I have mixed feelings about this book. I loved grumpy hero Theo, liked his banter and chemistry with Lila, but she herself was a bit hard to take sometimes. She’s sweet but pushy, noses but well meaning. It sounds mean to say out loud, but she’s a bit like a dog...willing to please and looking for love. I felt bad for her through much of the story, but didn’t connect with her enough to truly like her, rather than just pity her.
The mystery surrounding Theo took some weird and rambling twists and turns. It got messy and unnecessarily complicated, to my way of thinking. So while the storyline itself was good, it came off as a while a little to Hallmark movie-like for me, who is not a fan of that channel. Still, a nice Christmas romance for those who like it sweet.

First, I want to thank Jenny Hale, Bookouture and NetGalley for providing me with this book so I may bring you this review!

WOW!! Christmas at Fireside Cabins is Jenny Hale’s best book that I have read from her! She is an incredible writer that touches your heart and soul with her incredible storylines. This story will put a smile on your face and love in your heart.

Instantly, the picturesque cover of this book captured my attention. It reminded me of a beautiful Christmas card. Kudos to the amazing graphics department for creating such a great cover!

Jenny does a phenomenal job at putting something for everyone into Christmas at Fireside Cabins. For example the strong bonds of friendships between the girls, the Christmas traditions, the budding romance, the heartache, and even some mystery thrown into the story.

You could tell that Jenny had a soft spot and was very passionate about the characters and storylines she wrote about. I even found myself in the girls featured in the story. This aspect made me more engaged in the story more so

My heart melted between the relationship of Rex and Theodore! How could you not just love that little kid.

I totally fell in love with both Theo and Lila and their incredible storyline. What they had was incredibly special.

Christmas at Fireside Cabins is another book of Jenny Hale’s that must be made into a Hallmark Movie.

I have to say that I don’t normally do Christmas books but I was completely tempted by the cover of this one. The inside didn’t let me down. This was the best kind of escapism and has me counting down the days until Christmas. My first book from this author but it won’t be my last!

This is a cute Christmas romance that has an incredibly wintry and scenic setting, a fun and unique cast of characters, and the happy ever after that everyone likes at this time of year. The well-meaning heroine is singleminded in her mission to help those around here, and can come across as pushy at times, but it's a great story of love, family, and finding one's place in the world.

3.5 Stars Rounded

Lily had arrived in Nashville three years ago with her musician boyfriend, little money and dreams for more. But the boyfriend is gone, even though Lily managed to find a job and an apartment, that included her building her own family group to replace the one she’d always longed for. Now the four friends are starting to move on and their dynamic is changing and expecting this to be their last ‘big Christmas trip’, they’ve booked a cabin in the Tennessee mountains to celebrate the holidays.

I adored the friendships here, and the support each of the women displayed for one another. Lily’s story is truly heart wrenching, and while this often made her a bit of a co-dependent doormat in her desire to ‘fix things’, her relationship with Theo and her own good heart saved her from the stamp on her forehead. With an elderly proprietor in Eleanor, a less than ‘as promised’ set of amenities, and the coffee shop with the curmudgeonly Theo in charge, with his disdain for all things red and green – the story has plenty of moments of conflict, cheer and unexpected ‘hope bringing’.

Jenny Hale manages to (every time) create characters that are flawed yet intriguing, and this story is no exception. Yes, there were issues that resolved a bit too neatly and quickly for real life, but the heart of the story is the magic of Christmas and the spirit of goodwill to all – and that is contained here in spades. Everyone finds something they need and want in the story – and perhaps even bits and pieces they hadn’t yet discovered – but for a holiday, quick read, leave a smile on your face read – this is it.

I received an eArc copy of the title from the publisher via NetGalley for purpose of honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility.

This was a an enjoyable book with a sweet story. Lila is mostly alone and traditionally spends the holidays with a few friends each year. This year, they opt to rent out a snug cabin in the TN hills. Things do not turn out as planned at all from the moment they arrive. For Lila, this includes meeting a grunting barista who seems annoyed every time she is around. Theo is a grouch and a mystery to most of the town but Lila opts to push and find the good in him.

Christmas at Fireside Cabins is a quick holiday read that gives you all those warm feelings and the HEA that you particularly want during this time of year. Theo had some backstory that was just too far on the side of unbelievable for me but he was likable as was the cast of characters surrounding him and Lila. I loved the small town feel as well as the setting in TN. I think if you are willing to overlook some of the hero's story for the pleasure of reading a fun, sweet holiday romance than this book is for you. It is well written and a book that will have me looking for more from Hale in the future.

Christmas at Fireside Cabins - Jenny Hale

I was given a copy of this book in exchange for a fair review thanks to BookOuture and Netgalley.

Lila Evans doesn’t have any family to spend the holidays with. To make up for this, Lila usually takes a weeks vacation with her friends; Charlotte, Piper and Edie. This year they are going to spend a week at the Fireside Cabins in the Tennessee hills.

Lila truly believes in the Christmas spirit of helping others, and when she realises that Eileen is struggling to run Fireside Cabins, Lila is prepared to do all that she can to help.

This novel is full of Christmas spirit and is a fun and cosy festive read, just perfect to read on an evening in front of a roaring fire.

This is the first time I have read anything by Jenny Hale, but I have more on my shelf that I am now looking forward to reading.

Rating: 4/5
A lovely festive read for the upcoming festive season

This was a feel good festive read. Some twists and turns throughout but you get the happy ending which you hope for. The characters were great and the setting sounded so nice. I wish we had Christmas things like that in the uk.

I imagine I am not the only person starting christmas books in October this year (2020), I am guessing most of us just want this year to be over.

If you are looking for the perfect Hallmark movie type christmas book then I highly recommend Christmas at Fireside Cabins. It has everything a good movie needs, romance, christmas and the perfect setting in Pinewood Hills.

Pinewood Hills is described magnificently and you can see the places vividly in your mind as you read. From the enchanted forest to the caves you feel like you are right there with the characters. The festiveness is gorgeous and made me feel so warm inside as I imagined the cosy fires and twinkling fairy lights. I imagined the cabin at Fireside to be so perfect for a girls week away and is definitely the sort of place I would like to spend christmas even in it's run down state.

Both Lila and Theo as well as Eleanor, Charlotte, Piper, Edie and especially Rex are very likeable and I enjoyed getting to know them. There is definitely room to get to know the other 3 girls better. Even as Theo is so dark and brooding you know there is another side to him which shows throughout.

Like I said at the start, this is the perfect book for someone looking for a cosy, curl up on the couch in front of the fire with a hot chocolate type of book. Although it is very predictable I still found I couldn't turn the pages quick enough! Jenny Hale is a new author for me but definitely one I will be looking for in the future.

Lila loves Christmas! Lila and her three closes friends always go away a trip before Christmas and this year is no different.
Lila, Edie, Piper and Charlotte head of for a week staying at Fireside Cabins. The cabins turn out to be run down and in need of some money and TLC. On a visit to the local Coffee shop Lila meets the mysterious owner Theo, leading to how Lila looks for somewhere more permanent to call home. With the support of her friends she finds the confidence to set up home there.
Fireside Cabins are set a couple of hours drive from Tennessee in the snowy mountains. I instantly felt the magic of Christmas when the girls decorated their cabin.
With lots of love and laughs throughout. Meeting lots of characters on the way.. this is is perfect place for a Christmas Vacation.

4 Star review of Christmas at Fireside Cabins by Jenny Hale
I love any story that is centred around my favourite holiday of the year, Christmas. I also love stories set in small towns, such as Pinewood Hills, so for me this was a win/win.Christmas is a time for family and friends to get together.
My heart broke for Lila Evans and the loneliness that she felt , missing her father. Determined to do something different, she arranges a getaway with her closest friends to Fireside Cabins in the Tennessee hills. Having been to Tennessee a few years ago, I couldn’t wait to read this book.
Sadly for Lila and her friends, the cabins are not at all what they expected, run down and on the brink of closure, Lila wants to help the owner Eleanor and this was heart warming. Meeting Theo Perry and sparks fly, but Lila has the feeling that there is more to Theo than meets the eye.
Could Pinewood Hills be the place that Lila can begin again? Will she be able to help Eleanor save Fireside Cabins? One click and find out.

Thank you Netgalley and publishing house for the ARC of this lovely book! This was just what I needed to read right now. Christmas, friendship, love, chasing your dreams and helping others all tied up in this cozy book. If this book doesn’t put you in the Christmas mood, I don’t know what will. Lila and her friends embark on their annual Christmas vacation only to find the cabin in disrepair. They decide to make the best of it because the owner Eleanor is a delightful older lady. Theo, who owns the coffee shop in town, is quite a grouch which entices Lila to figure out why and try to make him smile. This story was just a delight.

This is a nice story, very predictable and a little cheesey at times. It's very unrealistic the time scale, she is only there a week originally and it could have been better written to incorporate the unfolding of the spark over a few days but obviously she was only there a week and it was fast forwarded but it's very obvious and unrealistic.

However it is a Christmas book and these are the most unrealistic books and it's acceptable because we all need a cozy comfy read at Christmas and this book does not let you down on this score.

Seeing past the moments when your eye rolls as situations that are just off the mark, it is a great story the location sounds lovely and it's got all the tinsel and love vibes a Christmas book needs.

Thank you for the opportunity to review this new novel.

I love Christmas Books! They're very feelgood :) This one started out fine but then it got slower and I couldn't identify the force behind the story or Lily's goal. It didn't give me an incentive to continue reading. Then around 30% Lily started to force herself on to Theo, not taking no for answer and as a cliche, she thinks she's destined to save him. Really? He doesn't want to be saved and clearly shows that. This is just weird! It's not romantic and definitely a bit stalkerish.... I dnf:ed it then. I hate when the protagonist shows zero self-respect.

THIS WAS SO CUTE! Sorry for the capital letters but I'm excited!
This book proves that family doesn't always mean blood. Those closest to you will always come through, and those you meet will always have a chance to settle in a special page in your heart.
These characters were great. Lila, with the big heart, wanting to help everyone and save the world and Theo, the very mysterious cafe owner capture your attention and have you flipping the pages. Supporting characters are wholesome as they come (minus Alexa, but every cute story needs a psycho). Everyone supports each other, making sure that the Holidays are spent with a warmth filled heart and joyous soul.
The last couple of chapters felt a little rushed but I didn't find anything left open, Hale did so wonderful wrapping everything up in a beautiful bow.
It was a great quick wholesome read, pulling you face first into the Holiday spirit.

Lila lost her Mother when she was born. And her Father at age twenty. She has no other family. It's Christmas time and all she wants is her surrogate family around her. Everyone's life and careers are at a crossroad and it looks like she may be spending Christmas alone. Lovely clean Christmas story

Fall in love with Fireside Cabins, Lila and her friends!

With a supportive network of girls around her Lila finds Christmas that more bearable without her family as the girls take a break each year. This year's choice is Fireside Cabins and the owner Eleanor, plus distant, grumpy Theo at the coffee shop are about to change Lila's world.

A festive romance about relationships in all it's forms with those closest to you - friends, family and romance.

Lila has a heart of gold wanting to help Eleanor renovate the Cabins and sprinkling Christmas magic decorating for the holiday season.
