A brief and to-the-point biography of there Loving family and their struggles and the influence their case had on the gay marriage decision of 2015. Perfect for late elementary to Junior high. Too simplistic for grades older than that. However, there are tons of resources at the end that could help guide older students, so it's still a great starting point.

This is a brief yet educational overview on the history of mixed-raced marriages in the U.S., with a heavy focus on the Loving v. Virginia case. Very easy to read and understand with some interesting details that were new to me. Definitely puts into perspective how certain marriage practices that may be common today have been the result of relatively new changes in the law.

When Mildred and Richard Loving are arrested, jailed, and exiled from their home simply because of their mixed-race marriage, they must challenge the courts and the country in order to secure their civil rights.

So I had no idea that this story was true!

A fast and important read! As someone who knew little about the case of the Loving’s, I’ve learned so much about how important this case was towards the fight for the rights of interracial marriages and other issues as well. As a reader, your heart breaks as someone who roots for the Loving’s who just want to live peacefully in their home state of Virgina. Larry D Brimner does an immaculate job in laying out the case and featuring other cases that looked at the Loving’s case as a guide. This is a good and educational read.

This book, while targeted to teenagers, is a great read about the Loving case. Had enough information, pictures etc to learn about the case, it's context and it's future effect on the country. A quick read for sure, but I adored it.
