If you’re looking for a fast paced entertaining thriller, look no further. Just One Look had me hooked from the very first page. This was a fast read and I definitely recommend adding it to your TBR.

I thought that this book was entertaining! Was it the best thing ive ever read? No. But did i think it was a compulsive page turner? Absolutely. This definitely gave off Fatal Attraction and The Roommate vibes. This was a totally fine thriller!

Just One Look is a phenomenal thriller from start to finish. Filled to the brim with twists and a captivating plot, this one is sure to keep readers hooked. The characters are well-developed. The story is incredibly fast-paced. This is one not to be missed! Highly recommended! Be sure to check out Just One Look asap.

While I was looking for a good read about a stalker this didn’t pan out for me. I found Cassie annoying and the story absolutely boring. As expected, Forest was an absolute tool. I did feel sorry for Cassie at times but I couldn’t look past what she was doing.

I was looking forward to reading this book. After having read a bunch of romances I was in the mood for a good physiological thriller. Sadly, this book did not do that for me. I would call it more of a "sleeper thriller". While I read this book really fast, there was not a lot happening. Not in the beginning anyways. As the story progressed, the various events that took place within the story did not really raise any hairs on my arms.

In fact, I found myself having to go back and reread sections as I was not as engaged. I could tell where this story was going very early on. Cassie was fine but I did not find her that interesting. Where the story packed the most punch for me was the last couple of chapters of this book. It is where it all came together.

Just One Look by Lindsay Cameron reminded me of the Netflix series, You(which is based on a book, I think). I've only seen the first season of You, but if you liked it, you'll probably like this book. Cassie was a convincingly creepy stalker who seems to find purpose in obsessing over certain folks and relationships, real or imagined. She's pretty unhinged. It seemed like those around her all had varying degrees of mental or emotional issues as well. The pacing was slow at times, but it kept my attention. I'm not too sure about that ending though. It seemed pretty out there. I know. I know. It's fiction. But, with this kind of book, you expect it to be believable fiction, and the ending brought it over the edge too much. It was all told very well though. You are given a clear vision into Cassie's mind and outlook on life as the author, very successfully, pulls you through the rabbit hole of Cassie's psychosis.

This was a wild ride, but definitely scratched my itch for a thriller! I was on the edge of my seat this entire book, and thought Cameron did a great job keeping me engaged and flying through the pages! I recommend this one if you need a short, fast-paced read!

After a pretty painful fall from the corporate ladder, Cassie Woodson finds herself temping at the most boring job on the planet- sorting through a law firms documents for a case. While looking, the algorithm seems to have picked up one of the lawyers emails. Although they aren’t supposed to look at the emails, Cassie figures, what’s one look? However, it’s a slippery slope and suddenly Cassie finds herself obsessed with this perfect man and his perfect life. “Just One Look” by Lindsay Cameron is full of suspense and tension that will keep you on edge.

Ever wonder how much information people can find about you on the internet? If this book is anything to go off, it seems like a lot. Cassie also had his emails to work through, but it seemed like social media is just a treasure trove for all the information you wouldn’t particularly want people to have, but probably give away all the time. Cassie is able to learn a ton about Forest in such a short amount of time. The more information she gets, the more infatuated she seems.

I loved that this suspenseful novel was a quick read. It felt as quick as Cassie’s obsession and then finished before it got to be too much. I do wish there would have been more of a danger element or something to keep the tempo, but overall it felt pretty steady.

In the end, this one was a 3 star read for me. It was good, but I didn’t really find the urgency until the last few chapters. However, if you like suspense novels, it’s definitely worth your time.

I had a fun time reading this, but the main character occasionally got on my nerves. The twists were done well and I genuinely didn’t see some of them coming.

I just could not get into this book. Maybe the timing was wrong. I am intrigued by the premise of the book. I will try to read it again later.

Just One Look by Lindsay Cameron is a captivating story of voyeurism, escapism and how just one look can change the course of your life. Disgraced attorney Cassie, after a public fall from the corporate big law ladder, has taken a temp job as a document reviewer at a large firm in NYC. While reviewing email inboxes should be monotonous and boring an error occurred where the entire contents of partner's inbox was data dumped. Cassie becomes fascinated by Forest and his charming wife Annabelle, so much so she pulls the curtain back on their lives to an astonishing degree. Cassie decides to she wants Annabelle's life and will stop at nothing to get what she wants. However, Cassie may have forgotten that as easy as it was to infiltrate Forest's life it could be just as easy to infiltrate hers with deadly consequences.

While I preferred Big Law, this suspense debut by Lindsay Cameron was a strong read. I know some reviewers felt there was a lot of monotony and not enough action but it's a slow burn that is on a collision course you have to finish to believe, 3.5 stars.

This book is a real page turner. You start off feeling bad for poor Cassie, but the more the book goes, the more everything seems to spiral into insanity. Who is right? Who is wrong? Is anyone living in the same reality even? This is a story about falling from grace and taking matters into your own hands to get things back on track.

I tried to read this one but I realized that this was not for me. I do not think I can review this one fairly for a full review.

This book was so addictive. I love crazy stalker books and this was one of them. Can’t recommend enough.

As creepy as stalker novels are, they are a lot of fun to read, and if you haven’t gotten your fill of voyeuristic tales through Caroline Kepnes bestselling You series, Lindsay Cameron is here with Just One Look, her suspense debut which tells a stalker story from the female perspective. If you love getting into the heads of characters and prefer them to be completely unhinged, then Just One Look needs to go straight to your TBR list.

Cameron’s narrator Cassie has stalker fodder literally handed to her by way of her new temp job. Staffed at a prestigious law firm, it is her role to click through emails, determining if they are relevant to one of the firm’s cases. If she comes across an email that does not belong in the review, she is supposed to weed it out. However, when she comes across some intimate emails between one of the firm’s partners - Forest Watts - and his wife, she does the exact opposite. She becomes obsessed, hoping and praying that more of Forest’s emails will land in her review.

The more she gets to know Forest through his correspondence, the more she wants to take the place of his wife, Annabelle, in his life. Cassie uses the information she gleans from Forest’s emails to get closer to him, innocuously showing up at places she knows he will be and surreptitiously inserting herself into his life. With a plan as brash and daring as this one, Cassie knows that she is playing with fire, but she will literally do anything to become the next Mrs. Watts … anything.

When it comes to the entertainment factor, Just One Look takes the cake! I love psychological suspense novels such as this one, that showcase a person’s thought patterns and explain their motives for behaving the way that they do. Additionally, I thought that Cameron was clever in writing the stalkerish Cassie into a temp position at a law firm where it is literally her job to read other people’s emails, essentially spying on them. Just what secrets about us do our inboxes contain? Apparently enough to fuel the evil intentions of those nefarious enough to cast their eyes upon things they were never meant to see. As you’ll observe through the neurotic Cassie, it doesn’t take much in the Information Age to track down anything you could possibly want to know about a person.

Read Just One Look if you love suspense thrillers told from the guilty party’s POV. This book will appeal to readers of Caroline Kepnes’ You series, as well as those who like books like Chris Bohjalian’s The Flight Attendent, which feature professional females who DON’T have it all together.

"Just One Look" is the tagline that Cameron uses to sell this fun popcorn thriller perfect for You fans. It's so perfect that the author provides the blurb for her book.

The premise is that Cassie begins reading a private email exchange between a partner at the firm and his wife. Cassie becomes obsessed with this correspondence and with being the next woman to catch Forest's eye. Knowing all of those little details means she knows where to insert herself at every turn throughout his day. She also knows how to replicate those fun details that caught his eye the first time down to her signature scent and lipstick.

Relying on the old reliable narrator trope can sometimes feel a little tired, but Cameron leans less into this and more into crafting some well-tuned twists at the end of this thriller to throw the reader off the weary paths we have come to know.

“Just One Look” moved a bit slower than I had hoped for a thriller. So much of the novel is spent in the head of the protagonist, without much actually happening on the pages. You get glimpses of the fact that the main character has a troublesome past, but it’s largely wasted in the book where she is just being a creepy voyeur. It’s just less interesting from the POV of he creepy one unless you have some exciting dust ups like the book/show, “You.” As a result, this one just kinda dragged. This is 3 stars ⭐️ for me.

She landed on her couch and then took a temp job and gets interested in someone she reads about throug email exchanges Cassie is clearly not well and tries to latch on to Forest who has issues of his own.
