Christmas Kisses by Judith keim

Hailley was adopted as a child and the story follows her journey fifteen years later still in the same town where she grew up and now is the local librarian but she has a secret . Will her secret as a renowned and famous author come out and change her life forever?

Beautifully written wonderful characters. A great read.

This is the second in a series and I felt a little bit lost with not knowing some of the background information, but it was overall a cute and heartwarming winter story that is perfect for a festive read

The second book in a series where I completely suggest to start at book one. In book one, a sweet woman recovering from large loss has opened her home to young girls who need a place for not only Christmas but beyond. In this second book, it focuses on one of the girls as she has grown up and is now living on her own and making a name for herself. This book is her love story as she connects with someone and must be honest with herself and him about her past, her present and her hope for the future. This sweet novella was a perfect addition to a weekend where I was able to go back to the holiday season and enjoy this woman and her unique family's moments during a holiday season.

Hailey Kirby and Nick Hensley had known each other for a long time. Hailey was the town's librarian and secretly she was a very successful children's book author who published her books under a pretend name. Her parents had died when she was very young and she was placed in a couple of foster homes before she found her forever home with Maggie and three other girls, her soul sisters.

Nick has been a famous rockstar who toured the world but when his ex brother-in-law ditched his family responsibility, Nick came home to help his sister and his niece. He was tired of the world jetting lifestyle of the rich and famous and wanted to settle down back at home. His niece was a big fan of the "Charlie stories", written by none there than Hailey Kirby.

Would the stars align to give Hailey her forever family? Would Nick find a woman who was kind and loving and his perfect match? Would Christmas kisses lead to something more?

This was my first experience with this author and while this story was sweet and the sex was behind closed doors, which I appreciate, the story didn't grab me and make me emotionally invested in the storyline. It wasn't bad but it seemed to move too fast for me to buy into the story.

I was given an arc copy of this book and I willingly offer my honest review.

I understand this is book 2 in a series. I have not read the first one. This was an ok book for me. I will look for the first book. I like beginning a series with number one.

This was a very sweet, heartwarming Christmas romance story that had likable characters. It was a nice story, but somehow it was lacking something for me. I enjoyed it but it did not grab me. The story was a little too simplistic for my tastes. Still, it was a sweet love story with a happy ending. If you like this type of book then this is the one for you.

This was a quick Christmas read. Hailey is an author of children’s books she writes under another name She is at a lodge for her sisters wedding. She meets up with a friend, Nick a musician, who wants to have her help him with ideas on children’s songs. They end up falling for each other. This book was okay. A little far fetched on how fast they fell in love & got engaged.

This is the second installment of Ms. Keim's Soul Sisters series about 4 foster sisters and how they come to be who they are today.
It is another wonderful, heart-warming (sometimes rending) story.
This story follows Hailey and Nick who grow close as they work together. With Nick creating songs to correspond with Haily's children's books.
I really relate to the characters. I felt like they were friends by the end of the first book and had some new ones by the end of the 2nd.
I will definitely be recommending this book.
Thank you Judith Keim, Wild Quail Publishing and NetGalley for allowing me an advance copy for my honest feedback.

A Christmas story of a family, not related, but rather, a family made up o one that chooses to welcome one into it. Four girls, in foster care become soul sisters as they are become a family with the woman who would become their mother. This story centers on Hailey who finds happiness where she least expects it. But, it also includes how the 4 girls find happiness after this wonderful mother took in four daughters after her own tragedy! She made the right choice. They made her life worth living again. Thanks to Net Galley for giving me the chance to read this book.

A far fetched but enjoyable Christmas novel. A handsome leading man and a likeable heroine make for a pleasant read x

Overall this was a heart-warming, sweet Christmas book. While I did enjoy the overall plot, at times the book read like really bad fan fiction. I had such a hard time with the writing style that I skimmed the last half of the book because I already knew what would happen and that I wouldn't miss anything. If you are looking for cheesy Christmas chick lit this might be the book for you, if you can get pass the author's writing style.

This was a really cute story. Its my first time reading this author but I really liked her writing style. Though its mostly in Haileys pov. The book starts out with a pre-logue where we meet the mom and her foster/adopted kids. Then the book picks up in the future and we meet grown up Hailey. This story is entirely in her POV. She is an author and librarian and lives in her small town.

We also meet Nick who was a rock star that gave it all up to move home to be with his sister and her daughter now he works around the ski hotel and helps take care of Regan while his sister runs the candy store in town, and thats where the Christmas Kisses title of the story comes in as they are refering to the candy sold at the candy store.

Nick has a lot of fans and Hailey is a quiet girl but she knows he has a crush on her author identity and so she doesnt tell him about her authoring. He wants him to fall for her, plain old Hailey the librarian.

This was a sweet and cute book. Very clean cut as sex scenes in the story are not very descriptive.

I received a free ARC copy of this book from NETGALLERY prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Hailey Kirby finally found her forever family at 8 years of age. Taken in by a lonely widow at Christmas, she joins 3 other adopted sisters and soon the family is inseparable. Fast forward to their adult years and there are plans to spend Christmas at the Cedar Mountain Lodge to celebrate Alissa's wedding. Unexpectedly, Alissa's fiance calls off the wedding but the family decides to go anyway to celebrate the holiday together. Hailey feels it would be good for her to go and take a break from her writing, which she does under the pen name, Lee Merriweather. During her stay, she connects with an acquaintance from her past Nick. Soon sparks fly and very quickly "I love you"s are shared and a proposal is had.

The story was a very light and easy read. Cozy and romantic, it felt like it could be a Hallmark movie. The only issue I had was that the writing seemed to be disjointed at times. It tended to be choppy, where I would have enjoyed more time spent delving into the character's thoughts and feelings. Certain sentences seemed as they may have been just a filler and not terribly useful to the plot of the book. I also found it slightly hard to believe that two people could fall in love and become in engaged in the span of a little over a week. Other than that, I enjoyed the book.

Thank you to NetGalley and Judith Keim for the ARC in exchange for my honest review!

What a wonderful series!!

Christmas Kisses is the 2nd book in a series called Soul Sisters at Cedar Mountain Lodge. Get the 1st book - it sets the stage by these talented authors who have come together to do this series!

It is a really quick read and feels a little rushed, but you get caught up in the characters and the family. It is like a Hallmark movie, but in book form - which is way better!

Thank you to NetGalley and Wild Quail Publishing for kindly providing me with a digital copy of this book for review.
This is the second book within a series but I’ve read it fine without reading the first book. It’s a very cute little Christmas romance. It’s got a lot of buzz words that tick my boxes- lodge, librarian, musician, family, traditions. There wasn’t anything that shocked or surprised me in this but it was a very enjoyable few hours and I would recommend for a little bit of Christmas escape.

This book is the delightful continuation of a family put together by love, rather than blood. It is part of a series that looks at each of the sisters (aka The Soul Sisters) in that family. In this story, we have the opportunity of learning about Hailey Kirby. Hailey starts as a foster child named Hailey Bennett but soon becomes a part of the Kirby family. When next we see Hailey, she has grown up to become a children’s librarian as well as a children's author writing under the pen name, Lee Merriweather. Also, she has feelings for Nick Hensley, a musician, and the uncle of one of her children at the library. Nick seems to be fascinated with Lee Merriweather but has no idea that Lee and Hailey are the same. To further complicate matters, Hailey and her family have decided to spend the Christmas holidays at the lodge which is the site of her sister’s now-canceled wedding as well as where Nick works as a musician. From here, the story gets even better providing a great holiday read.

NOTE: This story may be read as a standalone but, based on what I read in this story, I purchased the first book in the series to get more of the back story.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book provided by the publisher and Net Galley. However, the thoughts expressed are my own.
