Tara Sue Me is an incredible author, but Madame President wasn't her best work. It wasn't bad by any means, it just didn't suck me in other other books of hers. A solid 3 star read though.

This was a very fun romance novel! I really liked it! It was everything that a romantic comedy should be! I also love the idea of a female president! Overall, this is a must read for fans of Meg Cabot!

I loved this book. As the ending was a bit predictable for me, it still kept my interest throughout. I loved the MC.

This is about the first female president, Anna (who is a 36-year-old Independent) and famous news correspondent, Navin. The two were law school classmates twelve years ago and had one night together. Their paths cross now that Anna is the President and Navin has been demoted to work in the press pool.

Ok - if you take this at face value, it’s a second chance romance. If you start getting into the details, it’s doesn’t really work (no way Anna gets elected, why they broke up was stupid, etc. etc.). I read it for the romance, so it was fine. Also, the cover made Anna look more like Toddlers & Tiaras than Presidential.

DNF- couldn’t engage with the story as much as I had hoped. Lots of potential for the book and might be a better fit for other readers! One I will keep in mind for recommendations at my library.

Madame President is a different spin on a romance - I have not read a story about a female President before, especially one who is single. I liked the characters, they were interesting and complex and I definitely rooted for them. I would have loved to see a prequel novel more closely tied to the campaign, I just wanted more of who she is and how she came to be president. This was very enjoyable and a quick read, with a satisfying ending.

I love to imagine a world where a woman is president. Anna Fitzpatrick is enigamatic, beautiful, and savvy. The alternating viewpoints with journalist Navin Hazar detail her life in the public eye, under scrutiny and feeling like she's always presenting her public Face. HOwever, Navin sees through her masks. Their previous relationship in law schools sets the foundation for a renewal of affection. Some of the details, like Navin's network "punishing" him for not disclosing he knew the president during law school, seemed dramatic and unrealistic. Anna is almost too young and perfect but she also seems appealing and like a person you would want to know. I'd love to keep track of their story.

I received an ARC of this book from Netgalley. With a name like Madame President, you might expect it to be overtly political, but it is not. In fact, the author goes to the effort of describing President Anna Elizabeth Fitzpatrick as an Independent candidate who, unbelievably, receives over 50% of the popular vote. She is, naturally, the exact kind of leader we need because she is intelligent, compassionate, thoughtful, confident, and driven by a desire to make the world a better place. Unfortunately, she is also the kind of leader we will rebuff, and I don’t think I’m saying anything too controversial when I blame it on misogyny. Although, the fact that she was single may have been a point in her favor, since she didn’t have to deal with her opponents and the media blaming her for her husband’s behavior.

This is a second-chance love story and the President’s love interest is Navin Hazar, the “one who got away” while they were in law school at Harvard. From the outset, it’s unlikely the two of them can find a workaround for a relationship because he works for a major news network. That automatically makes him a potential enemy and undermines trust. On top of that, there’s a mole in the administration, who is never actually identified (which I found disappointing). Navin has the utmost respect for Anna and cautions (in his thoughts): “But never forget that she is dangerous and can cut you into shreds while being so charming, you won’t know you’re bleeding until she’s gone.”

Anna’ best friend is very concerned about how Anna will be able to date, asking her, “How are you going to have sex while in office?” When Anna says she wasn’t planning on having any, her friend is aghast, asking, “For four years?” Anna’s response is priceless, “Eight if I’m lucky.”

One of my favorite scenes from the book is the one in which Navin is preparing to interview Anna before the camera crew. When he asks if she’s ready, she says, “As much as I could be prepared to be drilled by you.” She is unaware of the double-entendre until he responds by sucking in a breath, shifting uncomfortable in his chair, and muttering, “Fuck. Fuck. Fuck.” Not to be outdone, he responds in kind during the interview, thanking her for taking the time for the interview and telling her, “I know it’s hard for you,” placing emphasis on the last three words.

One of the things that made Anna so relatable from the beginning was her admission that she never intended to run for office and said “no sane person ever ran for political office.” Never say never, as they say. After stewing on it for a while, she realized that she could never make the kinds of changes she desired without expanding her platform. It’s one thing to fight for clients and their rights under the law; it’s another to have a direct effect on the law, to actually shape it. Her philosophy is an admirable one: “There’s a place for each of us at the table, but we must all move a bit closer to the middle to ensure everyone gets a seat.”

I liked the book, which, in addition to being a contemporary romance, might alternately be classified as a fantasy. There are many reasons I say that. For one, it’s hard for me to imagine a reality in which Americans set aside their differences and overwhelmingly vote for a woman, especially one who is strong, confident, and doesn’t hesitate to point out corruption where she sees it. Once she’s in office, she manages to convince “both sides” to work together for the American people. Ha. The other part that’s inspiring, while at the same time barely believable, is the idea that anyone would set aside their own personal happiness for the greater good. Lately, I’ve become a bit cynical. I want to believe in this kind of a scenario, but for now, I’ll have to rely on fiction to paint the picture.

This was an interesting premise, and to my mond, it worked. There were some unlikely events that took place, but they were within the realm of possibility. It would be very awkward to be a single president who wanted to date! I can’t even imagine!

An entertaining book. Anna Fitzpatrick is the President of the United States, her life's dream. She is known for her intelligence, talent but most of all, her charisma. Some years ago, Anna broke off with a man who didn't love her. This situation hurt her, so she promised herself to keep striving for a successful life. Not only that, but Anna also promised herself to remain single for her entire tenure as she wants to be able to fulfill her duty. Navin Hazar is one of the stars in the world of news. His talent is impressive. He knows Anna well, and her boss assigns her the job of being in the White House. I liked Anna's determination to do her job well. It was a pleasant adventure to read this book. This book meant so much right now that we are living the electoral season. The author tells the story from the point of view of Anna and Navin. It is not a typical love story. I loved that it has many moments that I did not expect. I thank NetGalley and After Six Publishing for providing me with a copy of the book in exchange for my honest review.

This was just not what I wanted. There was almost no chemistry between the main characters, and a lot of time was spent telling us Anna was somehow a special kind of person, but it was never really shown to be the case. Storylines were introduced and then dropped without any resolve whatsoever. I'm also pretty sure that the maths is wrong when it comes to the storyline involving Navin's sister, and I could no longer suspend my disbelief once I realised that.

Ultimately, this was a boring romance that never really managed to capture my attention.

Yes yes finally a woman President only if it was real. I needed a distraction from my life and Tara always captivate me with her words. I have read most of Tara books and this one was so different from her. I'm shocked at the few sex scenes and they weren't described. Other than it was a cute read. I did find myself shedding a tear.

Its a second chance at love story. Love always finds us when we are not ready for it.

Thanks to Netgalley for approving me to read this one.

Is it possible for the first woman president to fall in love without the whole world watching? This is an intriguing romance about Navin and Anna, two successful people, who knew each other in law school and reconnect again.

Anna is now the newly elected president of the United States and Navin is a prominent news anchor, demoted to the presidential press corp. Navin is not happy about his demotion. The one positive about his new position, is being close to Anna again, and just maybe getting a second chance with her.

Navin is smart, charming, successful and quite the catch. He loves his family and is willing to make the ultimate sacrifice for them. Navin cares about Anna and is honest and open with her. Unfortunately, Anna isn’t sure who she can trust, so she keeps Navin at arm's length.

There is so much chemistry flowing between Navina and Anna unfortunately, things never seem to work out between them. I loved these two together and I really wanted them to find their HEA. However, there always seem to forces working against them. There is some intrigue when it is discovered there is a mole in the president's inner circle.

I thoroughly enjoyed this engaging story and the characters. I found myself quickly turning the pages to find out what would happen next. My only issue was with the ending. I was left with a few questions and would have liked a longer epilogue because I was so invested in the characters, I needed more.

Hands down my favorite book that I have read by Tara Sue Me! I got lost in the pages and the story and read in one sitting!

I voluntarily reviewed this book.

This book is a total departure from Ms. Sue Me's earlier erotic fare. This is a beautiful story of two people who find love despite all odds. Anna Fritzpatrick is determined to focus on her job as the President of the United States giving up all thoughts of a personal relationship but then when an old acquaintance becomes a part of her press pool he poses an irresistible temptation.  Will she break a campaign promise for love?
Anna and Navin Hazar had once studied at Harvard together. They had been a part of the same study group and had enjoyed one night of unforgettable sex before Navin disappeared from her life. Now Anna has just won the presidency of the United States of America and Navin is the television anchorman of one of the leading news channels and media's golden boy.  Navin turns down Anna's invitation to escort her to the inaugural balls but finds himself escorting her all the same when her escort a recovering military hero finds himself unable to continue.
For his transgressions he's demoted from his prestigious position to the president's press pool. Despite all odds the two of them find they cannot ignore the other and find themselves connecting over unexpected work and persona opportunities. Their romance finds itself making its way through the white house from the oval office to private breakfast rooms to the president's bedroom. Someone however is spying on them and pictures of their shared secret moments are leaked. There's no help for it. Anna won't jeopardize the presidency and Navin won't go back to what he once did.
The story flows seamlessly and believably.  This book is touted as a stand alone so I'm not sure what the author has in mind from a future perspective for these two protagonists but I am a bit peeved that she never reveals who the spy is and what their motive is.

***I received an ebook copy from the publisher at no cost***

This book is a departure from what I've come to expect from Tara Sue Me, and I absolutely loved it.

Anna gives me lots of Madam Secretary vibes. She's strong, confident, and motivated to succeed. She's won over the American people. Being the first female President of the US is a big task but she's up for it and she'll stop at nothing to be the best. And she isn't afraid to go toe-to-toe with those people who don't think she's fit for the position she's in.

Navin Hazar is a new anchor on one of the most popular networks in the US—and happens to have history with Anna, which isn't common knowledge over the course of her campaign. Of course once she's in office the news comes out, and Navin finds himself working as part of the White House press pool, but not by choice.

Second-chance romances are my jam and Tara Sue Me did a good job of getting me hooked on this story. It's a slow, but sweet and satisfying burn. Despite not having seen each other for many years, there's so much chemistry there between Anna and Navin. I loved that even though they knew one another, they had to rediscover each other.

This book was easy to read and moved quickly. There's some drama in the story, not just from the romance but from some things that happen within Anna's administration and team. I love political fiction stories, so I really enjoyed that component. And the characters are nicely developed and fun to read as well.

Five stars to this novel!

This is a really intriguing book about a female president and the impact holding this office could have on her love life. At 36, Anna is relatively young (certainly by today’s standards) to be elected president. She has vowed to be faithful to the office, and not get ‘distracted’ by getting involved romantically while in office. Then she crosses paths with her old flame Navin, and of course sparks fly. I liked how this book was written, that it didn’t get stuck focusing on the romance, but also dealt with issues facing a president—the compromises needed, playing to both parties to accomplish her goals, and the lack of sleep the office inherently encompasses. The relationship/romance was a real slow burn (at times too slow), and didn’t dominate the plot as a single focus, but let the office of the president and all it includes be a main part of the story. It felt incomplete, however, as the concept of a mole on Anna’s staff was introduced early on, played a significant role in the twists and turns of her relationship with Navin, but was never resolved or revealed. I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley. This is my freely given, honest review.
