All consuming is a second chance story. Kal and Hannah dated in high school. After they graduated they broke up. Hannah moved away and got married and had a kid. Kal stayed and became a firefighter. Now ten years later Hannah has moved back after her divorce. And goes to their ten year high school reunion. Where her and Kal see each other. I thought it was a pretty good story line, but it just didn’t draw me.

Kal Donovan and Hannah Clark were high school sweethearts, since they were fourteen years old, but he broke up with her before he left for college. He stupidly thought that you didn't find your soulmate when you were that young and she needed to live life a little first. Thinking he could get her back later, Kal's surprised when he finds out she is with someone else and ends up marrying him. Flash forward ten years.....their high school reunion. It seems Hannah is back living in town after her divorce with her seven year old son, Oliver. Kal and Hannah spend time together at the reunion and it's like the past ten years hadn't happened. Hannah is hesitant because of just coming off of her divorce, but Kal is persistent. Of course the more time these two spend together the more they realize that old feelings are still there. When Kal decides to take things to the next level, Hannah freaks. It will take some soul searching for Hannah to realize that what she really wants is her happy ending with Kal. She gets her perfect happy ending.

Here we are finally at Kal's book. I have to admit from the first book I liked him. For me, he was the sweetest of the brothers. Just an all-around good guy. One you know will have your back when you need him too.

You get a good idea of Kal since he was in both his brother's books. In his own book, he comes into his own. He is no longer working with his brothers he's not at another station. It works for him to be a little independent of them. Most of the time when a character shows up in other books by the time they get to their own you see some growth of said character but with Kal, you don't really have that because he's such a great, easy-going guy.

Can you tell I really like him?

Now Hannah is a new character so she's the one I wanted to know more about. I liked how she stood for her son and did what was best for him. She's a good mom. I think my only issue with her and it's a small one is that she is so focused on being independent of everyone that she's missing out on what could be.

Sometimes we need to stand back for a second and figure out why we can't see what makes us happy until it hits us upside the head.

It might have taken a while for these two to find each other again but when they did you see how much they still care for each other. Sometimes first love is the only love you'll have. You'll also love Hannah's mom and son. Both are wonderful characters on their own.

This is a wonderful story that is what I'd call a comfort read. It just all worked so well and I enjoyed it so much.

This is my first book by Jaci Burton and it won't be my last. Kal and Hannah are meant to be together. Reconnected souls mates you understand each other. Kal is so sweet and super hot as a firefighter who isn't afraid to get dirty to protect Hannah and help her. He loves her.

Well. Here we are. I’ve read a couple of Jack’s other books and they never really work for me, but I keep trying.

I liked Hannah and Kal. They’re both good, loyal people. I liked their history and how the relationship progressed. There are a good amount of characters, but they added a lot of dimension to the story.

Plot wise, it was a bit boring. Scenes and phrases were repetitive and the few things added as conflict didn’t hit the mark. It was a lot of inner monologue, a lot of push and pull, and a quickly wrapped up resolution. Even Kal’s super exciting job came across as bland.

Overall, even though I liked hear characters, I think this author just isn’t for me.

**Huge thanks to Berkley for providing the arc free of charge**

Jaci Burton has done it again with intense romance! I devoured this book All Consuming, and could not put it down. It is intoxicating the way the chemistry just bubbled off the page. I could not get enough of it!

Second chance love story at it's best. I really loved this book and loved watching Kal and Hannah reconnect and learn to trust each other again. This was a well written story with great character development. This was such a good book, I had a hard time putting this one down.

All Consuming by Jaci Burton is the 3rd book in her Brotherhood by Fire series. Kal Donovan, our hero, is the third & youngest brother in this series. All three Donovan brothers are very close and are fireman; but Kal transferred to the Tactical Rescue Team, determined to win his teammates trust with his abilities. Kal decides to attend his 10-year high school reunion, and to his surprise, he runs into his high school girlfriend, whom he left behind years ago.

Hannah Clark, has returned home after a divorce, with a young son (Oliver) and living with her mom. Hannah meets up with her friends at the High School reunion and is shocked when she sees Kal, the boy she loved years ago. Hannah is not interested in rekindling their old romance, as she is focused on taking care of Oliver.
Best laid plans usually do not work out, as Kal and Hannah start spending time together, rehashing old memories, with both just being friends. Kal loves being with Hannah and Oliver, and despite their determination to being friends, the chemistry between is red hot, and soon they will act on their feelings, being friends with benefits. Hannah has sworn that she will not allow herself to have her heart broken again, even if Kal decides he wants something more permanent.

In between this romance, it was great to see the many exciting technical rescues that were real or just training. I also loved the relationship with Kal and his family, and how nice Hannah & Oliver fit in. It was great to see both brothers, and their wife/fiancée. Hannah was a wonderful heroine, and you could not help care about her and her son. She allowed herself to fall in love again with Kal, but she was set in her promise that she will not go further.

All Consuming was a sweet second chance steamy romance that was very well written by Jaci Burton. I loved Kal and Hannah, as they made such a great couple, not to mention Oliver, who was great. We did begin to worry, as we rooted hard for their relationship to move to a permanent one. Jaci Burton always writes wonderful romances, and All Consuming was another fabulous story that you should read.

The chemistry between Kal and Hannah was so intense and compelling. The writing was engaging. I read it in a little over an hour.

Second chance romance anyone? Love the cover but the blurb and author caught my eye. Third book in a series but definitely can be read as a stand alone.

What did I like? So I’m a bit shocked so far at the low reviews this one had but I enjoyed it. Kal and Hannah were high school sweethearts but after Karl’s decision not to have a long distance relationship while in college, they split. Hannah dove into marriage to escape but only discovered it was a rebound. Ten years later a high school reunion brings Kal and Hannah back together.

Would I recommend or buy? Yes, I love this author and her writing. I’ve had plenty of her books on my shelf! I would recommend to fans of second chances. Great read!

I received a complimentary copy to read and voluntarily left a review!

4.5 stars. I really enjoyed this book! Kal and Hannah’s journey to HEA was chock full of heart, love, passion and emotion. It is a second chance for them as they were once high school sweethearts. Neither of them had any idea how attending their 10 year reunion would change their lives forever in the most wonderful of ways. Kal is rescue worker and is positively swoony. He is selfless and so loving and family oriented. The swoon factor reaches super high levels whenever he interacts with Hannah’s young son Oliver. Watching him fall in love with both Hannah and Oliver is such a joy. So much love there. Unfortunately Hannah is a little jaded by love and the prospect of forever after the failure of her marriage to Oliver’s father, so it isn’t easy for her to give herself over to it. But Kal is a patient man and head over heels for her.
I love their story and the way things turn out for him, Hannah and Oliver and for his brothers as well. Great book!

This is the third book in the Brotherhood by Fire series by Jaci Burton, but can be read as a standalone. This one was an OK read for me -- I was able to finish in one sitting. I did read the entire series and liked the premise behind three adopted brothers (not related by blood). They all find love and are all firefighters, just like their adoptive father.

I enjoyed the premise, but almost wish we would have learned more about each of their back stories and how they got to where they are today. All that was given was a brief snap shot and flashbacks for each brother.

For All Consuming particularly, I would have loved to read more about Kal and Hannah's relationship in high school.

This is a good read if you are looking for something quick and easy, with a happy ending. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

The last Donovan boy falls…

Kal & Hannah’s paths cross at their 10-year high school reunion and sparks fly. Kal is ready to find someone to plan a future with while Hannah is trying to rebuild a life for herself and her son after she ended a bad marriage. With some honest communication these two are able to find their HEA ending.

Jaci Burton wrote another great book full of wonderful, real characters and genuine emotion. The epilogue shows us a small glimpse into the life of the Donovan clan 2 years in the future and concludes another great contemporary romance series.

Recommended for: fans of low-angst, second chance romance tropes

I received a digital ARC of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

The final Donovan brother finds his match in a second chance romance with his high school sweetheart. A sweet story that made my heart sigh and I couldn't put it down.

This is my first-time reading books by Jaci Burton and this is the 3rd book in the series “Brotherhood By Fire”. I’m behind in this series. Gotta go back and read about Kal’s brothers Rafe and Jackson. This is book is about 2nd chances.

Kal is a fireman and is a part of the Tactical Rescue Team. Firemen have very dangerous jobs; I commend all the great fireman and thanks for all you do.

Hannah is newly divorced and returns to her hometown with her 7-year son and is now living with her mom.
Kal and Hannah were high school sweet hearts. They broke up 10 years ago and with the return of Hannah the romance is still their but Hannah isn’t sure because she has to consider her son and not just herself.

This is a great second chance at romance for the couple and I must say that I love reading about second chance romance. The characters are wonderful, great word building, hot and sexy firemen and easy to read.
To find out whether Kal and Hannah pick up where they left off and their second chance at romance and have HEA pick up your copy.

Thank you NetGalley for this ARC. I'm voluntarily leaving my review.

I have really enjoyed the earlier two books in this series but while the characters in this one are great the story just seemed to drag. Kal and Hannah were high school sweethearts. They parted when Kal went away to college and Hannah married on the rebound and left the city. Now divorced with an adorable son she's back in her home town just in time for the ten year reunion and a reconnect with Kal.
The story is a poster book for a child who is rescued and fostered to become a really good guy with an exciting and dangerous profession. Oliver is a really sweet seven year old kid and Hannah and her mom have a great relationship. I guess I missed some spice in this story not to say there aren't a couple of conflicts one at work for Kal and one when Hannah decides that she wants to rethink a relationship but they're easily resolved almost like there's a box to check.
The story is a sweet romance don't get me wrong and definitely worth reading.

This is the story of the last brother, Kal, also a firefighter. He renews his relationship with his high school girlfriend. Very real story with different aspects of life such as a business, a kid and an irresponsible ex. for her and work relation troubles for him.

An engaging story. Great epilogue. This series ends well. Jaci Burton at her best.

I enjoyed the first two books in this series of street brothers who were all adopted by a firefighter and then become firefighters themselves. In this book, Kal, the youngest, has made his way onto a special rescue team, but is resented by two of his team members (this is the subplot). He goes to his 10-year high school reunion and runs into Hannah, his first love. She had just returned to town, divorced and with her son. They reconnect but she is leery of getting more involved. He is more than ready and works to persuade her to give them a chance. This is a well-written story with work-related action, emotion and humor. I highly recommend this book as Jaci Burton does it again!

Hannah and her son return to her hometown after a divorce from her absent husband. She’s starting over and determined to do that on her own. Kal is her former high school boyfriend and on a local rescue squad. They meet again at their highest school reunion and reconnect. Hannah has many hangups over her past mistakes.

This is the third in a series. You do not have to read the others to enjoy this book.

I loved Kals heart for the homeless and foster children. It was a nice read.

This book was provided to me in the exchange for an honest review.
