I received a copy of this book to review from Netgalley. Thank you for the opportunity.
A fresh and explosive heroine fronts this modern romance that breaks down antiquated rules. I really liked the MC as she was sassy and relatable. The writing was very well done.
A good read.

J.S. Cole debuts her work in "The Lady of Jeffrey Manor" as part of The Knights of the Castle, a collaboration of multicultural romances.

One of the reasons this story was so exciting to read was this heroine being the major highlight. Before now, the series focused mostly on the alpha males...Kings and Knights. Now don't get me wrong, the men are front and center getting things done. They are all about their business protecting American soil and abroad. The women standing beside these men are a force to be reckoned with.

Blair leads the charge in this story as a surgical nurse. There is no hesitation in taking this assignment in Durabia. It's the perfect opportunity to put some distance between the drama in the states with family and a deadbeat ex-husband.

Their virtual communications begin Hassan and Blair's budding attraction, and when they finally meet, the chemistry is more than either of them can ignore. When she settles in at work, her take-charge attitude and skillset land her in another wave of drama. The attention of a specific Durabian Royal does not go unnoticed as it adds fuel to the fire.

It's apparent to all the interest he has taken with Blair, an American woman. His father takes an issue with this and forbids him to have any dealings with her. Being groomed for an arranged marriage meant he would have a loveless and resentful life. When another option presents itself, the choice to have a relationship with love or just a union of tradition, the decision was easy to make. He defies his father by not only refusing an arranged marriage and multiple women but commits himself to one wife, an American wife. The heart wants what the heart wants, and just like that, another broken tradition.

I enjoyed the Lady of Jeffrey Manor. It was a great addition to the series.

Lady or Jeffrey Manor is 🔥🔥🔥. I love all of try Kings and Knights but this lady is where it’s at.

Blair leaves a terrible marriage with baggage, but she doesn’t let that get in the way of her success.

She doesn’t want to fall in love with her far away friend, but once the meet in person it’s nearly impossible to avoid.

She meets the perfect man, has the opportunity to provide the perfect life for her children, but the obstacles keep on coming.

This independent woman doesn’t take any crap, overcomes every challenge that threatens to get in her way and rises to the top, achieving all of her goals and even some things she didn’t know she wanted.

I love this book. Lady of Jeffery Manor brings a whole new level of amazing to the Kings and Knights series. Truly a pleasure to read and I highly recommend!

Lady of Jeffrey Manor is the fourth book in the Knights of the Castle series. These books can be read in any order and are designed to be standalones. However, there are lots of interlocking relationships and many characters, which can be confusing. In this particular book, the author dumps you right into a family get-together and lots of names and relationships are thrown at you right away. However, you don’t really need to understand all the intricate interlocking family members - just realize that this is a family with real issues and that Blair is the main character.

This is the second book I’ve read in this multi-authored, multicultural romance series. Other than references to a couple of people from the other book, there was no overlap. In this book, Blair (the titular Lady of Jeffrey Manor) is a surgical nurse. Her aunt Ellena has married into the royal family of a mythical country in the Middle East called Durabia. Blair is going to emigrate to Durabia with her three children. Hassan, also of the royal line, has been assigned to make her transition easier, teaching her about the Durabian culture, and making things ready for her there.

I had a hard time with the main characters in this book. Blair has a difficult background (family members and her husband abused her) so I can understand that she’s not always going to be terribly sympathetic. She is, however, an outstanding surgical nurse. (A lot of technical medical information was included to provide authenticity.) Hassan is just too good to be true. Their budding romance faces cultural, racial and religious obstacles and that forms most of the story. Her ex-husband is despicable and it’s hard to understand what Blair saw in him to begin with.

Warning: references to and discussion of spousal abuse and child abuse

Thank you to NetGalley and Independent Publishers Group for the opportunity to read this book. All opinions are my own.

Hassan is the cousin of Sheik Kamran Khan and has become very close to surgical nurse Blair Swanson who is the niece of Ellena Kiley who is married to Sheik Kamran. Hassan has never seen Blair in person but has become very attached to her via daily and nightly video chats. Kamran sends Hassan to Chicago to pick up Blair and her three children against his uncle’s wishes. Hassan is waiting for Blair on the airplane but she is being detained by husband. Hassan departs from the airplane and wants to know what’s the hold and kisses Blair on the forehead and her husband does not like it.

Blair has landed a surgical nurse position at the hospital in Durabia and she knows her job very well. Her co-workers are the typical co-workers talking behind your back and in her face; but the feisty Blair has it all under control and Hassan doesn’t make things any better he takes her lunch is often seen with her and the co-workers are even more jealous.

Hassan’s father has made a vow that Hassan is going to take not one woman but two women as his wife and have Blair as wife number 3. Not only does Blair say no, but Hassan is not having any part of that he has informed his father that he wants Blair and will marry her. Hassan’s father has set up road blocks with the US and Durabia embassies halting all paper work making a marriage difficult. Blair has enough going on in her life with a cheating husband, grandmother, aunts and cousins, nothing but drama.

Hassan says no problem, I know who to call and it is not the ghost busters but the Kings and the Knights Of The Castle and they get the job the done.

This is author J.S. Cole debut book and she did an excellent job and I am looking forward to reading more books from her. Everything right on point, great character building and all-around great writing. Way to go J.S. Cole.

Thank you Best Selling Author Naleighna Kai for approving me for an ARC via Netgalley.

Blair Swanson a surgical nurse, starts a new position at a hospital in Durabia, and having to deal with a messy ex husband, trifling family members and deceitful coworkers. She is also trying to sort out her feelings for the Crown Prince Hassann, who's father is refusing to accept their relationship.

Hassaan is in love with Blair, but their relationship cannot move further due to the fact his father does not want Blair to be Hassaan's first wife and technically Blair is still married. The two of them have a slow build friendship turned relationship, but with boundaries.

This was a beautiful story, and for a first time author, JS Cole did a very good job. Her story made me want to fall in love with Hassaan and look for someone with his characteristics in real life. The relationship with some of the secondary characters was very well written and enjoyable. This was a great and enjoyable story, and I will be looking for more from this author.

Lady of Jeffery Manor was a beautiful story about second chances. Blair is a Surgical Tech that has endured a great deal of heartache and betrayal in her life. A once in a lifetime fresh start is just what she and her three children need. Will old wounds and new betrayals threaten her new life and the prospect of new love and a lifetime of happiness?

From page one I was drawn into this multicultural romance. The characters were beautifully written and the storyline captured my imagination. JS Cole and Naleighna Kai did a phenomenal job of writing a new kind of love story. I am a fan of Ms. Kai's work, Her Kings of the Castle Series has new classic written all over it!

I look on with great interest as new author JS Cole joins the ranks of the newly published. It is my fondest hope that she continues to write. I look forward to reading more from her in the future.

If you are looking for a new kind of love story with the subtle nuances of the classics then look no further than Lady of Jeffery Manor!

Found myself clutching my pearls! Lady or Jeffrey Manor is an extremely good read. Definitely recommend this book be added to your collection.

Through her aunt’s generosity, Blair Swanson lands a position in a hospital in Durabia. She moves her family there to start over and leave the bitter taste of her marriage behind.

Hassan, a member of the royal family, is assigned to be an envoy and will introduce her to their society. Along the way, Hassan falls for Blair and her family. But some of his relatives have issues with Hassan being with someone of another nationality and race, and will do everything it takes to keep them separated.

Blair, though efficient, also faces opposition at work. When things get dicey, the Kings and Knights of the Castle step in to ensure that the couple has a chance at happiness. Lady of Jeffrey Manor covers the subjects of responsibility—both to family and on the job—following the leadings of the heart, and making moves to secure one’s happiness.

Readers will love Hassan’s care, concern, and generosity, plus the daring actions of the Knights and Kings of the Castle.

3.75 stars-- LADY OF JEFFREY MANOR co-authored by JS Cole and Naleighna Kai is the fourth instalment in the multi-authored/multi-cultural KNIGHTS OF THE CASTLE romance series. This is Durabia’s Crown Prince Hassan, and African-American surgical nurse Blair Swanson’s story line. LADY OF JEFFREY MANOR can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary but I recommend the series in order for back story and history. The Knights of the Castle is a spin-off from the multi-authored Kings of the Castle, and several characters cross over for cohesion.

Told from several third person perspectives including Blair and Hassan LADY OF JEFFREY MANOR follows the forbidden romance between Durabia’s Crown Prince Hassan, and American surgical nurse Blair Swanson. Blair Swanson is a nurse; a mother of four young children; and has filed for divorce from her abusive husband. When her aunt Ellena (King of Durabia) and the Kings of the Castle offered to help Blair and her children move to Durabia, Blair found herself in communication with, and mentored by Crown Prince Hassan, the man with whom Blair would fall in love. What ensues is the slow building relationship between Hassan and Blair, and the potential fall-out as Hassan’s father refuses to accept Blair as his son’s potential mate.

Blair Swanson is a strong-willed, ascerbic, intimidating, educated, and self-assured woman who refuses to back down, and often. Telling it like it is, Blair finds herself on the offensive when her job is threatened, and her relationship with Hassan comes into question. Crown Prince Hassan of Durabia has angered his father, and the people of Durabia by falling in love with a black woman from America, a woman who doesn’t follow the religious dictates of the Kingdom of Durabia. Going against tradition and the demands of his father, Hassan finds himself having to choose between love or country, and is willing to sacrifice everything to get what he wants.

The slow building relationship between Hassan and Blair begins as a friendship as Hassan knows that to enter into a sexual liasson could threaten the woman with whom he is falling in love. Technically still married to her husband back home, Blair struggles to separate herself from her past, a struggle that Blair continues to feed.

LADY OF JEFFREY MANOR covers several months and follows numerous paths and conflicts as our heroine must come to terms with her past, her present and potentially her future, while Crown Prince Hassan must address his family and the Kingdom’s concerns, and his growing love for a woman who is currently unavailable. We are up close and personal as Blair’s family history is revealed a history steeped in secrets, lies, abuse and cover ups; and the execution of a divorce that could have been resolved sooner than later. There are some aspects of the story line that I found unbelievable and questioned the validity of whether or not the events or scenarios could have occurred in reality but such is the nature of fictional story telling-in this I struggled to accept the possibility. The premise is interesting as the author addresses racism, sexism, and stereotyping in a country with strict religious dictates and views on women, men and relationships; the romance is sweet and passionate; the characters are positive and strong.

Lady of Jeffrey Manor by J. S. Cole and Naleighna Kai is book four of the nine book Knights of the Castle series. This series is a spinoff of the Kings of the Castle series. The books in both series are standalones penned by various authors and can be read in any order.

Blair Swanson has followed her aunt, Sheikha Ellena Khan, to the East Indian country of Durabia, seeking a better life for herself and her children. Hassan, the nephew of Sheikh Kamran Khan, is assigned to help Blair acclimate to her new environment and the cultural differences. In the process, Blair and Hassan develop a friendship that progresses to a romantic relationship. The couple has an uphill battle, as they are confronted with pain and secrets from her past, angst from her ex, prior obligations set for Hassan, and cultural and societal traditions forbidding their relationship.

J. S. Cole and Naleighna Kai hit the mark again in this fourth installment of the Knights of the Castle series. Even though this is a standalone, the integrity of the series is maintained. The characterization is excellent. We get to know some familiar friends even better and are introduced to some vivid new additions. The plot and vibrant dialogue hold the reader’s attention throughout. This is a journey that elicits the full range of emotions, from sadness to joy. I give Lady of Jeffrey Manor 4 out of 5 stars and recommend it to all readers of romantic suspense and multicultural fiction.

My thanks to Independent Publishers Group and NetGalley for the opportunity to read an advance copy of this book. However, the opinions expressed in this review are 100% mine and mine alone.

Biases, cultural differences and jaded perceptions of relationships are a few of the reasons why it seemed that Hassan and Blair shouldn't be together. As their story unfolded and you got to know these two characters, they are indeed a great match. I love that Hassan was extremely patient with Blair in spite of the walls that she kept up. In addition, he showed unconditional love and respect to both her and her children. The couple had to face drama and adversity courtesy of her soon to be ex-husband and Hassan's meddlesome father. This book is a page turning journey that will keep you engaged and evoke a range of emotions from beginning to the end. Happy Reading! - U.M. Hiram, Finally

My thoughts
Rating: 5
Would I recommend it? Yes, in fact I keep telling my friends they need to pick this series up.
Would I read more by this author? yes
First I want to thank the publishers as well as the author and NetGalley for inviting me to read and review it and for letting me go on with this series because I'm hooked and lets face it I'm loving the series because of the hot guys. Out of all of the four I've read so far this one is the one I was looking forward to the most because you get to see the back story of Blair Swanson come to life as well as see her finally getting her happy ever after. While this one does deal with divorce, as well as racism and you get more insight in how women are looked down upon it also shows you what family is all about and how strong you can be no matter what or who tries to stand in your way. For me this book wasn't just about secrets, lies, abuse and cover ups; or even just about racism, sexism, and stereotyping in a country with strict religious it was about family and what that means no matter where you are.
