Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for the gifted copy, all thoughts are my own

I'm a sucker for mafia romance. This book was no exception.

Tempted reads really quickly, I honestly wish it was longer but am happy to see it's the first in a series. It contains a lot of flirting, banter, a bit of steam, and some action.

There are also sweet moments, sassy moments and times you may just want to shake a certain character (cough, cough, *Daniel*).

Definitely worth the read if you enjoy dark or mafia romance.

It was all so rushed. Would have loved to see the characters growth. The story had so much potential as to where it could go and did but it was all so hurried so the reader isn’t given enough time to enjoy the characters and the life they are building.

ARC kindly provided in exchange for an honest review.

Quick but a disappointing book. It's more of a contemporary romance than a mafia romance. Daniel Marino is a CEO who decided to go into the mafia business (he's a son of the Don but he doesn't really delve into the dark side as he runs his own company) but without a secretary, it's difficult to organize everything and hires Laura Byrne.

These two hit off right away and the insta-connection irks me. It's not even an enemies-to-lovers. The lack of character development is a let down. For a made man, Daniel is too weak for my taste and he's quite dumb. The mafia aspect is just inserted here and truly, there's zero build up. The conflict easily resolved and I find it unbelievable.

This book has a potential. It just needs direction and more research about mafia.

First off, this book was a fast paced read which I don’t normally enjoy. However, it did give me a chance to read a short mafia romance which I’m not too familiar with. Daniel and Laura have some good banter, but sadly it felt too rushed at times. I was really enjoying the first half of the book but it was as if someone cut out 100 pages in between. I can get past the minimal background information as it will probably be brought up in the next book. My biggest issue with the book is the writing. Don’t get me wrong, it was well written in some parts but almost felt like a teen romance with the ex-girlfriend drama. With everything being said, I would still consider reading book two in the future to see how their dynamic changes once being fully surrounded by the mafia. However, if you’re looking for a unique mafia romance though, I would say to pass.

I'm going to be brutally honest - I didn't like this novella at all. The writing was okay-'ish', but the story was cringe-worthy. Both Daniel and Laura's points of view sounded exactly the same and the characters were cookie cutter. The author's narration sounded like the voice over from a cheesy old mob movie from the 30's or 40's. I have read thousands of books in the last few years (all romances) and this one doesn't make the cut. Sorry. My thanks go to NetGalley and the publisher for gifting me the e-ARC in return for my honest opinion.

Thanks to @netgalley and @booksgosocialgroup for giving me this book in exchange for an honest review!

If you’re looking for a fast paced quick read romance then I have just the book for you! Tempted by: Anna Ray starts out from Daniels perspective a self made businessman who is a womanizer. Recently out of a relationship that was going no where he decides to join his family business... as a “mobster”. In the next chapter we meet Laura who has an interview at Daniels real-estate company. Thinking of her sick mother when Daniel offers her the job she accepts. Little did she know she set into motion a “mafia romance”.

This was a super quick and refreshing read. I highly recommend it if you’re looking for something to help you get out of a book slump. It’s very fast paced and a little 💨steamy💨

Don’t read this book if you’re looking for something super 💨steamy💨 as this book is PG-13 at best.

A romance between realty businessman Daniel and Laura, who is his new Personal Assistant at the office. The book was pretty fun and I flew through it but it felt rushed and a little abrupt.

Not bad for a debut novella. It was a quick read and you definitely know how it will end. I found Laura to be an intelligent girl for her age but later in the story she became a little annoying for me.

Daniel seemed a tad juvenile but redeemed himself later in the book. The writing flowed well and there was a HEA which was nice.

Thanks to Netgalley and BooksGoSocial for the opportunity to read and review this book.

This book was a lot shorter than I anticipated. I think I read it in about an hour.
The story itself was very straight forward, exactly as it’s described in the Synopsis. No big twists or surprises.
There was absolutely no character development or even very much relationship development between the two characters. Definitely an ‘instant attraction’ thing.
I think it would have been better if it was expanded up. More chapters explaining about the characters theme selves and building their relationship as it kind of went from 0-60 in 1 second.
The writing itself was good and it was an enjoyable read. Wish it had Lended itself more towards the mafia side of things as that was minimal as well.
Overall a good read but lacking due to the shortness of the story itself.

Really liked the story line and writing style. It was easy to read and easy to get caught up in.
Can't wait to read more about Laura and Daniels story.

I enjoyed this book. Not much violence for a Mafia story. Daniel usually has one night stands but when he hires Laura as his personal assistant he's meet his match. She is attracted to him also.

This is the first book in this latest Mafia romance series and it is actually a combination mafia/office romance It is only a fast read as it only took about an hour to read so perfect for when you don't have a lot of time

Daniel Marino is only interested in making money and quick flings he has no intention of ever having a committed relationship and he rends to go through PA because he keeps having said flings with them Now he has a new PA Laura Byrne and he is determined that the same thing won't happen again he will stay away from her which is going to be easy as she is the first woman that has ever resisted him. As his illegal business deals put Laura in the cross hairs of his business partners he starts to realise just what she has started to mean to him and he will do whatever he needs to in an effort to keep her safe.

This was an incredibly short read. For lovers of novellas and short-stories this is perfect, for me I felt it lacked any kind of depth or plot development. Naturally the focus was on the romance, however, the novel is described as a Mafia story, but there is very little Mafia. It's good to see that this is the beginning of a series, I hope to see growth of a story in the future series!

This was everything I look for in a mafia book. It was not however enemies to lovers. There was mafia son/boss, ex-girlfriend, innocent new girl, suspense, etc. BUT IT WASN'T LONG ENOUGH.
This had so much potential and it was just cut short, it skipped weeks at a time in the most meaningful parts of their relationship and not enough detail with the mafia. UGH. Left feeling frustrated because this would have been an AMAZING book if it had just been longer and had more detail.
Overall, the story line was awesome, the writing was incredible, I just got left wishing for more.

This is the story of Daniel, a CEO and his new secretary, Laura, as they fall in love and navigate his new found wish of getting into his family mafia business after building his own all legal.

It's a short, pretty steamy book, perfect for your romance fix. Although there is not much violence for a mafia book, there is still some. The hero is not your bad guy turned all mushy for the one he loves. He is a player, has the traits of one and barely admits his love. There are not many affectionate moments along the steamy ones, just scenes where he is protective. So not too much romance, to be honest. The heroine is getting in all this because she has to provide money for her mother's treatment, but she keeps her independence and wittiness until the end. I like how she was always a companion, almost an equal for Daniel. Though she says she feels like she's not, her actions make her an intelligent, steady your woman.

The book opens with the hero having relationship with someone else(s) other than the heroine, before she enters the scene, so if this is something you don't like, be advised.

All in all, this is a short length story, so it may not be perfectly rounded or full of details. A quick read, some hot moments and a heroine that stands up for her maturity and independence.

This sounded like a good book, but I was a little disappointed. It seemed to lack depth and could have been better if the characters and the plot were developed more. Hopefully, the books following will be better.

This is a solid mafia/ office romance read. It’s a short novella, that works well as a prequel to a series or included in an anthology to introduce you to this series or Author. We are introduced to the main characters quickly, who are central to this story, Daniel and Laura. Both are likeable characters and a likeable couple. As with most prequels or introductory stories, it gives us a fast background of the characters, their motivations, their families, closest friends and the world that they live in. Unlike a full length novel, this romance story goes from zero to 100 really quickly on the romance and storyline, without the slow burn relationship build.

It’s the first time I’ve read this Author’s work and I’ll be interested to see how this series progresses in the future. Thank you to Anna Ray and NetGalley for providing me a copy to read. I am voluntarily reviewing this Advanced Reader Copy and providing a honest opinion.

Short and quick. It could have been so much more. I did like Laura and Daniel's interaction and chemistry. His ex was a piece of work.

The woman needs to keep her man in line, he tends to get into to much trouble, “that’s awfully tempting,” she admitted, “but I think I’ll keep the job if it’s all the same to you. Someone has to keep you in line at the office.” I liked this book.

Tempted: An Enemies-to-Lovers Mafia Romance is a quick standalone story. Daniel Marino is a successful owner of a real estate company who decides he wants more out of life and joins his dad in the "family business." Laura Byrne is his new assistant struggling to care for her ill mother.

The book isn't bad. I read it in one sitting. The story flowed. I would have like a bit more content and development. I didn't like some of the terms of endearment that Daniel used like "doll." I felt like it was 1970's Mafia cheesy. However it didn't stop me from continuing the book.

There is definite potential to build a series with Tempted as the starter. All in all Tempted is a quick end of summer read!
