, needed her help to look for her sister and to help clear his name. It'd brought her back into the past on when she dealt with an alcoholic mother, a demanding father, and twisted secrets her twin had shared with her... and when she first met Thane at the ranch. During the search for her twin in Denver, she learned more devastating truth on her sister's career, her mental state, and what Thane had held back from her. The closer they get to discover if she's dead or alive, it brought them closer together to rekindle their old flame. In the end, it's a matter of life or death with a sobering ending to leave you cold all over.

I can always know that when I read Lisa Jackson book I get a little bit of everything. Romantic tension, mystery, thriller and a plot driven by character development. The narration goes between the present and the past.

Maggie is raising her teenage daughter alone in the great state of Montana. Widowed and contemplating her marriage and her relationship with her daughter, you know right away that she is vulnerable and complicated. Her daughter and her are in the middle of an argument, daughter storms off and then she hears her twin sister's voice Help me! Only you can help me. It was Thane. He did this to me! Maggie hasn't seen her sister in years and Thane was her first love that is also her sister's ex husband. Complicated!!! Sometimes reading about complications just makes your own life seem so much nicer! It gets more complicated! Thane shows up at her door asking about her sister. The plot is set- Get ready! Set Go! Can the two work together given their history to find her sister who may or may not be in danger. The whole horrendous history of the sisters, man troubles, family troubles come into light looking for the sister.

Maggie conveniently sends her daughter to her husband's family in California and goes with Thane to Denver to find her sister. Denver not only gives her answers but more questions about the dark life her sister led. Nail biting and surprising.

A special thank you to Kensington Books and Netgalley for the ARC and the opportunity to post an honest review.

Maggie and Mary are twin sisters ... seemingly they are nothing at all alike.

Mary (Marquise) is not a nice person ... starting when she lured her sister's boyfriend away by saying she was pregnant. Turns out she was pregnant, but it wasn't Thane's child. She has gone on and become a TV star.

Mary has disappeared and the link that has always allowed them to communicate no matter the distance is telling Maggie that Mary is really in danger.

She has no choice but to turn to Thane ... if Maggie can trust him. The deeper she digs into her sister's life, she more she discovers things she's never known.

And now Maggie may be the next person to disappear ...

This is not the author's best work. I have read many of her books and not been disappointed .. until now. The characters are not deeply drawn ... and hard to feel much of anything for either of the sisters. Thane seems to think that everything between him and Maggie was complicated by Mary saying she was pregnant with his baby. He tried to do the right thing by marrying her .. but evidently he had already cheated on Maggie . So what does that make him. The plot was okay, although it's been done many times. Here's hoping her next book will be more on par with what I know she can accomplish.
For fans of this author, this is not her normal Romantic Suspense. It's more of a Psychological Drama.

Many thanks to the author / Kensington Books / Netgalley for the digital copy of this psychological drama. Read and reviewed voluntarily, opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.

Bestselling author, Lisa Jackson, is the author of Twice Kissed, a suspenseful thriller with not only murder, but also a bit of romance. Maggie McCrae and Mary Theresa are twins, but other than looking exactly alike, they are very different. Mary Teresa is a television star with plenty of money and a huge ego, and Maggie is a down-to-earth widow and mother of a difficult teenager living in a small town. Years ago Maggie was in love with Thane Walker until her sister took him from her and married him, only to be later divorced. Now Mary Teresa is missing, and Maggie thinks she is in danger. As Maggie follows the clues, she isn’t happy that she will have to team up with Walker to solve the mystery of Mary Teresa’s whereabouts. The investigation takes readers through ups and downs, and exposes family secrets.

Lisa Jackson knows how to tell a story; in fact, she is a master at it, and has the ability to tell several stories at once and connect them. Twice Kissed is no exception, and this novel will definitely keep the interest of thriller aficionados. The twins’ personalities are well developed, as well as Thane Walker, and they seem like real people. Maggie’s difficult teenager is also a contributing force, since anyone with a teenager will be able to relate.

Lisa Jackson fans won’t want to miss this new thriller. Her writing style is appealing, as well as the story. The dénouement is surprising, and the scenarios will keep readers on the edges of their seats.

Special thanks to NetGalley for supplying a review copy of this book.

Very much enjoyed this one. It was both a romance and mystery rolled into one. The beginning drew me right in and I kept turning the pages to see what happened next. I really liked how it begins, with the start of Maggie feeling the twin bond with her sister. This was something definitely different.

I love the characters created and the story - the angst of not knowing if you could trust or believe her sister or Thane was intriguing and it seemed a unique storyline for a change.

Definitely recommend this!

Thank you to Kensington Books and NetGalley. I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

A set of identical twins, one raising her teenage daughter by herself in Idaho as she writes true crime novels, the other a television personality that has many enemies that would like to see her disappear. When she does....her twin becomes involved in the investigation, setting her life aside to find her sister. She must dig into her sister's less than perfect life to find out exactly what could have happened.
This is not your everyday run of the mill missing person's story. There are some definite twists that will catch you unaware to send the mystery off in a different direction. The television community has the typical problem characters that leave you feeling glad you do not know them. The main characters are well defined and draw emotional responses from the reader in each new chapter. The ending....well, you will not see this one coming.

Well written mystery novel with many exciting and thrilling parts that will keep you guessing and on your toes. It is a one sitting read. Some portions are slow, but keep reading because the action comes at you fast.

Typically, when we think of twins, we think of two people who would do anything for one another. They protect one another and stand up for one another. Well not when it comes to Mary Theresa and Maggie. You can tell Mary Theresa has a very assertive personality and needs control in both hers and her twin's life. However, Maggie is not willing to sit idly by. She goes away to college, marries, and has a daughter. When her husband dies, she moves as far away from everyone as she can. She lives on a ranch that is secluded. She loves that. Till her sister goes missing and she is determined to find her.

This is a fun little mystery and the twist at the end was enjoyable.
