This book was such a pleasant surprise. If it wasn’t for my fellow trusted Bookstagrammers raving about it I probably wouldn't have picked it up.

TW for anxiety and childhood abandonment.

I adored this refreshing romance story between an entertainment blogger and an improv actor. This book’s a captivating mix of romance, steam and compelling neurodiverse characters. Hollyn and Jasper’s chemistry was electric and I loved the dialogue and emotional and physical intimacy the author created between these characters.

YES & I LOVE YOU also challenged the stereotypical ideas I had about Tourette’s Syndrome and has given me a whole new understanding of its meaning and symptoms. Thanks for that!

Yes and I Love You was a true delight. I picked it up on a whim and devoured it! I’ve loved some of Loren’s other titles in the past but this might be one of my favorites from her.

This was my first romance with Tourette’s representation and I loved how Loren depicted different types of tics and anxiety. Hollyn and Jasper we’re both such well done characters, and their chemistry together was fantastic. I loved how this story played out! Five stars! I cannot wait to read the next book in this series.

Sometimes you read a book that leaves you with so many good feelings that you want to dive into it again just to see if you can keep them going and that’s exactly how I felt when I finished Yes & I Love You. I loved the way author Roni Loren wrote characters who were marginalized and underrepresented in most of the arts and I applaud her for that, in addition I felt she was respectful of their disorders and the way they can affect a person’s life. This book had a different feel from Ms. Loren’s other books but not in a bad way, it was lighter and had a bit more of a women’s fiction vibe (but this heavy romantic elements). I was mesmerized by these characters, their story, and invested in getting to the end to see how it would all turn out.

Living with social anxiety brought on by her Tourette syndrome, Hollyn Tate is doing her best at getting out and having a life in her new home town of New Orleans. Spurred on by her therapist, and her best friend who lives in Baton Rouge, Hollyn rents office space in WorkAround, a co-op office for creative types. Hollyn is Miz Poppy, an arts and entertainment journalist whose real identity isn’t known by anyone other than her, her best friend, and her boss. She is still not completely comfortable in her office space, but she knows she needs to be around other people even if it terrifies her. Jasper Deares is back in New Orleans after a short stint in L.A. where his then girlfriend made it and he crashed and burned. He’s taken a job as a barista at WorkAround while continuing to work with the Improv group, Hell Yes! The minute they meet there’s attraction which causes Hollyn to give off not interested vibes to Jasper who she believes is totally out of her league, little does she know he’s feeling the same way.

Hollyn amazed me throughout this book, she struggled, yet she kept putting herself out these and began to realize that she was holding herself back. She was smart, funny, snarky, and so damn resilient. Her life hadn’t been easy from bullying to being sheltered, yet she managed to go to college, have a first relationship with someone she trusted, and finally moving to a new city on her own. I loved watching her make friends, and opening up and asking for what she wanted from Jasper.

I love watching their friendship bloom and the way Jasper helped Hollyn begin to see that everyone had their own insecurities. The more comfortable Hollyn was around Jasper, the more she opened up to other people she came into contact with which enabled her to take the steps she needed to keep her job.

While I wasn’t thrilled with the ex’s drama, Cal’s relationship as Hollyn’s best friend was important and even though he threw a wrench into her life, it was actually good because it forced her to make some decisions with the help of an on page therapy session. I could have done without Jasper’s ex-girlfriend reappearing yet her callousness led Jasper to figuring out what was important in life.

I enjoyed every unique moment of Yes & I Love You; the dialog was smart, the characters well developed and quirky, and the pace kept me captivated from start to finish.

A charming story about real but imperfect people who find their match and fall in love. Great dialogue and characters. The pacing is wonderful. The plot is solid and believable.

There was a lot to love about Yes & I Love You. Hollyn was a fantastic lead. I related to her in many ways when it came to anxiety and putting herself out there. I found her journey towards more confidence incredibly inspiring. I really loved the slow burn build from friends to lovers to more between Hollyn and Jasper. It didn’t feel forced or fake. Their chemistry was incredible and that led to some super steamy scenes. (And a whole bunch of emotions from yours truly.) This was a very sex-positive book and Hollyn’s freedom to explore her sexuality was a big theme.

If I’m being honest, I was a little on the fence about Jasper for a good portion of the book. It was impossible not to like him on some level because he was so very charming. But, I definitely gave him the side-eye at times, mostly because I wasn’t sure how his career aspirations would impact the growing relationship between him and Hollyn. And, yeah, it got messy. I even wondered at one point if she might be better off with Cal. (Yes, this is love triangle-ish lite.)

When it was all said and done, I was entirely on board with Hollyn and Jasper. I was proud of both of them for how far they’d come. I’m super excited to read the second book soon!

Let me start by saying that Roni is a new author to me, but the writing in this book was one of the things that made me fall for her work. The first part of this book is a bit slow, but after a while and when you are already deep into the story the pages flew by me, so I would say that this was very well-paced.

Another of my favorite aspects was the representation. I don't have a personal approach to these issues so I can't say if the characters were well done or not, but the way they were presented seemed respectful to me, and more diversity is always needed so I would happily read more books like that. All in all, it was a fun and sweet read. The only downside for me was all the major twist being related to another woman/man drama, but it's a matter of taste and I particularly don't enjoy love triangles.

A book I picked up in a book slump, with some trepidation, but I just needed a contemporary. And starting out I was worried it wasn’t the best of decisions. But lo and behold, I got to about 25% before I knew it and after that I could not put it down. The author tackles some sticky subjects in the book, with excellent neurodiverse rep and a story of how a most unlikely pair of a regular boy and girl can have the grandest love story. She does all this without compromising on the romance or her signature heat, peppered with a balance of emotional moments. That’s what rounds out the book perfectly.

I thought the hero would do something almost unforgivable there at the end, but nope, for the most part, Jasper is sweet and nerdy and very swoony. Hollyn is the girl next door of the modern romcom with actual human problems and who we all root for to have it all, her career and her man, all while kicking arse of her insecurities and personal obstacles. Their love story is engaging and poignant and totally heartwarming and steamy as all get out against a backdrop of modern workplaces and the NoLa improv scene, a rather unique setting.

Holly lives in the movie in her head, instead of facing the crippling anxiety of meeting new people or having others notice her tics from Tourette’s. Hiding behind the screen, Hollyn reviews movies and local entertainment acts. When she meets improv actor Jasper, he forces her out of her shell in this open door, steamy romance.

This book is smart and witty, with just the right amount of steam. The characters all compliment each other beautifully and the chemistry between Hollyn and Jasper was on point. Yes & I Love You celebrates differences, neurodiversity, and following your heart.

"Everyone knows Miz Poppy, the vibrant reviewer whose commentary brightens the New Orleans nightlife. But no one knows Hollyn, the real face behind the media star...or the fear that keeps her isolated. When her boss tells her she needs to add video to her blog or lose her job, she's forced to rely on an unexpected source to help her face her fears.

When aspiring actor Jasper Deares finds out the shy woman who orders coffee every day is actually Miz Poppy, he realizes he has a golden opportunity to get the media attention his acting career needs. All he has to do is help Hollyn come out of her shell…and through their growing connection, finally find her voice."

Roni Loren has hit on the perfect balance between drama, humor and spicy romance with her "Say Everything" series. The story is heartfelt and well-written.

I loved this romantic comedy about Hollyn Tate, a popular life style blogger who hides behind Miz Poppy, her online persona; and Jasper, an improv comedian who is overcoming his own insecurities. Hollyn learns that she'll have to reveal herself to keep her job and Jasper needs a big break to realize his dream of opening an improv theater. They decide to help each other out and the result is a fun and flirty story of coming into your own and finding love. Highly recommend!

I recently read Yes and I Love you and then immediately read What If You and Me. Both books are by @roniloren. I enjoyed both of these books that shed a little light on what it’s like to date with a disability and mental health hang ups.

Yes and I Love You was my favorite of the two. Hollyn has Tourette Syndrome and has let it hold her back because she’s afraid people will talk about her. She meets Jasper one day and he helps her express herself through improv. I found their relationship to be very real and genuine. Jasper was so sweet with Hollyn and really helped her overcome her fears of public speaking.

4.5 star ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫

This book is perfect! Featuring a character with severe social anxiety and Tourette’s, Hollyn has to figure out how to overcome what she thinks is holding her back. In comes Jasper, who also has his own struggles, and the two think they can help each other out.

There was a beautiful balance of romcom and also drama to this book. It has more depth than the average romcom.

I really enjoyed this book and all the side characters!

This book is the cutest! Between her Tourette’s and his ADHD that causes impulsivity, Hollyn Tate and Jasper Deares have faced and triumphed over nearly insurmountable odds. Yet, when he brings her a coffee his first day on a new job, fate takes a stand. Due to facial tics that are especially triggered when she’s attracted to someone, she gives him the impression that she views him with disdain. However, ever optimistic and charming Jasper doesn’t let that deter him from getting to know her. And thus begins a relationship that rivals the best of movie rom-coms.

Jasper’s dream is to be a successful actor, and the path begins with his improv group. When he runs into an old friend who floats the idea of buying and renovating an old New Orleans theater to serve as his group’s home base, Jasper’s past as an abandoned foster child and his academic failures make him doubt his abilities. Hollyn, who has stepped out of her comfort zone by moving into the city and working in a shared WeWork-type office space where she writes anonymous, popular entertainment reviews as Miz Poppy, avoids human connection fearing rejection based on trauma from childhood bullying. When Jasper guesses her secret and learns that she’ll need to reveal herself to keep her job, they decide on a mutually beneficial arrangement. In the process, their friendship grows and their blatant honesty allows them to be vulnerable and draw strength from each other.

This story has all of the elements that make for a memorable friends-to-lovers romance. Loren has done a masterful job combining this trope with a love triangle reminiscent of Pretty in Pink featuring her best friend and first love Cal. She also introduces Andi, a true-crime writer and podcaster, who becomes Hollyn’s first female friend (and the heroine in the next book in the series). If you love rom-coms with witty banter, genuine friendship, male unicorns, personal growth, and improv comedy, pick this delightful book up! Highly recommended.

I received a complimentary ARC of this book from Soucebooks Casablanca through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Opinions expressed are completely my own.

Quick read with really great characters who hook you from the jump. I love how there is going to be a second book coming for this too! In this book I especially appreciated the heroine’s willingness to grow and stretch, but an acknowledgment of the difficulties that brings. Definitely has the steaminess Roni is known, but it is not formulaic and ends at a good pace.

I'm not a big fan of the fake dating trope but Loren has created a wonderful and unique character in Hollyn. Jasper, not so much, but I overlooked him because I liked her so much. Her Tourette's and anxiety were handled with sensitivity. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. A good read.

Ok, let's be honest. I only picked up this book because of the gigantic blurb from Colleen Hoover on the cover. I reckoned if it was good enough for CoHo to recommend, it would be good enough for me. And I wasn't wrong!

I'm not a big romance reader in the first place, but this one didn't make me cringe at all. It was refreshing to see a main character like Hollyn who was a strong character, high achiever, and managed to overcome her personal life challenges around her tics (she had Tourette syndrome).

The romance was fresh - even though the story plot could've fallen to the cliche side, the execution was really unique. The settings, the dialogues, and the side characters were great. The business talks on the side were also great (let's bring in more technical stuff into stories, people!). And I thought it was quite amusing that the 'stable' love candidate was a musician; it wasn't every day that I read a rock star being labelled as more 'established' than a Business Owner to-be. It wasn't wrong at all, I actually thought it was a good example of how the book made choices that were not cliches.

As a theatre nerd in high school who almost religiously watched whose line is it anyways this book spoke to me! I love it. Loved loved loved it. The characters were relatable and the romance heartfelt.

The main character Hollyn is an entertainment blogger with Tourette Syndrome. She is trying to become a full-time entertainment journalist at a local newspaper but feels apprehension about writing with her own name and face instead of her online persona Miz Poppy.

I really liked the premise of this story; a shy nerd attempting to break out of her shell finding success and love. Who doesn't love an underdog plot? But I became uninterested as soon as a scheme brewed between Hollyn and her love interest, Jasper. That's where I tapped out not being interested in how down on his luck actor Jasper was going to open up the world for Hollyn. So I admit I didn't finish the book. I love Roni Loren and I'm sure the ending was her usual mix of heart-stopping realization of undeniable love for Hollyn or Jasper because one of them screwed up (bet), however, the hook wasn't strong enough to keep me reading.

Thank you netgalley for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This was a disappointing novel by a favorite author of mine. The pace of this story was so slow and dragged. Yes, I appreciate that the author wants to build a solid friendship between Holly and Jasper but their interactions ended up tense and awkward. Just too much packed in a short novel. J
