Mine to Keep is book three in the series but you do not have to read the previous books to be caught up. The characters here are easy to follow. Bonnie has been out on her own since she was eighteen wanting to be away from her father and brother. It seems though she still is always tied to them and wanting to help her father for at twenty-five she goes to see him and overhears them talking about another scheme. Once inside she has to hide quickly because some men show up and end up taking her father and brother.
Roman is a bodyguard and enforcer to Sergei and when he is asked to take Cassie to find Bonnie that is when he wants to help her. Roman has come from a horrible background in Russia and lets no one close. Bonnie because of her past keeps people away as well and does not take to kindness at all. The two of them make for a perfect pair and they each slowly begin to trust the other one. Roman continues to search for her father and brother all the while wanting to get to know Bonnie. She does not want to put herself out there for she feels when he is done, she will be left alone again. See how this story all plays out. A very good story and the two characters of Bonnie and Roman are fantastic. Once again, the author has done a great job with the story a worthy read.

This was a fun and heartwarming mafia romance (now there's a sentence you don't hear often). I love how the heroes in this series are all dominant and brooding men but underneath it all they are cinnamon rolls. It makes the romances that much sweeter since our heroines are the only ones they let in. And the heroine of this story was one that I was rooting for from the first chapter. Bonnie has had a hard life but despite all that she is still trying to improve her situation. Life has also taught Bonnie that she isn't good enough for anyone so she has pretty high walls and I loved seeing her knocking them down. Roman is the perfect hero for this story. He has a similar background to Bonnie and he works hard to keep her protected and feel worthwhile. The romance between them built up slowly which really allowed them to trust each other and that made the payoff for when they finally get together that much better.

After reading Hers to Tame I was excited to get the chance to read more from Rhenna Morgan and I have to say I wasn't disappointed. I really enjoyed this story as well as the relationship between Roman and Bonnie. Bonnie of course was hesitant to some things because of her history with her family and Roman was definitely an alpha personality, but the way things came together was wonderful.

Though this one is part of a series you can definitely read it without reading the previous books. Morgan's writing style is quick to read and has a ton of not only character development, but the plot is paced really well and constantly keeps you going forward.

Mine to Keep is the third book in the NOLA Knights series. This one is Roman and Bonnie's story. I think this one is probably my favorite out of the three books in the series. Bonnie is a friend of Cassie and she finds herself in a tough spot when her father and brother are kidnapped. Roman is immediately taken with Bonnie and vows to help her find them.

As I said, this is my favorite out of the three in the series. I loved Roman. I loved how he did everything he could to make Bonnie feel like she was worth it. Their banter was fun and their chemistry was very intense. My heart kept breaking for Bonnie. She had been doing everything she can do her whole life to not be like her family. She had real anxiety in new situations, yet she also has a tough face that she put on to counteract it. I just wanted to give her a big hug. I'm not sure if there will be any more books in this series, but I look forward to reading them if they get written.

He wants to be her hero
I always love a good Russian mafia story and this author has outdone herself this time. These two characters really tug on the heart strings and I found myself enthralled with the story right from the very beginning. This story was fast-paced and constantly moving with all of the action and danger I have come to expect from the NOLA knights. I enjoyed every moment on the way to the HEA and I am already looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

Bonnie is a girl who keeps to the straight and narrow. She always does the right thing and is working hard to make a better life for herself. She is tired of having to bail out her father and brother from their debts and bad decisions. When she goes to her father’s house, she finds herself in the middle of something sinister and calls the one person she can count on, her friend Cassie. When Cassie shows up with a Russian mobster, Bonnie does know if she should trust him or turn tail and run as far as she can from him.

With Roman to the rescue, he quickly takes Bonnie under his protection and vows to keep her safe at all costs. Bonnie does not understand what being under protection means, and she finds herself living at Romans house and leading a very different life than she has ever known. Can Roman keep her safe and guard his heart? Will Bonnie start trusting her new family as they keep searching for her father and brother?

What a face paced read this was. I really enjoyed Bonnie and Romans’ story. I loved catching up with the previous characters from the series as well. This had all the makings of a great book, a mystery, a feisty heroine, a handsome strong male hero, and a group of supporting characters that had their own amazing stories. I did not read the whole series, but had no problems catching up as the author did an excellent job of filling the reader in on the back stories. Thank you so much to the author Rhenna Morgan, Carina Press (Harper Collins Publishing) and NetGalley for an advanced copy of the book to review. It was fabulous! All opinions expressed for this review are unbiased and entirely my own.

I had almost given up on finding a new mafia romance series I really love (most of the ones I enjoy were written in the early 2010s), and then Rhenna Morgan gave us the NOLA Knights series! Sexy Russian ex-pats who protect New Orleans, have their own moral code, and fall head-over-heels for their heroines? Yes, please!

MINE TO KEEP was a fun addition to this fast-paced series! It helps that the book has one of my favorite tropes, big bad hero helps the tough, street smart heroine out of an untenable situation because he has ~feelings~ for the first time. Our heroine comes from a family of cheats and liars but has done her best to stay on the right side of the law when her family’s misdeeds finally catch up to them; the heroine turns to her friend with mafia connections and she sends the hero to help.

My favorite part of these books are the grand and thoughtful gestures the heroes make for their heroines and Roman, our hero, might be the most romantic yet. Everything he did for the heroine made me a little swoony. He also was protective without being an alpha jerk, which is a more difficult balance to strike than one would think.

The suspense plot was well done, if a little predictable. But my biggest problem was that I wanted Roman to get into more depth with his childhood and demons. I felt like they were skimmed over and the heroine didn’t really know what she was getting herself into.

Overall, I am a huge fan of this series. Rhenna Morgan has a fun and sexy way of crafting a series that makes you want more and more and more! Here’s hoping for many more Knights in the future!

This is Book #3 in the NOLA Knights Series by this author and it was well worth the wait! Roman and Bonnie's chemistry is quite steamy from the minute they meet. Another wonderful romantic suspense in this series that has all the elements I look for and enjoy. I have read reviews that suggested reading the previous series, Men of Haven, before reading this series. Unfortunately I haven't read the Men of Haven series yet, but I didn't have a problem following along in these books whatsoever. A great addition to the NOLA Knights series. I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC for NetGalley.

Mine to Keep Rhenna Morgan
NOLA Knights #3

Loved this book but then, I expected I would since I have loved every book I have read by this author! Once started I could not stop reading…had to find out just how Bonnie and Roman would manage their happily ever after. I was caught just as quickly and as tightly as Roman caught Bonnie! Great story

What I liked:
* Bonnie: smart, sassy, a good woman that made the best of a bad situation. She cared for her family even though they did not always take care of her. She so deserved to be found, loved and protected by Roman.
* Roman: intelligent, strong, lethal, an enforcer and made man with compassion and strong love for those he considered his family. He was perfect for Bonnie and deserved her love. He was also HOT stuff in more than one way…an alpha male through and through.
* Seeing Sergei, Evie and Emerson Petrovyn along with Cassie and Kir Vasilek as well as also getting to see some of the men and women from the Haven series. I love both groups of people!
* That strong men known for being ruthless businessmen also have a soft loving side for those they care about and consider family.
* That it was well written
* That I cared what would happen to the characters
* That I knew Roman had a ruthless side…not sure *I* know anyone like that but do enjoy meeting them in fiction.
* The connection between Bonnie and Roman
* All of it really except…

What I didn’t like:
* The person who kidnapped Bonnie’s father and brother
* That Bonnie had such a tough time before meeting Roman
* Having to say goodbye to the characters…wouldn’t mind being a member of their family!

Did I like this book? Yes
Would I read more by this author? Definitely

Thank you to NetGalley and Carina for the ARC – This is my honest review.

This is a stellar antihero romance!

Roman is perfect, he is the best kind of antihero. Extremely loyal to anyone who matters to him. Possessive and throws his alpha vibes around left and right. When he finds what he wants he will stop at nothing to get it and keep it!

"Ah, vozlyublennaya. We will be many things together. But we will never be over."

Bonnie has been cleaning up after her family her entire life. She has never had anyone who truly was at her back and wanting to help her. She is also extremely embarrassed about the life she has lived because of her family so she has not let many close. Her friend Cassie (from book 2) has been trying to push her way into Bonnie's life without much success until Bonnie finally needs someone to help her.

Which is how she meets Roman.

"Leave the past behind you where it belongs. Give your future to me."

These two were not really insta-love. Definite insta-attraction. Roman basically stalks her for a while (my favorite trait of an alpha), and is luckily there to save her. (See stalkers can be handy sometimes). This is really where their story starts. And it is a great ride.

Fun characters, and an easy read with low-angst. You kinda know whats going on from the start with the family, but it won't bug you. The drama and mystery is in the backend of this story.

"A happy woman is the sign of a wise man. You should remember that. "

This can definitely be read as a standalone. And I'm very much looking forward to starting at book 1!!

I am a sucker for hot, alpha bad boys turned swoon worthy heroes. So of course I instantly rooted for Roman to win over Bonnie and be her fairytale ending. This story held my interest with the sizzling chemistry, action, and drama throughout. Even without reading the first two books it was easy to follow and connect with all the characters. This is a series that I want more of and will be going back to read those prior to this one.

Mafia romance is one of my absolute favourite subgenres within the romance category. It may seem like it has a very standard 'this is how it goes' format but there is so much that can be added and twisted and made into a creative, original masterpiece within the subgenre - and Rhenna Morgan is a master at turning what can often be a very dark subgenre into something light and easy to read, enjoyable for mafia romance lovers and newbies to the genre alike!

Mine to Keep is the third book in the NOLA Knights series and features one of my favourite heroes, Roman Kozlov, also known as the poster child for being the 'strong, silent type'! Seriously, from the moment that man is introduced, I *knew* it was going to take a special kind of woman to get that man out of his shell. Roman is a tall, dark and dangerous delight to read about, and he meets his match in Bonnie Drummond.

What can I say about Bonnie, except that she is a strong, independent bada** and has learnt to hold her own. Given her family life and the constant pressure and responsibilities thrown her way, it's understandable that she struggles to trust people. But when things with her family go south, she's going to have to open up to someone. And that someone comes with other someones - one of whom happens to be: the hero!

The storyline of Mine to Keep was primarily focused on the development of Roman and Bonnie's relationship. It was really great to delve into and expand on their journey together; however, there is also the additional drama of what brought the two characters together. Slowly but surely the pieces come together as they discover what happened to Bonnie's father and brother, and figure out a plan to save the day.

One of my favourite things about Rhenna Morgan's style, and I mentioned this briefly above, is how she is able to create lighthearted reads for anyone even remotely interested in the subgenre. There isn't an overabundance of violence and nefarious plots, but enough mafia elements to keep 1) new readers to the genre intrigued by these protective, alpha heroes, and 2) familiar readers to the genre intrigued by the lesser explored responsibilities of mafia men that wouldn't typically be mentioned in the darker romances. Basically, this is one series you won't want to miss!

Now I'm eagerly awaiting for Morgan's next release but in the meantime, I have a number of her backlist titles calling out to me!

You can not improve perfection. ~ Roman Kozlov

*Swoon* I absolutely LOVED this book. It's the best in the series so far. Roman was the perfect alpha Hero and really made this book. I love a good alpha male, but oftentimes, they are overwhelming and come off as being too heavy-handed and insistent on getting their way. That was not the case at all with Roman, which is surprising given what we knew of him before. Yes, Roman knew what he wanted and went after it. But he was gentle with Bonnie, considered her feelings, spoiled her, was there to protect her (until he wasn't), and gave her time to accept that she was 'his queen' and 'his Bride.' He also showed that he was vulnerable when around Bonnie and I appreciated that in an alpha. Don't get me wrong, he was still someone you didn't want to cross and would do what was necessary to protect his family, but he showed a gentler side with Bonnie. And all those sweet nothings ... *fans myself.*

Bonnie was also a wonderful heroine. She was sassy, spoke her mind, was head-strong, but also heeded the advice of others when necessary (until she didn't). She put up with her dysfunctional family for so long and kept being there for them, even if it meant she had to give up things she needed in life. She was the only good apple in the bunch, yet she was afraid to give Roman a chance at first because she didn't think she was good enough for him. I loved that she saw the best in Roman even when he was afraid she'd run from him once she found out his past.

They just made such a cute perfect couple. Bonnie could hold her own against Roman and Roman always made Bonnie feel cherished.

There is some suspense/drama as you expect from Ms. Morgan. One part made me tear up :-( I expected the suspense to be the main focus given how the book started, but I'm glad the romance was the main focus since it made me really get to know Roman & Bonnie and fall in love with both characters.

I'm looking forward to the next book. I hope it's Bonnie's brother!

I have loved this series (spinoff of the fabulous Men of Haven series). Bratva, sort of? Yes. Russians? Double Yes. Roman is off the charts, seriously, badass, alpha and loving. The only problem I had was with Bonnie. Even though I appreciated that Bonnie did not want to sponge off of others, her saying it all of the time got on my nerves. Bonnie is a strong person and I admired her willingness to keep her family close and help them. I tell you what, having someone like Roman take care of you, love you and meet all of your needs, you better jump on that!

Strong Sexy Russian. Sassy strong willed leading lady.
So much love for this one.
A perfect example of an alpha male who falls completely into love with the girl who doesn’t think she deserves to be loved or good enough for him.

Bonnie Drummond is twenty-five years old. Her entire life, her father and brother have done whatever they could cheat the system. Bonnie has made her life’s goal to distance herself from their activities, living honestly, working hard for everything she has. But Family… Bonnie is always having to bail them out of one problem or another. Doing everything she can to help them keep their heads above water. Because of this she has nothing. She doesn’t even have dreams to fall back on. But this time her brother and dad are in real trouble. She doesn’t know what to do or who to turn to. So out of pure desperation, she calls the only real friend she has. Bonnie finds herself under the watchful eye of Mr. tall, dark, and stunningly muscular, yet brooding Russian.

Roman is a man with a past. Loyal to his family and working to help those who have had a similar start to life. He has a goodness he doesn’t share beneath the layers of his dented armor. Roman is thoughtful and meticulous with the choices he makes. You find just how big he truly loves.
So many sparks between these two. The build up this story is amazing. There is a bit of a slow burn aspect as she is fighting her feelings and he worries about his tainted past. But once caution is thrown to the wind the heat is on.
I was happy to be back visiting New Orleans with the characters in the NOLA Knights series and small glimpses of the Men of Haven. These stories do stand alone on their own but if you like sexy alpha men who walk the line you must read all these stories. Every story I’ve read by this author has been sexy and intriguing.
Morgan has a magic when she creates these men and women. The women are unique and beautiful beyond the physical. I always anticipate her books like a child on Christmas Morning. I want to know who is next and what is going to happen. Bonnie and Roman are pure magic on the page.

Mine to Keep is the third book in the NOLA Knights series by Rhenna Morgan. A spin-off to the Haven Brotherhood series, but you do not need to have read it to enjoy Mine to Keep. Morgan has written a hero that is sure to steal the hearts of the reader.

I love Rhenna Morgan’s Haven Brotherhood series 💙💙💙. A few of those books are something that I have been rereading during this pandemic season. Escaping into a fun fantasy world is just what I need. NOLA Knights is a spinoff of the Haven series and there are some recurring characters, which is super fun to see. You can read the book as a stand alone, but I am very particular about my series reading 😉

Our two main characters (who don’t know they are looking for love...yet) are Bonnie Drummond and Roman Kozlov. Bonnie has tried to do her best to get away from her family that does any thing to cheat the system or con someone out of their money. Roman is an enforcer for Sergei Petrovyh and making strides in getting his own businesses up and running. He has a dark past and feels that he is not worthy of anything good in his life. He is trying to make up for things he did by moving forward as a man of honor.

Bonnie’s father is sick and there is not a lot of money to pay for his medical bills. Bonnie works all the time, but it’s difficult for her to make ends meet. He brother and father go missing one night and Bonnie calls the only person she can think of to talk to. She calls Cassie and she brings the mafia! Bonnie doesn’t want any shady dealings, but she doesn’t expect to have feelings for Roman. Roman just came along to do his job and help someone in need, but things quickly changed as sparks started flying between him and Bonnie.

I love that this book explores shades of gray in the world and in actions people take. Rhenna Morgan is a master at writing alpha characters who are bound and determined to keep their women safe and to provide for them. It may be a swoony fantasy, but it sure is a hot and sexy world to escape into. Throughout the series, she has her characters leave their past behind them and start over with a person they have fallen in love with. Roman loves with his entire soul and it takes a while for Bonnie to learn to trust him and allow him to take care of her. If you are ready for a strong, sexy Russian to fall in love with...you need to read this book!

I received a complimentary copy of Mine to Keep in exchange for an honest review. As a disclaimer, I did not read the previous books in this series.

I had a few reservations leading into the plot with the Russian Mafia theme. This theme was a little "over the top," with assassinations, unlimited financial resources, access to super secret data, etc. Since I was prepared for that type of activity, I was able to move on and enjoy the plot development leading up to Bonnie and Roman meeting through a mutual contact, Cassie. This was well done.

The relationship building fell flat for me. Roman was a romantic and in his own way, he really cared about Bonnie and her well being. However, he was way too controlling for my comfort. He made Bonnie quit her jobs, and move in with him. He made assumptions that they were an item and "she was his," etc." I know where the author was going with this, but it didn't sit well with me.

I did enjoy the ending. It was well thought out, and I even felt a few strong emotions when Bonnie and her dad shared a moment.

Overall this was a mediocre read. The writing style was well done, and there were some good highlights, but the plot, and lack of relationship building was disappointing.

3 1/2 Stars for the adventurous romance!

Bonnie was not going to get sucked in to her family's world. She was going to make something of herself, despite having to bail her father and brother out time after time. But when they get kidnapped while she hides, she knows she has to do something about it. She contacts her friend Cassie and Cassie brings Roman (her boyfriend's brother) with her to help ... as he's the family's enforcer. The electricity flies between Bonnie and Roman ... but she doesn't want to be involved in that world and he doesn't believe he good enough for her.

Although I like the characters and the storyline is great, I just had a hard time believing that Bonnie could go about her normal routine with knowing her brother and father were kidnapped. Then there are alpha males ... but Roman takes the cake. He just kinda bulldozes into Bonnie's life and expects her to do as he says. But the book did keep me intrigued as there were lots of twist and turns and I wanted to find out what happened to her father and brother.

I received an early copy courtesy of Harlequin - Carina Press through NetGalley in exchange for a honest reiew.
