Thoughts of Dog by Matt Nelson is an important book in this pandemic time. It reminds us that we obviously don't deserve dogs, but these superior beings will always be loyal to human. Albeit not thick, this book can give you some peace of mind and even the shortest escapism from the shitty world is worth your money and time.

Very cute book about sweet and innocent lovable dogs! Makes you want to hug your pets right after. The illustrations are simple but adorable. At first I didn’t get why there were so many fragmented sentences and “fren” as I thought this was a kid book. However I have read up on it now and see the entire backstory so feel like my thoughts have some context.

This is a very sweet little book which will be enjoyed by anyone who loves dogs. The random full stops were somewhat irritating but the illustrations are lovely and bring the words to life.

Who can resist that adorable cover?! I'm not a social media fan but I did enjoy the book WeRateDogs so I knew this book would be good. And it is. The illustrations are super cute. Dog's life practically revolves around his stuffed "fren" Sebastian, which is adorable. This book will make you smile and then encourage you to go hug your dog immediately.

When I saw this nugget of joy on Netgalley, I couldn't help but snatch it! I have been following the Thoughts of Dog twitter-account for some time now, and it always puts a smile on my face. Especially because my parents had a couple of goldens too, and I can always vividly remember how those dogs were - and the tweets of this account fit perfectly.

This short but sweet book mostly has a couple of those tweets grouped into short chapters, enhanced with bright illustrations. I of course remembered some of those tweets, but some I did not. The chapter about the new mail man brought tears in my eyes - I can be sentimental like that, which is why I obviously love dogs.

It is a great book to leaf through, enjoy the brightness and smile at the simpleness.

Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book, but my opinions are my own.

4 out of 5 stars - If you ask me, I'll tell you to read it.

Thoughts of Dog was just as good in book form as it is in Tweet form! It's short and sweet. The book is a series of short stories from Dog, each story telling us about his year. He tells about winter, 4th of July, Halloween, and other days.

Absolutely adorable, of course. I love the "Thoughts of Dog" Instagram account and this book is no different. The stories that included "fren Sebastian" were my favorite. Dogs really are the greatest.

WE. DO. NOT. DESERVE. DOGS.

We don't, we just simply do not deserve dogs. This book was just as wholesome and heartwrenching as the Instagram account it stems from. This got me right in the feels.

I'm gonna go cuddle my dog now.

The most adorable dog with his most adorable stuffed animal toy. It was a joy to get to read this book and experience all the adventures of Dog. I read this book out loud to my younger sister, and we both enjoyed it tremendously, despite the fact that we're both way too old for children's books!
We awwwed and laughed at all the good parts and our hearts broke at all the heartwarming scenes between Dog and the people and things he got to do and see. I would highly highly recommend this book for all children to read and to cherish as this is the cutest book I've read in a long while. "Thoughts of Dog" is innocent, inventive, adorable, and far beyond what I expected. I love dogs so much and even have a husky at home, so this book hit a little differently and in all the right spots in my heart. I would definitely buy this book for a baby shower, or as a first day of kindergarten gift, etc. It can be enjoyed by all ages and it can certainly bring joy to even those who prefer other animals over dogs.
10/10 Recommend!!
