Thank you to the author for this book.

I really enjoyed this book. I loved reading about how the sisters were so close that when Elodie (I kept wanting to call her Melodie) couldn't have a baby after many miscarriages that Aubrey decided to have her baby. They were 8 years apart but as close as sisters could be even though their lives were totally different.

Then comes the "scandal" which I won't spoil here but it didn't come as big as a shock to me as I thought it would.

I really thought that there was going to be another shocker at the end of the book because of how I read between the lines, but I was wrong or was I? Could there be a sequel about that if it came to that?

If I am going to be totally honest...and that's the name of my game. This was ok.

I remember feeling the same about her other Palm Beach novel. I liked it. Didn't love it. Its a great summer on the beach with a drink in hand read. Escaping to the ultra rich life for a few pages and fairly forgettable.

The editing was really bad, it made the book feel really disjointed. There was no flow to the writing and whilst you were still in a scene it suddenly jumps to something else leaving you confused.
The characters were also really unlikable and the book was rather boring so I skipped large parts of the over descriptive prose.
The subject matter was rather sensitive so you would think this would be a good drama but it left me cold.

Oh, this book was such a struggle for me to get through. I did not connect to the characters and I just had a very hard time sticking with it. Did not enjoy this much, regrettably.

Palm Beach and its flawless Social Scene,
Veronica and her oldest daughter Elodie are the perfect Palm Beach socialite example. They participate in its social life full of affluent people with high disposable incomes, always ready to take part in activities collaborating with the local community. They are beautiful, they are successful, they are rich.
But when Elodie finds out after a miscarriage, that she's not able to carry a pregnancy to term, she turns to her sister Aubrey, and ask her the favor of her life. Aubrey is a free spirit, pursuing a career in the music industry, and in love with Tyler. Far from her sister's in lifestyle, but close in the heart.
Once the pact is sealed, everything starts to spin uncontrollably. There are secrets disclosed betrayals not confessed, altering discoveries , but mostly, unknown feelings pushing everyone through new beginnings.
I liked this book very much. The characters are well developed and the pace is good.. Although it's written from several points of view, it's easy to follow the characters, their struggles and evolutions through the pages.
The epilogue surprised me in a way. But after thinking about it for a while, it made all the sense. Some points to the author there.

I'll be completely honest and say this book was an incredible struggle for me to even finish. I kept losing track of which sister was talking and the whole storyline just felt overblown to me. Too many secrets, too much heartache and only 2 characters I enjoyed....Aubrey and Tyler.

Marren's book is a well-written page-turner about family, sisterhood and scandals.

Sometimes you just need an emotional women's fiction drama in your life - and this is exactly how I felt when I picked up A Palm Beach Scandal. It was totally a balm for the soul. I was crying, laughing, feeling and hoping. So if you're looking for a solid heart-wrenching drama about sisterhood, love, childbearing and buried family secrets, this one is for you.

However, as much as I liked how this book made me feel, I have mixed feelings about it. The ending (which I will not disclose due to spoilers) didn't make sense to me. Unfortunately, endings really matter in a novel like this, when you fall in love with characters and begin to root for them. Nonetheless, maybe to another reader it will be the perfect finish - who knows?

A fun, dramatic continuation of a series I loved. They are the women we want to be - but everyone has their own secrets... It's a look into the other side... Things aren't always what they want to be and these two sisters aren't the perfect pair we think they are!

What a read! From the outside looking in, you would think these sisters were best friends. But they're so very, very different. Are there secrets involved? You bet. Some family drama? Oh, my, yes! Close sisterly bonds? Well.... I loved the setting of this novel, especially since I lived in nearby Jupiter for several years. It would be lovely if this series continues, because the book ended and I still had questions!

Glitz and glamour? Check. Secrets? Check. Family drama? Check. Sisterly bonds? Check.

Loved this novel that took place in Palm Beach with two sisters that are very different, but still share so much. I hope this might become a series because I feel like the ending could have been better and left more questions than answers.
