I tried to give this book a chance. I had a hard time connecting to the characters and their relationship. Ultimately I had to stop reading. I know this book will be enjoyed by other readers. I will not be sharing this review on my pages.

This was a bit too much of a tear-jerker for my taste, but it is very well written and the characters are fairly believable. I know not many people sympathize with Kevin but I did, not everyone is that keen on surprises and changes in their lives. A good book about family bonds.

This story is so heartwarming. Lori Wilde has done it again what a fabulous story of twin girls who didn’t know the other was alive, until a medical condition makes one to go looking. I thought I would start this book before bed and read a few minutes, but no I read half way only to get up in the morning to finish it. I kept thinking about the characters throughout the day.

Great story about long lost identical twins. I really enjoyed the characters, they were believable and complex. Great author and I would recommend the other stories in the series as well.

Lori Wilde's Keepsake Sisters is a sweet story about found family and the many different meanings of love. Anna is shocked when the twin sister she didn't know she had shows up on her doorstep. They may look identical but Anna and Amelia couldn't be more different. Wholesome, sheltered Anna hasn't seen much outside of her Texas hometown, and always believes in the best of people. Jaded, cautious Amelia is closed and keeps her emotions locked tightly inside. When Amelia reveals the real reason she sought out her twin 35 years after they were separated at birth, Anna must decide whether she should follow her heart and trust a stranger who is biologically her twin when the rest of her family warns her against her.

I loved the ending of this story. It asks hard questions with ultimately very rewarding answers.

Even though I don’t have a sister, I love stories about sisters. This week I read the Keepsake Sisters, about long lost identical twins!

The book takes place in Moonglow Cove, Texas and tells the story of twin sisters, Anna and Amelia. They were separated at birth and reunite when Amelia finds Anna out of the blue. Anna has no idea she had a sister and is absolutely shocked. But Amelia comes holding an identical bracelet to Anna’s which was given to her when she was born. Amelia’s parents have passed away and Anna’s mom is still alive and she explains that the power went out when she was in labor. Amelia comes to find Anna because she needs a huge favor from her sister. Anna’s husband doesn’t trust Amelia and this causes a huge rift between them.

I have twin nieces who are 6 years old and although they aren’t identical at all, I love seeing their similarities and differences. I can’t even imagine suddenly finding out I had an identical twin!

This book was so entertaining. I was drawn into the story from the beginning and was involved until the end. The characters were complex and interesting. I found the story to be well paced and engrossing throughout the whole book. I was invested in the couple throughout the book and felt all the emotions through both the highs and lows of the story. If you want an entertaining and well written book this is it for you.

This was an amazing book with so many ups and downs I felt like I was on a roller coaster at times. During a hurricane the electricity goes out and two women give birth in the dark. One woman gives birth to a stillborn girl. The second woman was just passing through town when she went into labor and gave birth to twin girls. One wanted a child more than anything, the other seemed uncaring. In the dark, the midwife and the father of the dead baby make a decision that will change lives forever - they switch the dead baby for one of the twins. With a dead father, the only one who knows what happened that night is the midwife who is suffering from Alzheimer's.
Thirty five years later a knock on the door changes everything when the twins come face to face. Except for their looks, their backgrounds couldn't have been more different. Amelia was brought up rich but unloved. Anna's family didn't have much but they did have lots of love to go around.
This book switches among 3 points of view - Anna, Amelia, and Robin (Anna's mother). Three different women but all wanting love and happiness. This book will bring more tears than laughs but is well worth the read but it is worth it in the end.

A wonderful read in the Moonglow Cove series! I highly recommend this book! I also recommend the author's other series as well since there is no indication that there will be more in this series (this is the second book).

THE KEEPSAKE SISTERS – Lori Wilde

Women’s Fiction

Moonglow Cove, Texas – Present Day

After learning through a DNA test site that the twin sister she thought had died at birth is really alive, Chicagoan Amelia Brandt heads to Texas to locate and meet her identical twin, Anna. While the reasons why the two were separated at birth are unknown to them, it’s important that Amelia contact Anna because Amelia needs a kidney. Arriving at Anna Drury’s home, it’s no wonder that Amelia shocks her twin because they look alike. Can she forge a friendship with her twin—and get what she needs?

Anna Drury can hardly believe who is at her door. Her identical twin! She believes Amelia is telling the truth, though the other woman offers the DNA test results as proof. Anna had forgotten she ran those a few years ago, having not logged into the site to check in a long time. Anna’s husband, Kevin, is immediately suspicious of Amelia. At first, he thinks she is lying, then wonders why she suddenly showed up out of the blue. What is Amelia Brandt after? For Anna, it doesn’t matter. She feels an immediate connection to her twin, though Amelia is more reticent.

The astonishing story of the twins affects not only them, but Anna’s mother—or the woman she thought was her mother. As THE KEEPSAKE SISTERS opens, we learn that during the birth of the twins, several women were in labor at the Moonglow hospital in the middle of a hurricane. One was Robin Straus, who had her husband, Heathcliff, by her side. An out-of-town couple from Chicago arrives during the storm, the woman in labor with twins and not happy about being pregnant. The lights soon go out. After Robin gives birth to a girl and goes in and out of consciousness, Heathcliff discovers their baby girl is dead. The woman pregnant with twins gives birth to daughters and the midwife, Winnie, is left holding one of the baby girls as they take the other twin to another room. She exchanges a glance with Heathcliff. The rest is history…and fate.

Once I started reading THE KEEPSAKE SISTERS by Lori Wilde, I could hardly set it down. The first meeting of the twins is intense. Just imagine if someone showed up on your doorstep looking exactly like you. Anna is both scared and excited. She wonders how it all happened, but at the same time, she relishes having the sister she only wished she had. After talking about what likely happened, they zero in on Winnie, who now has Alzheimer’s and is currently in a local care facility. Heathcliff Straus died last year and took the secret of what happened to his grave. Robin feels threatened by the appearance of Amelia because if it’s true, then Anna is not really her child. Anna begins fighting with Kevin because he doesn’t trust Amelia. Will she choose her twin over her husband? They have two children. How will the appearance of an unknown relative affect them?

THE KEEPSAKE SISTERS is a wonderfully told tale and for me, one of the best reads so far in 2021. For this reason, I am giving it A Perfect 10. This is not a romance, but instead it is the emotional journey of two women who discover they are twins. That esoteric connection between the twins is very much there. When they are together, Amelia and Anna only need to exchange looks, or touch one another, to feel what the other is feeling. Their upbringings were different, with Amelia raised in wealth, while Anna was raised in a middle-class home. But despite all this, Amelia will be asking Anna to give her something precious. Will it happen?

Don’t miss this inspiring and emotional tale. Pick up a copy of THE KEEPSAKE SISTERS today.

Traveling With T’s Thoughts:

I’ve read a couple of Lori Wilde’s other books and enjoyed them- but this is the first I’ve read out of this series.

What I Liked:

The cover is so dreamy!

The setting of Moonglow Cove. Can I move there?

The twins. Amelia and Anna may have had different upbringings- but their connection was something fierce even in the beginning when Amelia was not sure about Anna’s big hearted ways. I love stories about twins- and this one was definitely meaty enough to satisfy!!!

Bottom line: I’m def recommending that you read The Keepsake Sisters- there are secrets, good times, and heartwarming moments to be had in Moonglow Cove and you def should NOT miss them!

Anna’s life is turned upside down when her identical twin sister Amelia show up on her doorstep. The twin Anna never knew she had. How did the twins get separated? They both have lived polar opposite lives, but the twin connection is there. Lots of emotional issues and conflict in this book. What is the definition of family? Thank you to net galley for an advanced readers copy.

The cover is so inviting and picturesque. The Keepsake Sisters is such a fulfilling read. I've always liked books that end well and everything is sorted out, but never have they been more important in my reading stack than this year. Anna's life is turned upside down when her twins sister, Amelia, materializes out of nowhere. I did think Anna was very hasty, gullible, and way too accepting toward a complete stranger so I think her husband, Kevin's feelings were justified. There was a lot of character development for the main personalities, but Wilde handled all raw emotions with good relevancy. Alls well that ends well and this story does.

I read this book at just the right time. The premise is that twins were separated at birth and grew up in very different homes. They discover each other when one is in desperate need of a kidney transplant. This is not really a romance- it's more accurately women's lit, but the internal and external relationships are really well written. How much can you give of yourself in a relationship and still be true to yourself? How much can you expect in return?

There were some complicated emotional conflicts that sort of... dissolved very quickly. I missed seeing those resolutions play out. Also, interestingly enough- this is the first fiction that I've read in which coronavirus was a part of the background story. That startled me a bit, but overall I enjoyed "The Keepsake Sisters". It grabbed my attention from the very beginning.

My thanks to author Lori Wilde, the publisher, and#NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book.

A stunning story about the definition of family. Seperated at birth identical twin sisters. Appearing the same but very different personalities, very different lives and the age old nature vs nurture question. I was riveted. Absolutely beautiful.
