I usually absolutely love romance books about rescue dogs but for some reason I just couldn't get into this one. I found some of things the main characters did/thought unrealistic and I wasn't a huge fan of this one. However, if you are looking for a quick read about some rescue pups and an ex marine then you might like this one.

Paws for Love was a sweet, romantic read about second chances both in life and in love.

I enjoyed getting to know Danielle and Knox. They were both interesting characters that were dealt a bad hand but have made it through to the other side whole if not a little bit battered. Their romance was slow to pick up (again!) but the connection was always present. I loved how they went from high school sweethearts who hadn't seen each other in 10+ years, to friends who got to know each other again while spending time with their dogs and who eventually turned into lovers that recognize that sometimes you just have to trust in yourself and in others. I enjoyed how their connection deepened with every candid moment they shared and how they both came to grow into a better version of themselves. There were times I wanted to smack them upside their heads for being stubborn and jumping to conclusions, while I also wanted to comfort them and wrap them up in a big bear hug (especially Knox, but who wouldn't?!)

All in all, a fun and sweet second chance romance.

If you need an upbeat story for these long dreary winter days look no further than Paws for Love by Mara Wells. A second chance is what all receive in this story. A veteran, Knox Donovan, who could use rescuing as much as an injured race dog. Life has not turned out in the way that was expected for either. Then there is the former high school sweetheart with the messy breakup and heartache who now rescues retired greyhound racing dogs.

This would have all the makings for a depressing story but it is not. Maybe all the deep-rooted issues seem too easily solved but it is a positive, lighthearted, romance that better days are coming. Sometimes we all needed to remember..

An ARC of the book was provided by the publisher through NetGalley which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This book is the 3rd installment in the Fur Haven series set in Miami, FL.

Danielle and Knox were high school sweethearts in love. Fast forward to today, after a miscarriage, diagnosis, military service and injury, and a greyhound rescue organization, Knox is back in town and because they still run in the same circle, he and Danielle are reacquainted. Danielle has been working in her Dad's veterinarian business, but never went to college for her degree, something her father is concerned about.

This was a fun novel, watching Danielle and Knox work through their past, their pain and trying to resist their attraction. Do they get their HEA? I don't do spoilers, so you'll have to read and find out. I recommend that you do!

Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book, but my opinions are my own.

Who doesn't like a good second chance romance sprinkled with appearances by dogs and puppies? I liked the second chance part of the story because who doesn't remember their first love, but the story was so drawn out. Dani and Knox had complex lives and had been through so much, but the story could've been shortened as the first half was dragged out unnecessarily.

The secondary characters included many friends, relatives, dogs and puppies. Even though this book is part of a series, you get enough backstory on past books that this can be read as a standalone.

I would be open to reading other stories in the series.

What can I say about this book? This book has everything in it! Puppies, puppy love that eventually matures into a forever love, good wholesome family values, a great community, great characters, rip your heart out angst, all of the feels. The emotions are just all over the place. One minute you want to cry the next you want to scream and throw something at the wall. I was so into this book that I just did not want it to end. I loved it from the word go all the way to the ending.

Dani and Know, wow, what a dynamite combination. And talk about stubbornness on both of their parts! You didn't know one minute to the next on whether you want to smack them upside their heads or lock them into a room until they dealt with all their emotional baggage.

This is my kind of romance. Full of heart, heat, and passion but still sweet enough that I feel great at the end of the story and begging for more. Because I am! Begging for more! I cannot wait for the next book. I really hope that these two love birds will have some kind of role in the next one and we get to get another glimpse of all of those sweet loving puppies!!!

I loved this book! Not a boring second to be found. It made me feel so blessed that I had my own husband and puppy to hug and squeeze after reading this. Mara Wells is a wonderful writer. Her books are all heart and all puppies.

I received this book to read and review by NetGalley. All opinions are honest and my own.

This was a book i really liked. The characters were easily likeable, fun and had the dose of character development i like. The story was adorable, nice and had a bit sad moments but they soon changed. Plus, there were dogs. I`m a sucker for books involving animals!

Paws for Love is the third book in the Fur Haven Dog Park series by Mara Wells, and is my favorite of the three. This book is a second chance romance between Knox and Danielle who were together in high school but broke up following a miscarriage at the age of 18. Knox went on to join the Marines and Danielle leaned on her father as she put her life back together. Fifteen years later they are reunited with past struggles and secrets to work through.

I really did love this book. I liked both characters and how they revealed that neither one had gotten over their love for the other. The greyhound dogs in this one were adorable, especially Sarge who found his person in Knox. We are able to see how the other couples from the previous books are doing as well as their dogs. The only thing I wished was that Danielle would have trusted Knox with her secret sooner and given them more time to work through it. Once the secret (which I figured out early on) was revealed, the conclusion was rather abrupt. I wholly recommend this book and series. While not absolutely necessary to read the books in the Fur Haven Dog Park series in order, I think the reader would have better insight into the story if they were to do so.

My sincere thanks to Sourcebooks Casablanca and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read this book and give my unbiased opinion of it.

Paws for Love is the third book in the Fur Haven Dog Park series but was still great reading as a stand-alone. It’s a charming second chance romance with wonderful characters. It was fast-paced and easy to read. The characters were easy to connect with and genuine. I always enjoy reading books with dogs in them and this was a perfect example of the companionship dogs provide for veterans.
I received an ARC and am willingly leaving a review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Dogs and romance. What is not to like? Feel like good rom-com about high school sweethearts who reunite years later.

At times the story dragged but it was enjoyable. Despite being predictable like most rom-coms, the characters were likable and the dogs added to the fun

Paws for Love is a quick, fun, dog loving second chance romance. Knox is back in town helping his family rebuild a condo complex when he runs into his past love Danielle. Danielle is running Homestretch, where she finds loving forever homes for greyhounds. Sarge being one of them. Sometimes dogs pick their owners, and in this case that is exactly what Sarge does. He bonds with Knox right away, as they both share a leg injury. From there Danielle uses Sarge as a front for seeing Knox more and more often, so from the moment these two run into each other again, to the moment it ends you're left cheering for them to wind up together. And for Sarge to have the forever home he wants. But will Danielle ever truly trust Knox again, after their tricky past? And will Knox step up to the plate and become the dog-dad readers (and Sarge) want him to be?
The way the author incorporates the character's love of dogs and how those dogs communicate their love for their human parents is simply adorable. In addition to the growing interests between the main characters, there are the budding friendships that Danielle has. She has spent a lot of her adult life without true girlfriends and it was nice to see how she develops those friendships alongside their love for their dogs. The women she befriends truly want her to succeed and will do anything to make that happen. The author successfully blends the characters love for dogs into the overall plot and effectively uses those dogs to help bridge the gap in interactions that could've otherwise been awkward. Overall, this book was lighthearted and a quick read for anyone looking for love's second chance.

I received an advanced reader copy of this book from NetGalley for my honest opinion.

Danielle Murrow and Knox Donovan were high school sweethearts who suffered through a miscarriage then a broken engagement. Fifteen years have passed, and both are now broken people trying to deal with their respective issues. Knox joined the Marines after breaking things off with Dani, and his leg was severely injured due to an IED. He hopes that he can return to duty, but after two years of rehab, he is not sure it will happen. He is at a crossroads and seeing Dani again makes him want to try again with her. Dani is stalled in life. She wanted to become a veterinarian like her father, but didn’t go to college and now works for her father as an assistant and runs a greyhound rescue. Can Dani give Knox a second chance after he thoroughly broke her heart the first time?

I think my main problem with this book, and the prior book in the series, is that the characters have some deep-seated issues that could use a good therapist. But suddenly at the end of the book, these issues magically disappear and everyone is happy. Overall, this was an enjoyable book.

"That's the thing about dogs. They don't need a reason to love you. They just do."

It's been fifteen years since Miami Beach high-school sweethearts Danielle Morrow and Knox Donovan have seen each other. The last time, Danielle had lost their baby and Knox was enlisting with the Marines. They never got to say goodbye.

Now Danielle runs foster care for retired racing greyhounds and works with her father, Dr. Morrow at his clinic. She has two rescues of her own and she guards her heart from ever loving again.

Knox quietly sneaks into town and starts working construction with his two brothers. He has a leg injury after surviving an IED in Afghanistan and regularly goes to therapy, hoping someday he'll be able to return to combat. He's much more hardened and protective of his heart, as well.

Both are secretly happy to see the other at the opening of the Fur Haven Dog Park. but there is still a lot of hurt and unspoken words between them. Both think the other doesn't want them, but nothing could be further from the truth.

PAWS FOR LOVE is all about second chances and recognizing your soul mate no matter how scary it is. Eventually Danielle and Knox try to give their relationship another chance, but is it too late? Have they hurt one another too much?

I like the main characters of Danielle and Knox and their menagerie of quirky friends. I also appreciated that the book takes place where I live, in Miami. It was fun to recognize some of the locations used in the book.

PAWS FOR LOVE is the perfect book to wrap your heart around this Valentine's Day weekend.

I have been provided with a review copy of Paws for Love from NetGalley for an impartial review. This is the third book in the brand-new Fur Haven Dog Park series and I just loved getting to reenter this amazing world. I just really enjoyed this story and I just didn’t want it to end. I just lost myself in and I just couldn’t get enough of these interesting characters. I can’t wait to see what’s next from this author.

This had a ton of stuff that I like: hunky military man, strong heroine, dogs and second chance romance but somehow this still fell a bit flat for me. I think it’s mostly the communication issues and the pacing.
The dogs were cute and the romance was sweet (once communication issues surpassed).
All in all this was an ok read for me.

Paws For Love, is a great Second Chance romance novel. And as a bonus there are lots of dogs and puppies.

Knox and Danielle were high school sweethearts, but he broke their relationship off before joining the Marine Corps. When he returns home injured, he is the perfect match for the injured dog that Danielle is fostering. The dog realizes that immediately, but humans sometimes take longer.

I love second-chance romances. I love that there is history, and it feels like the feelings and love are real. And I adore dogs, so I love a story that focuses on a dog rescue organization. Seeing Knox develop a relationship with his brothers added further depth to the book. All of the characters (and dogs!) were well written with great personality.

The middle of the story went a bit slowly for me, as I wished that they were more honest with each other. But that part felt real, too. This is a great book for anyone who, like me, loves dogs and second chances at love.

Thank you to Sourcebooks Casablanca and NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Another Donovan reunites with an ex. A lovely second-chance romance story.

Paws for Love by Mara Wells is the third book in her Fur Haven Dog Park series. This book is a great addition to the series. The third Donovan brother, Knox Donovan is the hero of the story. He is reunited with the girl he left behind after high school graduation when he joined the marines. He's back in Miami Beach helping with the remodel of the Dorothy the family's aging 55 plus Art Deco condo building after a severe leg injury ended his military career.

Danielle Morrow never made it to veterinarian school but has fulfilled her life assisting at her father's vet practice and working as the adoption coordinator for her greyhound rescue program, Homestretch. Danielle has mixed feelings about Knox but seeing him again has awakened old feelings. But due to her big secret they can't have a Happily Ever After or can they?

I enjoyed this story, especially all the scenes with the greyhounds. I loved how the rescue greyhound Sarge fell for Knox at first sight. The scene when the greyhound puppies were born was very poignant.
