Eve Brown doesn't know what she wants out of life. She keeps starting projects and jobs but it never feels right and she quits as soon as there's a drawback. And her parents have had enough. They tell her she needs to get a job and keep it for at least a year if she wants to still get her trust fund payments because they're done being disappointed and ashamed. Eve leaves the house in a huff and drives, and drives, and drives. She ends up in the Lakes and finds this cute little B&B that is apparently looking for a cook. Eve has taught herself how to cook and has studied under a pastry chef and she decides to just go for it. What's the worst that could happen?
Jacob Blake was not expecting the bright beautiful woman to arrive for the job interview at the B&B he owns and he hates the unexpected but her brightness could balance his sulkiness and after his best friend forces him to run after her to give her a shot and she rans him over, he doesn't have a choice anymore. With a concussion and a broken wrist, he cannot handle the B&B by himself. So, she's here to stay. Or is she?
This was great. I love that both main characters were autistics and that Eve didn't know as first and that she recognized it as just being a part of who she is, no more no less.
I loved the whole hospitality thing being seen as a talent and how integral to the story it was. I loved the side characters, Mont and his sisters and it's always great to hear of Dani, Chloe, their bfs and Gigi.
I also loved the setting, how they were always together, how strong both their personalities were, I honestly loved all of it. I related to both of them so much, in different ways. They were also layered and just plain interesting, and the story was really well paced.
i've read this twice already and I cannot wait to receive my paperback!
This series really is everything and I hope we get a spinoff of it? maybe? I'll be waiting!

Talia Hibbert is just an MVP, and I have loved getting to know the Brown sisters through this series. Chloe is still my favorite, as I can empathize with her experiences with chronic, unpredictable pain. But Dani and Eve are also amazing characters, and I love seeing all three of them show up in each book. Eve is the youngest, and is often treated like the irresponsible, flighty one who needs coddling. After another failed professional venture, she gets in an argument with her parents (with whom she still lives), and she finds herself driving to get away and ending up in a small town, where she sees some help wanted signs at a bed and breakfast. She meets Jacob, the owner, who is very up front about being on the autism spectrum and struggling to deal with her communication style. Disappointed, she goes to leave and accidentally hits Jacob with her car. As he recovers, she starts working in the b&b anyway, and secretly staying there as well. Though Jacob is still uncomfortable around her, he's attracted to her and begins to appreciate her help and her positivity, and then of course things progress (as they do in romance novels). One of the things I love about all of the Brown sisters books is that they normalize common medical conditions (anxiety, autism, chronic pain) and they are also very body positive. Based on the writing, it's clear that all three Brown sisters are at least somewhat overweight, and that is never shown to detract in any way from their beauty or their attractiveness to their partners. I wish there were more Brown sisters to meet! Maybe some cousins??

As most of you know, I am obsessed with Talia Hibbert's writing. Her books are phenomenal, and they just capture the essence of life. One of the things that I just fall in love with is how much I can relate to a character. There is just something to her writing that is magical.
As all of you know, I was fortunate to score a copy of the advanced reader copy of act your age Eve Brown. Unfortunately, life has gotten in the way, and I haven't been able to read it as quickly as I wanted to. Something always seemed to be coming up with this book. For three weeks, I had to sneak moments of reading in. It was a disservice to the book. Luckily for me, Libro.fm ended up giving me a copy of the audiobook as part of their influencer program. I love audiobooks. It's my preferred format of reading right now simply because sometimes I just don't have the energy to read with my eyes. I was incredibly excited to snag a copy of the audiobook and started the book over the second I could.
One of the best things about Talia Hibbert's books are the characters. You simply can't help but fall in love with them. I can't get enough. Eve Brown was a character that I related to a little too much. At times, I didn't want to finish the book simply because I related to her a little more than I wanted to. Still, I'm glad that I powered through because this book was beautifully written, and I think many people will enjoy it.
I loved seeing the characters' chemistry, the banter, and everything about it was perfectly done. I know that you guys are probably sick of me raving about Talia's writing, but she deserves all the praise. Everything about this book is excellent. I highly recommend this for any romance reader whose kind of feeling stuck in life. I loved every second of it. Definitely pick this book up.
All in all, this book is beautifully done, and the writing is spectacular. I recommend this book to anyone that is enjoyed and loves the other books in the series. I also recommend this to anyone that's feeling a bit stuck in life and like you're a failure. this book spoke to me more than most books do. Seriously, you're doing a disservice to yourself by not reading this book.

Literally from the FIRST PAGE I was all in on this one!! This book is JOY, and HAPPINESS. Give me grumpy + sunshine FOREVER. Give me adorable mess. I've loved every book in the Brown sisters series, but this is hands down my fave. I think my face was in a huge crack smile THE ENTIRE TIME. First of all, Eve Brown is perfection. Her voice is everything. Second of all: JACOB WAYNE. MADAME TALIA HIBBERT, ARE YOU KIDDING ME? He is everything. The autism (own voices) representation here is spectacular (disclaimer: I am NOT an own voices reviewer here! Speaking only from the experience of someone who used to work with kids and teens on the spectrum). This entire book is flawless. She FEELS 26, we FEEL her growth. I am going to be shouting about this book nonstop. PERFECTION.

This book was utterly delightful. I loved Eve and Jacob and the subtle but important conversations they had about autism, mental health, and finding your place in the world. Talia Hibbert always brings it with her books, and Eve was a great book to round out the series. I hope to see more in the Brown sisters universe and I loved this book!

Talia Hibbert knows how to write a fun and flirty romance! Her characters are always endearing, diverse and not to mention sexy. In the latest installment of the Brown sisters trio, Eve Brown is searching for her passion in life...as well as a job and a place to live. Her parents have decided it’s time for her to find a career and stick to it as her usual fashion is to run away after the first sign of trouble or boredom. She stumbles upon a quaint bed and breakfast owned by the handsome and aloof Jacob. Their first meeting is less than ideal as Eve accidentally backs her car up into him. This leads to Eve helping him at the B&B while he recovers. Jacob’s need for control and Eve’s quirky chaos clash over and over...but they also find they have more in common than they thought. It’s a sweet, quick love story.

Three for three, this series might just be one of my all time favorites. It’s hilarious, it’s sexy, it’s heartwarming and sweet, it’s simply all things wonderful. Eve Brown is a gem of a human and I loved watching her find her footing and become confident in how wonderful she is. And Jacob is a cinnamon roll disguised in a grumpy exterior. Utter perfection, this had me laughing out loud and flying through the story quickly. A fantastic conclusion to the trilogy and something I highly recommend to all.

I have loved all of the books in the Brown Sisters series, and this one is my favorite of the three! Eve is the youngest Brown sister and is given an ultimatum by her parents. It's time to grow up and be responsible. She has to support herself for a year before she has access to her trust. They have watched her start and stop many work endeavors and just want her to stick with something. Eve is devastated, though she tries to hide it with her sunny disposition and constant smile. She drives into the country, and, as fate would have it, ends up at a Bed and Breakfast that is in desperate need of a chef. Jacob, the attractive owner of the B&B, is convinced that Eve is ALL wrong for the job, but, given the circumstances (read the book to find out what the are!) he has no choice but to give her a chance.
I loved so much about this book. Eve is lovely. She is so earnest and wants to do well and is convinced she will somehow get it wrong. Jacob comes across as a control freak, but he's working hard to accommodate his autism, and he has lots of rules to help him navigate being social. And he's very straight forward. And it turns out Eve is drawn to how straight forward he is. And he is drawn to her cheerful chaos. This book kept me smiling and rooting for both Jacob and Eve. And the side characters were great!! And we got to see the rest of the Brown family again which is always a treat. If you haven't read this series, do it! One warning- these are steamy!!
Thanks to NetGalley and Avon Books for an advance copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I was so excited to have the chance to read this early! I was a little worried at first that I wouldn’t like Eve because her personality was so wildly different than mine and I struggled at first to understand her thought process and motivations, but after I hit the 15% mark it was smooth sailing.
I ended up really loving Eve and the struggles she went through, and I especially loved Jacob! I can’t say that I’ve read a lot of books with autism rep (fantasy tends to be lacking in that department) so I was a little bit nervous going into this how it would be portrayed. I ended up really enjoying it and how it highlighted how different autism can be from person to person because it is after all, a spectrum.
The romance was simultaneously sweet and very steamy, I would even say more so than the previous two books! I was not prepared for how intense some of those scenes were, but they were enjoyable all the same.
I do wish that we got a little more plot with the Gingerbread Festival thing, because it felt a little bit like it was pushed aside, and I would’ve loved to see more interactions between Jacob, Eve and Jacob’s friends! Although, I think that Hibbert will be writing a series that focuses on the Montrose family, which I’m now very excited about!
As I am not autistic myself, I can’t speak as to how good this representation is, however I think this could be own voices but I was unable to find a definitive answer online. Because I can’t speak to the rep, I don’t know if some situations were accurate or not. Eve mentions at one point that she thinks her family members are in one way or another on the spectrum, and I also didn’t know how to feel about Eve learning she was autistic, because I’ve never been through that process so I don’t know if you have to be formally diagnosed.
I tried looking for some Own Voices reviewers, and was unable to find any on Goodreads, or at least no reviews that specifically stated that, so if you are an Own Voices reviewer for this book, please let me know and I’ll link your review below!
Overall, I really enjoyed this conclusion to The Brown Sisters and I’m very excited to read more from Talia Hibbert!

This was the best piece of autistic representation I’ve ever come across. I especially appreciated that I could even relate to the cishet white male representation because he wasn’t the stereotypical cardboard cut out Sheldon Cooper portrayal of autism. I’ve said from the start of this series that the brown sisters have autistic traits so it was nice to finally have that representation in print. Eve’s story of feeling like a failure and her parents putting pressure on her to grow up was far too relatable to me and I absolutely sobbed in the first chapter. Not because anything was sad but because I felt seen. Talia Hibbert was able to put into words what I have never been able to.
As for the romance between Eve and Jacob while unconventional, it was true to their characters and realistic to me as an autistic woman. It was the kind of relationship I hope for some day. Talia Hibbert always makes sure to put an emphasis on compatibility and understanding, dismantling the idea that you love someone “in spite of their faults” and it does wonders for my internalized ableism.
I cried through most of this book, even when it wasn’t sad, because I felt understood and I have never related to a character more than I have Eve Brown, (although Chloe Brown is a close second). This book brought me a lot of joy.

Eve is the youngest of the sisters and lost in what she wants in life; cue handsome yet grouchy employer, a car accident, delicious food, and...intimate moments. Eve’s spirit is strong, but her sarcasm and comebacks are even stronger and pair perfectly with her new boss, Jacob, who doesn’t quite know how to handle the beautiful, purple-haired siren who is distracting him way too much.
Charming and witty, this was a fast-paced read with an adorable couple and a fun plot. As with her novels, Hibbert provides unique and diverse characters that are real and relatable. I really appreciate the lack of cheesiness and the diversity of the characters in the novel. Eve’s character is adorable and it is impossible not to root for her through her personal journey to find her passion, her patience with Jacob and her family, and her exuberant personality finding herself in awkward situations. As someone who doesn’t read a lot of romance or chick-lit, the fact that I’ve read all three of the Brown Sister’s stories (and within a month) and still crave more is a testament to Talia Hibbert’s writing. Personable, light-hearted, and laugh-out-loud, the entire series is a great read and Act Your Age, Eve Brown was a fantastic conclusion to sister's romances.

I found Eve and Jacob to be such amazing multi-dimensional characters and they are so hilarious. The steam between these to is just HAWT, like too close to sun hot.
I was honestly captured into this book within the first few pages. Especially, when one of my favorite songs mentioned within the first few pages. Thats when I knew this book was about to be bomb.Eve is such an intriguing character who is just trying to figure out where she fits in this world. She bounces around from job to job and her parents finally has enough and wants her to find a steady job. She sets out on her own with a goal of trying to get away and find a job. First, job she sits down for she meets Jacob and it is history from there.
Honestly, I love Eve and Jacob so much. Their characters have went through so much and I feel like they fall for each other so organically. I just wish we got more deep into Jacob's backstory because I feel like it would have given more insight into him. I enjoyed the banter between Eve and Jacob. I did find Jacob to be a bit of a judgmental jerk but not everyone is perfect.

4.5 stars!
WOW. I really don’t have the words for this one, but it really was just utter perfection.
Eve and Jacob have my whole heart, even if it currently is in a puddle! Their banter and communication swept me off my feet, their hot AF hookups kept me in their arms, and that final and beautifully sweet ending dropped me at the gates of heaven and WOW Talia, you really did that!
So much packed into this book that I might have expected it to overwhelm me, but I’m just overwhelmed with emotions at this point and wish I had more! I miss these two terribly already, but knowing there will be more books from Talia is keeping my brain happy

Talia Hibbert's work is magic again. Her writing is just such a delight to immerse oneself in. Eve and Jacob do not have a meet cute, and it gets worse when she hits him with her car (is this the contemporary version of shooting your love interest?) and he winds up in a cast and needing her help more than ever. It's quite the grumpy sunshine pairing and I love how they complement each other. The first two books in the Brown sisters trilogy are some of my fave contemporaries and I'm so glad the third ends the trilogy on a shining note. Hibbert's writing is so engaging; I loved the setting, the characters, how it all developed. Now I have to read them all again.

Wow Eve! 💜
This is the third book in the Brown sisters series. I have yet to read Dani's book but I loved Chloe's. This book did not disappoint!
Eve is not like her sisters she hasn't found her thing yet, the job that makes her happy and fulfilled. She keeps trying what's expected of her and quitting so her parents give her an ultimatum. Those are fun!
Eve is smart, sassy, with long purple braids and an awesome collection of phrase t-shirts.
After the ultimatum Eve goes for a drive to look for a job on her own without her parents help and finds herself in a little town interviewing at a B&B.
Jacob the owner of the B&B does not like her but after a few unfortunate events he seems to be stuck with her.
I love the representation of autism and discussion about autism in adults. It's not a new phenomenon.
I also love the chemistry and the crazy hot steam that comes off these two. The missing piece connection is my favorite. Where since their minds work similar they can understand eachother better. There's no greater connection than shared experience and steam, maybe a dildo.

Thank you Net Galley and Avon for the e-ARC for my honest and voluntary review.
FYI: there's naughty language and naughty actions. So if you don't like to read people cussing this may not be for you. (I see people write negative reviews because language, I don't mind)

Holy ginger biscuit! I didn’t know if I would love Act Your Age, Eve Brown as much as I loved Dani’s story but like a typical little sister, Eve was so chaotic I couldn’t help but love her. I’m sad this series by Talia Hibbert is wrapped up but I’m looking forward to what comes next and satisfied that all the Brown sisters got their HEAs.
Eve Brown needs a job. Challenged by her parents to hold the same one down for a year and with no access to her trust fund, a drive to process her next step leads her to a quaint bed and breakfast in need of a chef. That’s where she meets Jacob Wayne, owner of the B&B and a no-nonsense man who likes rules, routine and is the biggest grump. They immediately dislike each other, and with Eve’s tendency to have one earbud in her ear and smile all the time, she’s Jacob’s walking nightmare or as he once says, “she’s a chaos demon.” After Eve bumps Jacob with her car (accidentally!) and he gets a broken wrist, Eve steps up to be the chef and whatever else Jacob needs to prepare for the local Gingerbread Festival that could help market the B&B to more guests.
Eve and Jacob’s banter/bickering is hilarious. Eve has his number from the beginning (a skill she’s honed as an annoying younger sibling) and Jacob is so affronted at how happy she is all the time and that makes it easier for her to tease him. They’re both fighting their attraction to one another, often getting angry at themselves and each other because it’s ridiculous someone can be so good-looking. He has a television body and she has Disney princess eyes, and who gave them the right!? It’s a bit of a slow burn but when they FINALLY give in it’s super hott (desk sex!!).
They’re also are neuro-diverse leads, and that helps them understand each other better, and move past their initial first impressions (she’s too flighty; he’s a grump). Both show their care for people through Acts of Service, and there are some very sweet gestures throughout the book where Eve and Jacob are showing each other how they feel although their mouths are saying the opposite. It’s so cute! I really liked how Eve proves to herself and her family she can commit to things and keeps trying although she’s afraid to fail again. Although Chloe and Dani can be meddlesome, I like that Eve is able to stand up for herself when necessary, gets respect and cements her place in the family.

wow talia hibbert has truly done it again with the grumpy/sunshine dynamic! eve was definitely my favorite as i really resonated with her the most with her emotions and coming to terms with life making decisions yet always feeling like she didn't do something right and never lived to her full potential til now. i really enjoyed the whole sorta rivals or more like dislike at first sight yet with the dual pov we were able to see that wasn't the case and both eve and jacob were quite attracted to each other, just misunderstood the other's personality at first impression. this particular installment of the brown sisters books had really good character development and realization of one's self. i liked how eve and jacob built up their friendship into relationship based off getting to know one another's backgrounds and their differing emotional shields. overall, i loved the storyline especially one figuring out who they are, along with the really cute small town backdrop, along with monty and his fun sisters. there was something particularly lacking for me on the romance though in contrast how i adored danikazafir in their entirety beginning to end, but i really did like both eve and jacob as characters separately, their eventual ability to talk things out acknowledging feelings along with their adorable moments especially jacob always admiring her and falling more from afar. nevertheless, everyone who has enjoyed the other brown sisters books will love this one as well for some good fluffy yet quite steamy romance!

Thank you to Avon and Harper Collins (via NetGalley) for the ARC!
Content warnings (also printed in the front of the book! Yay!): mentions of childhood neglect; anti-autistic ableism
SIGH. This is bittersweet, because I am sad that the Brown Sisters' saga is at an end, but oh my, what an end it was! It is safe to say that Eve's (mis)adventures in love are my favorite of the series and that Talia Hibbert has created a character who deserves all the hugs ever. I know that Dani's book has been super popular among readers of the series, but I hope that Eve's story resonates with people as well because I have a special place in my heart for the youngest Brown sister.
A lot of what Eve goes through resonated with me: feeling like a failure and like she hasn't been able to find the thing in life she's supposed to be good at; being given chance after chance but still not doing quite the right thing; the guilt of feeling like you should have found your footing because, technically, you're an adult, so why don't you have it all together?? Boy, do I know that feeling...
But now on to the fun parts, because this is a romance novel after all: I absolutely LOVED the chemistry between Eve and Jacob. They are so good together, and they are (for the most part) super straightforward with each other, which I love so much. There is of course the third act wrench in the works that all romance readers are familiar with, but I liked the way it was done in this book. It wasn't because the characters were being stubborn and wouldn't admit their feelings for each other. Eve and Jacob are straightforward from the start, which was refreshing to see when so many romance novels are full of miscommunication and misinterpretations. There is, of course, mutual pining (one of my favorite tropes EVER) and Eve and Jacob REALLY dislike each other when they first meet, so there are plenty of standard romance tropes here. But I loved the fact that, because Jacob is autistic, that he values getting straight to the point and not dancing around feelings. Eve is happy to meet him there, which makes for a really great dynamic.
As I said already, this is my favorite of the Brown Sisters' stories. I tried sooo hard to finish it last night, but I had to give up at 2:00 AM because my eyes refused to stay open. I think Talia Hibbert has another hit on her hands, and I can't wait for the rest of the world to read it. This book is out March 9th!

I worked very hard to come up with big girl words for this review instead of the general fangirl squealing and/or swoon-adjacent sighing emanating from my person after reading this book. So, you're welcome.
My incoherence is the fault of Eve Brown and this book in general's insatiable effervescence. When Eve finds herself kicked out and told to get a job and stick with it, she storms off in a fury and applies for the first job she stumbles across... And promptly hits her potential employer with her car. Unfortunately (or is it??) for the beleaguered and now broken and bruised Jacob, he needs a chef for his B&B ASAP, so the two are stuck together. It's a sunshine and stormcloud romance, a hilarious series of misadventures, and a thoughtful commentary on failure and how we internalize it. Both leads have layered, emotional histories to contend with, and I actually teared up during one of their heartfelt conversations. I also found myself cackling aloud at the frequent witty turns of phrase, ridiculous situations, and one particularly amusing conversation about Totally Spies.
All in all, this romance is exactly my type on paper. I struggled to put it down and wanted to stay wrapped up in this nest of good feelings forever. Also, if the Montrose siblings are not the subjects of a future spinoff series, I plan to mutiny. Thanks to NetGalley and Avon for the opportunity to read this book. It's out this week on 3/9!

After Eve's parents confront her about her most recent failure and her uncertain future, she flees and finds herself at Castell Cottage with its grumpy owner Jacob. After an unfortunate accident, Eve stays on to help Jacob with the B&B. There, she discovers many things about herself including her passion for food and grumpy B&B owners.
This was bittersweet for me. I absolutely adored getting to know Eve and Jacob, but I am sad that this is the last Brown Sisters book. This entire series has be a rock-solid hit for me, and as with the other books, the strength of this installment is Hibbert's talent for crafting fantastic characters and her knack for smart and witty dialog.
I won't disagree with you if you concluded Eve was a hot-mess-princess when you first met her, but I was so taken with her effervescent personality, it didn't matter to me. Like iron fillings to a magnet, I could not resist her pull. Not only would she say things that made me smile, she would do things that showed her kindness and big heart. The Brown family was quite wonderful, but they sort of determined who Eve was, and she lived up to their vision of her. Once she was away from them, Eve was free to explore things that were not expected of her. She also did so under the watchful eye of one very demanding man.
Jacob had extremely high standards for himself and others. However, he was also fair and acknowledged a job well done. I felt like his demanding nature drove Eve to be her best. With Jacob, Eve found something she was good at and passionate about. She wasn't trying to achieve what other people thought she should, but rather, was working towards something she found on her own. I found myself very proud of her and what she accomplished at the B&B.
Jacob and Eve were quite a match. They actually seemed like a mismatch at first, but the more time they spent together, it was easy to see how well they complimented each other. They quickly picked up on each other's needs and found a comfort in one another that they hadn't found with others. I loved Eve, but it was especially important to me, that Jacob get his HEA. He was on the spectrum and treated terribly by his parents. He often felt as though he was too intense and scared people away. But he didn't scare Eve. She embraced all of him, just as he embraced all of her. My heart is getting all warm just thinking about them together. Really, they were so lovely.
Overall: This was a wonderful farewell to a family I have grown to love. Eve and Jacob were two of the most tenderhearted people, and I was so happy the universe brought them together.
