This book was to far fetched for me. I found myself needing to suspend belief practically from page 1. I also felt there were a lot of plot holes. This book was not what I was expecting.

Imagine your own father trying to auction you off to pay off his debts. Now imagine that somehow you are rescued from that fate. It's really not that hard to imagine when you think about it, and that is what happens in this story.

This well-written, complex story has wonderful characters, is full of suspense, drama, betrayal, emotion and romance. I was pulled into the story right from the start and was sorry when it ended. It's a really great read that will keep you enthralled right up until the last page. Highly recommended!

Interesting book. I wish the story had flown a little bit faster but in general it was still worth reading. I will look for more books written by Ms Jones.

What the heck is wrong with me and picking and reading all these clean stories, I joke, not really. Any who I didn't know that this was a part of a series but I didn't feel loss I just felt bored. we have the vicar who is known for helping prostitutes clean up their lives and refers to them as his doves. He hears a young noble woman about to be auction off and saves her. It was her dirty disgusting dad that wanted to sell his daughter and even though pears she is still not safe from him as he continues to try and find her. I didn't get the coming of age thing and then she would be ok, not not in that era.

Knight and Day by Elizabeth Johns is both sweet and exciting story set in Elizabethan England. Edmund Knight is the third son of a Duke. With little inheritance, he becomes a vicar of a church in London. He also rescues girls who have been abducted or sold to work as prostitutes. He received word that a young woman's father had sold her to cover an outstanding debt to Lord Wethersby and she needed to be rescued. When he arrived at the auction, Lord Wethersby had bid an outlandish amount for the young woman. After the rescue, Edmund takes her to his brother's estate where she will be safe. Thus starts a series of events full of romance and intrigue.

I enjoyed reading this Elizabethan adventure.

Can he save the one woman he needs?

Edmund Knight is a vicar with a mission to save young women from being forced into prostitution. He hides them away in the country with his brothers, where his "doves" find safety and the opportunity to develop skills that will enable them to support themselves in a decent manner. Occasionally he's called upon to rescue a lady who has fallen afoul of a powerful man, often a family member. It's dangerous work, with men of an underground network unhappy to lose their "assets." When he gets an urgent message about one such woman, he arrives just in time to whisk her out a back door before the powerful Earl of Wethersby takes possession of her after his successful auction bid. The story gets complicated from there, with much second guessing and attacks from multiple directions.

Isabella Hartmere is abruptly thrust into a horrid situation - scantily dressed and up for auction - when her father, the Duke of Frompton, is unable (or is it unwilling?) to pay a debt he owes to Lord Wethersby. The two have history and she is caught in the middle, a pawn being used by both men. Lord Edmund is her savior and she slowly finds herself falling in love with the gentle, honorable man who is doing his best to protect her, even as he is personally threatened apart from the danger to her. Everywhere they turn, wherever they run, someone is there watching. Can she make it a few more weeks to reach her 21st birthday and be free of her father's dominion? Will Edmund survive?

I enjoyed the many-faceted story line and revisiting members of Edmund's family in this installment of the Gentlemen of Knights series. I especially liked that he is not a rugged or aggressive alpha but an ordinary, passionate man trying his best to make the world better and protect those he loves.

Loved this Book! This story could have easily been a 21st Century story. Elizabeth Johns does a very good job of creating plots that quickly draw people into the book. The characters never disappoint, and her penchant for continuing the development of these characters throughout the series is one of the ties that bind us to her books. A definite 'must-read!'

2.5/5. Vicar rescues daughter of a duke from being auctioned off to highest bidder by her father at a brothel. She goes into hiding, working as a nursemaid for the vicar's brother, another duke. Her father and other unsavoury people try to hunt her down and the vicar comes to the rescue once more offering a marriage of convenience.

Average writing. Stilted dialogue. Plot holes galore. Why did it take Edmund no time to work out Isabella's identity but no one else had the same power of deduction? What kind of duke would risk scandal and indignity selling his daughter at a public auction in a brothel, instead of organising a profitable match with a cut willing to pay handsomely for an aristocratic wife? Why did her brother and Edmund ponder over whether her father was wicked enough to hand her over Wethersby, when the father already showed his perfidy by selling the scantily clad Isabella at the auction. I could go on and on tearing the flimsily constructed plot apart. There were very little actual interactions between them, because most of the plot involved hiding her and hiding Edmund's other soiled doves and yet somehow love spurted from almost nowhere without much prelude.

I thought it was time to branch out and try a new publisher. So, I decided to stay with the #HistoricalRomance books that I read but maybe just a little different style. Thank you to @NetGalley & @DragonBladePublishing for this opportunity.
Review……
The cover really didn’t grab me, I felt like it was a little fake and I don’t feel like it did the actual story justice. I would say the story is better than the cover. I liked how the author kept the excitement throughout the story. This is the third book in the series, I did not read the other books before this one and it was still a really good read. However, had I read the others I think I would have known the other characters a little better. Duke Knighton is not a main character in this book, but he is in here a lot so I think I would have liked to read #DukeofKnight first. If you enjoy #HistoricalRomanceBooks I would suggest this book.
“Lord Edmund Knight has dedicated his life to rescuing unfortunates and prostitutes which he refers to as his doves. One of his rescues comes with more baggage than he bargained for, and he is forced to hide her at his brother’s estate in faraway Devonshire.

Lady Isabella Hartmere was ruthlessly placed up for auction by her father to settle gaming debts, but is miraculously rescued by a vicar in the nick of time. As her father becomes desperate to find her, the situation becomes more dangerous by the minute.”

Knight and Day was enjoyable. I enjoyed the gritty storyline. It was wonderful to see the family interactions and connections. The bond between the families was so genuine. I did struggle to believe the love between Edmund and Isabella was palpable. I did feel that there was a companionship. I would recommend this book.

Clean story for those to whom it matters about a Vicar who is rescuing young girls from prostitution. This time he happens upon an aristocrat, who is being badly treated by her father due to his debt worries. A very complicated story. Isabella goes to work for Edmund's brother to keep her out of sight. Various calamities ensure that it takes a long time berfore we find out who the villains are and why they have acted as they do. The writing is good but I'd have liked a bit more passion to the building romance. It looks like there is a continuing mystery that arc over the series.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own

Vicar Edmund Knight could have any future or living he wanted carrying the Knight name. Much to his brother’s consternation, he desires to rescue, save, and reposition soiled doves. Lady Isabella sold to pay off her father’s gambling debts but is rescued in the nick of time and rushed away to Edmund’s hiding spot until she reaches her twenty first birthday. As her birthday draws near, so does her father’s search for her. Edmund and Isabella have a lot of time get to know one another and develop their feelings through a friendship first. There are many obstacles and hindrances, but true love does conquer all. While this is the third in the Knight brother series, it can be enjoyed as a standalone. I do look forward to the fourth installment.

Could a Daring Rescue Lead to Love?

Edmund rescues Isabella from a horrible fate and danger follows. There is romance, mystery, and twisted secrets. Adam’s mission is a dangerous one. Rescuing women from prostitution is a dangerous endeavor, and some would see him dead to stop it from happening. Could he survive his deadly mission? What about Isabella? Sold at auction, by her father, of all people, she is rescued by Edmund and whisked away to his brother’s house to work as a servant. What happens when Edmund uncovers her secret? Her father is not likely to give up looking for her. Will he ever find her? If you like stories with romance and mystery, you might enjoy this story.

A Knight can come in many forms... in armour ready to face any enemy, as a defender of the weaker, on a mighty stead showing strength or as a Vicar with the backing of the Knight family name. All are courageous but the hero in this story Lord Edmund is indeed a savior to Lady Isabella as she was being sold by her father for one night to the highest bidder! Oh yes, her disgusting father who lost money to the most degenerate of men!

Saved and brought to the Knight family outside of London, Isabella lives in disguise and hopes not to be found. But of course, her father becomes desperate to find her and as she and Edmond become closer, the stakes get larger.

Loved their story that took a slower pace but in the end the heart wants what the heart wants!

Knight and Day by Elizabeth Johns features Sir Edmund Knight, who against the desire of his brother, the Duke of Knighton, has taken up a poor parish in Shoreditch, which is full of whores, thieves, and cutthroats. His mission in life is to save woman who do not want to be whores, for whatever reason. He steals them away and finds them a better life. This night, his brother Heath ass summoned him to an auction of young women, Isabella. He arrives just as the last woman is on the block. A beautiful creature, scantily clad, who goes for an enormous sum. Edmund hurries to the back door, ostensibly to claim his prize, and makes off with her, taking her deep into the country, to the home of his brother, the duke. He thinks she can work in the kitchen well away from prying eyes. On their journey he discovers she has not skills, she is a lady, auctioned against her will. Well he trusts his brother to sort it out.

This is a terrific story, one in which they discover, almost too late, that Isabella is not the only one being chased. It nearly proves fatal until they mystery is solved. Edmund's enemy is clever and thoroughly a reprobate. He does some things that are disgusting, but so clever. The characters are interesting and compelling, some even humorous, take the lad, Johnnie, for instance is who cheeky and sometimes irreverent. The lovers go though their share of tragedy but all's well that ends well. It is an endearing novel, with entertaining characters and situations. A small masterpiece. I recommend it.

I was invited to read Knight and Day by Dragonblade, through Netgalley. All opinions and interpretations contained herein are solely my own. #netgalley #knightandday

I like this series and Edmund has always been my favorite Knight brother so I’m glad he got his own story too. Isabella is a duke’s daughter who gets caught in between a long-standing feud between her father and his longtime nemesis. When Edmund and Isabella meet again after he helped save her, the story takes off from there with a lovely romance. A great addition to the series!

Lord Edmund Knight is a vicar & has dedicated his life to rescuing unfortunates and prostitutes which he refers to as his doves. His brother Heath comes to him saying there is a be an auction & a lady is being auctioned. He rescues her & is forced to hide her at his brother’s estate in far away Devonshire as nursemaid to Rowley’s son. Now eighteen months later Isabella is nearing her twenty first birthday & her father is becoming desperate to find her, the situation becomes more dangerous by the minute.
This is the third book in the series & it could be read on its own but as ever with a series I have to start at the beginning. Edmund has been my favourite sibling & his story didn't disappoint. He has a heart of gold. Isabella is making the best of life after nearly being sold. The pair are attracted to each other from their first meeting but skate around it until they finally realise that they’ve loved each other for quite a while. Their troubles don't en there & the road to their HEA is littered with obstacles, including an assault, a duel, also secrets are revealed. I found it to be a vert well written book which I read in two sittings & was engrossed from cover to cover however not all questions are answered, so roll on book number four
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read

i love this series!! I think this brother is the one i like the most. Edmund and Isabella are the perfect couple, even with all the ups and downs they've been through.

Lady Isabella is rescued by a Knight in a shining ring around the collar! Actually, a Vicar with the last name of Knight who really is a hero that rescues young girls from a life of servitude as prostitutes. However, Lady Isabella was sold by her own father to pay for his gambling debt!

Edmund is actually a man from a wealthy family and his brother is a Duke who at times has helped out by finding places of employment for the women who Edmund has rescued from the bowels of desolation!
The situation in which Isabella is facing is rather unique and Edmund finds that he must walk a tightrope in order to keep her safe from the clutches of her father and any other persons out looking for her for a reward.

The author keeps the book moving forward and I found myself wanting to know more about all the players and how the storyline would eventually play out.

Thank you to the authors and publishers who work diligently for us the readers.

I received an advanced copy from NetGalley and these are my willingly given thoughts and opinions.
