Fans of the Joe Goldberg,"YOU" series are going to L O V E this book.

This is basically YOU, but with a female protagonist and a little more back story thrown in.

The synopsis drew me in...just a peek at someone's private email and then weird stuff starts to happen.

As a nosy b*tch myself, don't mind if I do.

But as with other stories like this, I was a bit bored but the mundaneness that is stalking - watch/read/repeat. If that appeals to you, and you loved You,(I did not) you will eat this book up.

The writing is terrific and this was an easy one to fly through!

Just One Look is the story of Cassie Woodson as she rejoins the workforce after a scandalous exit from her previous position. The details of her hasty exit are revealed in bits and pieces which add to the suspense and help keep the plot moving. In her efforts to cope with her past trauma, Cassie drinks heavily which makes her an unreliable narrator. A family with a history of mental illness also keeps the reader guessing about Cassie’s character. Due to her terrible choices, it was difficult at times to root for Cassie. However, as she developed a type of friendship with a co-worker, she became more likable. A subplot is introduced involving this coworker which helped add intrigue. Overall, this was a quick read that should satisfy those looking for a satisfying plot.

I am so happy that this novel lived up to my expectations!! Just as creepy and thrilling as I wanted it to be. The characters are crazy but in a way that makes the novel that much more interesting.

Just One Look by Lindsay Cameron is a psychological thriller. Cassie Woodson is a lawyer who, after being fired from her high powered job at a prestigious law firm is forced to take a job as a law clerk reviewing files...a job of drudgery for someone like her. As she is reviewing, she comes across personal emails between Forest Watts, a partner in the firm and Anabelle, his wife. She becomes obsessed with them, their marriage and especially Forest, thinking she would be a much better wife for him than Annabelle. She arranges a meeting between them at a local juice bar that he frequents, then another at a bar...and things progress from there as her stalking becomes more and more extreme. As the novel moves on we discover exactly why she was fired from her previous job and it seems as if she is descending into madness...but in the end will it be worth it if she and Forest wind up together? An interesting novel, one that keeps you guessing until the end.

This was a fascinating story of an escalating obsession of an emotionally lost temp worker with one of the partners at her firm. A seemingly innocent interest turns into something much more serious...

Cassie Woodson seems to be a sympathetic character. She successfully completed law school, nabbed a partner track position and had been in a promising romantic relationship. All of this is I. The past when we meet Cassie as she is forced to swallow what pride she has left to take on a temp job in the basement of a big firm

As the story unravels, we begin to learn what led to Cassies disgrace and whether she truly learned from the experience. The focus in on her opportunity to read emails between a law partner and his wife as she is performing mind numbing work in her legal temp job. The more personal emails she reads, the more obsessed she seems to become. Who, however, is this man that she is obsessed with?

Much to my relief, I found Cassie to be a very sympathetic and interesting character. Many novels feature an obsessed woman that is hard to root for much less remain interested for an entire book. Cassie”s “why” to her behavior was a bit heavy handed but assisted with providing a full backstory

I was fully engaged and excited to leave what would happen next. There are two thrilling stories taking place throughout the novel and it’s unlikely you will guess the conclusion! Recommended !

This was so much fun to read!

Our main character is absolutely someone who qualifies as an unreliable narrator and it was amazing. She becomes unhealthily obsessed with a man she’s never met after accidentally becoming privy to his private emails. She goes to great lengths to memorize anything and everything, and winds up trapping herself in very dangerous situations as a result of her meddling.

It’s a train wreck in all the best ways, the same way people watch trashy reality show tv or murder death porn.

Loved this book! The main character, Cassie, was such a fun character with a daunting past that was revealed little by little until the big blow up at the end. I wasn’t quite sure how the whole story would unfold but the author did a nice job of weaving it all into a neat bow by the final page.

Cassie reads a personal email while at work that sets her off on an obsessive quest to learn everything about this man and his life. The author illustrates have easy it is to invade someone's privacy in todays social media and tech driven world. The story appears predictable until the unexpected ambush that left me gobsmacked. Certainly not your typical stalker story. Lindsay Cameron is going on my favorite author list.

This one will scare you out of.putting personal info in work emails. Trying to start a new life after an unforgettable exit from her.previous job, Cassie Woodson takes a temp job and ends up at a local law firm. Hee job is to review emails for relevant content to a big fraud case the firm is working. While doing so one day she comes across personal emails from Forrest Watts, a local attorney and businessman. She becomes obsessed with him and his life, trying to befriend his wife, become his girlfriend, etc. She succeeds. However nothing can prepare her for what she finds out when she starts snooping through his own personal emails. The lines deceit come unraveled and the truth about Forrest, his wife Annabelle, and their lies comes to light

Just One Look by Lindsay Cameron was quite the ride, and I just loved the thrills it provided! The story focuses on Cassie. Cassie was once a lawyer (and the story of why she's not is not immediately revealed), but for now, she is working for a temp agency. In this role, she is assigned to review emails for a lawsuit. Wading through the emails, Cassie finds her way to a couple's personal correspondence. She is so drawn into their life. Drawn into the point that Cassie wants their life, or more specifically she wants the husband, Forest. Cassie's focus turns from her work to learning all she can about Forest, so she can make him hers. Y'all, the twists in this one were wild. Every character has some level of secrecy about who they really are, and when those reveals happen, they are so, so good. I don't want to say too much because this is a thriller where the best stuff is very much the reveals as the story goes on, so I'll just say that this is absolutely a book you're going to need in your life. Let’s start by saying I am a sucker for an unreliable narrator. It’s probably my favorite type of suspense if I’m being honest...and Cassie did not disappoint. Girlfriend was a whole different level of unreliable and spiraling. I loved that the book started off with her being unstable and then completely sent her into a tailspin journey. I seriously hope this will become a series (UH HELLO THE ENDING) because I need Cassie’s brand of crazy back on my kindle. These characters were likable. I feel like suspense books tend to become predicable but I truly could not foreshadow where this book was going and I loved that. It felt like I was truly inside Cassie’s mind and learning these new truths with her in real time. Highly recommend this be added to everybody’s TBR!! Just One Look hits shelves July 27, 2021!

Just One Look, Lindsey Cameron's first thriller, was addictive and mind-twisting with an original plot and vivid narrative. The protagonist, Cassie Woodson, provided an entertaining point of view as an unreliable narrator who is like a train wreck you can't look away from. Just One Look is fast paced and the chapters are like potato chips, you can't just stop after one! I would have finished it in one sitting if I didn't have young children!😂

I was sucked in from the beginning of the story. I had to keep reading to see how unhinged the main character would become. All the hints were there that it was the direction she was going. I did not see the ending coming the way it was laid out. I was surprised and shocked. This book has twists and turns that keep you wanting to turn the next page

When I say I devoured this book, I mean it. It was so twisted and I couldn't stop. The main character was normal enough to not be annoyed by her and I wanted more information about why she left her other job so I had to keep reading. Great writing and would love to read more.

Fast paced, original thriller. What happens when a crazy stalker starts stalking someone even more crazy than she is herself. Cassie has went from a top law firm to rock bottom working research in the basement of a law office at a fraction of her previous pay. When once again she finds herself obsessed with a man she has never met she finds herself getting out of control. Excellent thriller that is not to be missed.

Absolutely intriguing and addictive read! If you are looking for a slightly creepy stalker thrilling book, this is it!

Cassandra Woodson. When you begin you are introduced to Cassie and decipher she was a high rising lawyer who had something bad (which seems like an understatement) happen at the office where she was let go. She is crawling into a new position as a temp in another law office and is hating life. You get the sense she’s slightly unhinged and dealing with a lot of issues from her past and she’s built up to be a juicy character. When working as a temp she has to go through emails for a case to decipher if it’s important or not and she comes across a partners personal emails to his wife. She becomes obsessed (again another understatement) with their love and life and there she begins her deranged planning.

Being in her mind and reading her actions were cringe worthy and an absolute train wreck you couldn’t look away from. The writing and atmosphere were superb as other characters written in fit so well. You start to slightly feel sorry for some of them at the same time you aren’t really sure why! I would advise to jump in blindly to get the full effect. Truly a great read and one I would recommend.

How can you go from the top all the way to rock bottom overnight? That’s what happened to Cassie Woodson. Now she’s trying to climb her way back up starting in the basement sitting through emails.

When does curiosity cross a line? When you step out into reality acting on a fantasy you’ve created out of the curiosity.

Cassie is smart but oblivious to those around her and when she becomes focused on someone in the emails she’s scanning, life becomes even more obscure around her.

Definite read if you like crazy that keeps you reading.

Wow. I am blown away by this story. Cassandra Woodson is definitely her own brand of crazy. The story is on par with You by Caroline Kepnes. The twist at the end was awesome. Potential trigger warnings: stalking, suicide, or cheating. Overall, enjoyable to read!
