I truly enjoyed this book. A little more violent than I expected, but still enjoyed it. I would recommend it for more older teens who enjoyed the percy jackson series.

This book has proven popular with my students! Mythology-inspired stories continue to be popular and Bracken's work has been well received.

While I fully acknowledge Lore will not work for every Reader, I freaking loved it and am not afraid to admit it!

I did not finish this fantasy after several attempts. It may be that it just didn't appeal to me as an adult reader.

I loved this book! If you took dystopian fantasy and mixed it with greek mythology, you'd get Lore. Melora is a awesome main character, and the depth the author was able to give to her made me so much more invested in seeing her succeed. Can't wait to read the next from Bracken!

I thought this would be like a modern day Medusa retelling. Instead, I have no idea what it was. It felt like it was a Hunger Games retelling but with Greek Gods. I am very confused by this book. Still, I recommend this fans of Mercedes Lackey, Suzanne Collins, and Rick Riordan.

I really liked this take on mythology. Great character growth and explanation. How neat! This will be a great addition to my mythology shelf. Can't wait to buy a physical copy!

Greek mythology is my jam. Always has been, always will be. I was in love with this book from start to finish and I read it in one sitting. I loved the characters, I loved the setting, I loved the romance, I loved the friendships. If I could give this book 6 stars, I would.

For any students that like mythology, this is the book for them! The fantasy aspect of the book is done very well and I can't wait to see more from this author!

I really enjoyed this book. I thought the mythology was good and the characters were intriguing. I would have preferred Lore be a little older to make it more believable but it was a good YA novel. What lost me was the end. In a lot of ways, I do not like trilogies or series that go on when it could have been concluded in one book. However, this story felt rushed at the end and wrapped up to neatly which made it dissatisfying. I think this would have been better served as two novels. Or, possibly a series - I would revisit these characters again.

I was so excited to read this book and ultimately it just didn't live up to expectations. I didn't really connect with any of the characters and all the world building seemed to happen through info dumping.

I enjoyed the world created by Alexandra Bracken in this novel. This is a fresh take on Greek mythology and I enjoyed every minute I spent reading.

This is a book review for Lore by Alexandra Bracken, published by Disney Publishing Worldwide, Hyperion.
I was provided this ARC for an honest review by NetGalley.
Rating:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The story takes place in New York with the main character Lore (whom is the last of the Perseides bloodline) and shares a home with Gil. Lore is forced to participate in the Agon, which happens every 7 years. During the Agon, the Gods wonder the earth and are hunted down and killed. The person participating in the Agon who kills them assumes their power and takes their place as the new God. Lore unfortunately runs into Athena and makes a pact to protect her, this is where the adventure begins. She finds Castor, her best friend she thought was dead. There are battles and bad guys. Twists on mythology you would never have dreamed. It was quite enjoyable.

Overall, I enjoyed reading it. Lore is definitely an interesting and new take on Greek mythology in the modern world. I just wish some concepts were more fleshed out and that some character relationships were more developed in the present as opposed to being set up past feelings.

This book was decent for me. It was very tropey although the writing was good. It was also a bit slow at times. I found it very hard to connect with the characters and care about the plot at some points. I’d read more from this author in the future though.

I loved reading this book! I've enjoyed all of Alexandra Bracken's books that I've read, and I was really pumped to read this book! And wow, was it a fantastic read! I loved the world, the characters, the story, everything about it was so fantastic! There were so many secrets, and so many reveals, and I had a blast going on this journey with Lore!

The whole concept of the Agon is pretty interesting, that the Greek Gods are hunted, and can be killed, and replaced by the human who killed them-though that means that they will be in the same position come the next Agon. And having various families from the various heroes be the ones that are participating is just so interesting!

Lore was a part of this world-until her family was killed. But she's pulled into this Agon, and I really enjoyed reading about her journey, and watching her deal with Athena, who is not the nicest person around. And with Castor, who was her friend, but it's a miracle that he's alive. Really enjoyed their interactions!

I loved how everything came together! There were some pretty big secrets, and some heartbreaking scenes, and just wow, that ending was pretty epic! Absolutely loved how everything worked out there, with Athena and the end of the Agon!

This was such a fantastic read, and I can't wait to read more by Alexandra Bracken!

I really thought I was going to love this! I love Greek mythology but I found this had a lot of info dumping and felt messy.

DNF @ 33% ~163 pages

My very first DNF of 2021 on the very last day of 2021. I really liked the first couple chapters of the book and from there, I was completely lost. I love Greek mythology and although I'm no expert, I feel I know plenty and I was just so lost here. I could read a few pages and not be able to tell you anything that happened. I finally decided at 33% to just let this one stack into the DNF pile. I hardly ever attempt to get that far before I DNF and this one isn't a tiny book - it's 494 pages. I am also starting to think that perhaps Alexandra Bracken is not the author for me. I felt very disconnected much like I was with The Darkest Minds.
