The author says in the acknowledgments that this is her thirtieth published work, and let me tell you, Melinda Leigh gets better with each new book. I really enjoyed all the twists and turns in this well-crafted mystery.

Melinda Leigh doesn't disappoint ever! Her stories are well written. The characters grow and change as time passes. Drown Her Sorrows has a rhythm and pace along with incredible characters that readers will be able to connect with. Feel compassion at the loss the characters have lots from the children to the adults.

Bree Taggert starts to open up as a characters and expressing her feeling that she has struggled with her whole life. Bree is flawed in the most human way that readers will be able to connect with.

Drown Her Sorrows is part of a series the author bring readers up to date fast as well throughout the story.

The story has the perfect blend murder mystery, romance, suspense to keep readers hooked until the very last page.

This reader can't wait to get her hands on the net Bree Taggert book.

Third book in the Bree Taggart series. Bree is settling into her role as Sheriff and her newest role caring for her niece and Nephew. An abandoned car and discovery of a dead body and a suicide note found in the car leads Bree to believe this is an open and shut case. However during the autopsy it becomes clear she has a murder to investigate. This book leads the reader into lots of possibilities, until the ending i had no idea who the murderer was. My first book by Melinda Leigh but i will certainly look out for more.

I absolutely love this suspenseful series. Bree Taggert is my favorite kind of character. She is hardworking, strong-willed and intuitive, which make her a great sheriff. In this latest installment Bree is investigating a body found in the water. From the beginning things don't quite add up and Bree knows better than to assume anything. As the investigation unfolds the suspects are numerous. As readers have come to expect from Melinda Leigh, the unpredictable twists and turns in the storyline make it impossible to put this story down!

Drown her Sorrows by Melinda Leigh a thrilling five-star read. This is number three in the Bree Taggert series and they could be read as stand-alone, as they each feature a different investigation, but I have loved them as a series as we have gotten to know the characters and their struggles, know what makes the story so much deeper, its worth the time and effort to read them all as you really do get a great overall story. Bree Taggert is turning into the Sherriff every town need, she is willing to fight for what is needed and sacrifice when needed, even if that sacrifice is her family as she knows short term sacrifice as they have the stability that Dana and Adam help with, that sacrifice allows her to solve the unsolvable and see the truth through the water. This is a great story and will keep you guessing and hooked all the way through. What will number four bring? Will Matt and Bree become public knowledge? Or will they stay under the cover of darkness. What will the next mystery bring?

Sheriff Bree Taggert has another case, a woman found near the river. As the Sheriff and her deputies start investigating, at first it’s thought that she committed suicide. But the autopsy states that she was dead before she went over the bridge and into the water. Matt, was a deputy but was hurt and now helps train K9 dogs and an investigator when Bree needs help. As they look into the women’s death, her boss is killed, and her sisters house is broken in to. So they work together to figure out what is going on in their town.
Bree and Matt’s relationship is slowly moving. She is raising her sister’s children and it’s a new adjustment for them all. Secrets. Plenty of Suspense. Action. And a OMG! I know this is short but I didn’t want to give anything away.

Drown Her Sorrows is my first Melinda Leigh book and the third installment of the Bree Taggert series. The book starts off with the murder of a local woman and moves pretty quickly from there. Bree Taggert is the local sheriff who is raising her recently murdered sister’s children and trying to balance that life with her career.

Bree has also recently started a romantic relationship with investigator Matt Flynn and the two of them embark on a crazy, fast paced investigation of this recent murder. Soon another murder occurs practically in front of them and Bree is injured. They are in a mad rush to find the killer before he or she strikes again.

This was fast-paced and suspenseful, and I was captivated up until the shocking end. My thanks go to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book for my honest opinion. I gave it 3 ½ stars rounded up to four.

I absolute love Melinda Leigh and this book was no different. It was extremely well written with an easy to follow plot line and of course, a twist. Melinda’s storyline featuring Bree Taggert is one of my favorites and this book was amazing. The premise was great and as always, emotions and feelings were captured expertly.

OMG! The intensity in this book was unbelievable. A few tears were shed, and goosebumps were definitely raised.
Forget any plans to put this book down until you finish it. I was on the edge of my seat with jaw clenched worrying about what the next page flip would bring.
I love all of the main characters in this series, including the dogs and was pulled into the story right from the start of the book.
A huge sigh of relief at the end of the book, but wishing the story could continue because it's just that amazing.
I knew the book would be great, because every single book by this author is exceptional, and I wasn't disappointed.
Well deserving of 5 stars, and high praise. Outstanding story!

Another great installment in the Bree Taggart series. I really enjoyed learning more about all of the characters who have emerged in these 3 books (but personally I would have liked a bit more of the Bree & Matt story, but I’m guessing it will grow over the coming books). I enjoyed the fact that Bree is the heroine, but has an equal in Matt. It was nice to have the little visit from some of the Morgan Dane characters. I didn’t see the twist in the murder plot coming, which is always a plus. The characters are interesting and make you want to come back for more.

You never go wrong with one of Leigh's mysteries. I do suggest reading them in order for the best experience, because the personal relationships really add alot. This one has some great development, and the mystery is good with just enough twists and turns.

Another fantastic instalment of the Bree Taggart series. As well as a head scratching case, Bree is starting to open up more emotionally, with her family and with the ever patient and lovely Matt. This is what makes this series so good, seeing Bree open up, and start to let down her walls.

Can’t wait to read more

Sheriff Bree Taggert is constantly growing and it shows by the respect and love that flows from her family, job and secret boyfriend Matt right back to her. She is learning its okay to not go at it alone and has noticed the feelings of those around her more. This book has it all. Mystery, love of family & friends, acceptance and just enough intrigue that you will find yourself trying to patiently wait for the next book. Great series so quick check out the first 2 books so you'll be ready to read this one. Melinda is a great author and has other series I'd full heartedly recommend. Characters from her other series pop up in her books... love it.

If you haven’t read any of the author’s books before, you’re loosing so much!
Full of suspenseful moments and intricate twists, this novel was just what I needed to remind me why I love a strong female character and how much more is there behind the scenes to any story.
I loved how her personal life is intertwined within the police procedural story and we get to see so much more of her personality.
Just when I thought I knew who the culprit is, another turn of the story drops in and all my theories are brought down to pieces just like a domino effect.
Twist after twist, this book it’s another gripping thriller that I enjoyed immensely and would highly recommend.

Bree Taggert is trying to adjust to the changes in her life. Her sister was murdered and she is now raising her orphaned children. She is also slowly building a relationship with Matt. A woman goes missing and her body is found below a bridge. What first appears to be a suicide turns out to be murder. The investigation leads the reader down a twisted path with a surprise reveal. As usual with one of Melinda’s books I couldn’t put it down. This book is part of a series and tho it could be read as a stand alone, the series is worth going back and reading. Thank you to net galley for an advanced readers copy.

Bree Taggert is the sheriff of a small town and Matt Flynn, a former law man, is her special investigator. Bree has been on her own since childhood. She always had to suck it up alone, which she did and well. She’s tough and a darn good sheriff. Now however she is slowly opening her heart and letting the idea of something with Matt possible. When a woman’s body is found she and Matt work to solve the murder, it almost costs them their lives and the life of a loved one.
This truly is a book you don’t want to miss. I can’t say I’ve read many that has it all; characters you will love, murders that keep you guessing, heart pounding action, tear producing events and credible relationship building. A solid police procedural, and RS at its best. Recommend.

Having read and loved all of Melinda’s books to date I couldn’t wait to read the latest instalment in the Bree Taggart series and boy did it pack a punch! Bree has now settled well into her role as Sheriff of Scarlet Falls and I’m very much enjoying her budding romance with Detective Matt Flynn who both have their work cut out for them this time after Bree discovers the body of a young woman floating near the river bank of scarlet river. A suicide note in the woman’s car suggests she intended to end her life but the autopsy says otherwise! Her marriage was volatile and she was having an affair with her boss and just Bree thinks she has it all sewn up Holly’s sister gets terrorised by a sick stalker ... all these elements combine to make make Drown Her Sorrows one heck of a wild ride, this is Melinda Leigh at her best and I completed it in 1 sitting I just couldn’t put it down !!!!

Thank you to NetGalley, Montlake and Melinda Leigh for the ARC of Drown Her Sorrows my review is honest and unbiased.
