This book of beginners origami would be fun for kids and adults. It was easy to understand with the illustrations. There were quite a bit of cute animals though out it that were fun to make.

I received a complimentary copy via Netgalley. This is my honest unbiased opinion.

This is a lovely little book, so colourful and appealing. It would be an ideal introduction to origami for youngsters, as the instructions are very clear and easy to follow, so you can get fantastic results straight away, and there is a great farmyard theme with pig, horse, dog etc.
If you liked this, try the Origami Safari book from the same author which is just as lovely.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for letting me access an advance digital copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

A must buy book during pandemic! This book will keep kids having fun folding papers and discovering the animals in the farm. Very colorful and easy to follow, your children will love trying to make animals and make up story about them afterwards.

This origami book has beautiful pictures and was organized well. Some of the instructions were confusing and for people that are more comfortable with origami. However the designs weren't very complicated and required alot of filling in details with a pen/marker to make them look like the animals. Unfortunately my child wasn't as impressed. My main complaint was that sometimes an odd shaped paper was used as the starting paper and no size description was left. This made things a bit confusing. Some of the folds were also like this. Where I just had to guess how far to fold it since the description of how to do so wasn't stellar. I received a free ebook copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. The opinions stated are my own.

Another five-star offering from Dover Publications. As always with Dover origami books. this one contains an introduction to types of origami folding (with diagrams), colorful images of each project, and step-by-step instructions. A brief fact about the animal or plant (a few are included here (water lily and flower in the "In the Field" category) accompanies the project instructions. Little paper crafters are encouraged to draw in animals features to make the creatures more lifelike.

An okay book for a beginner. Sometimes I wishes the pictures were larger and the explanation a little better because it is a beginner book. A lot of new ideas!

I'm going to be honest, paper crafts haven't always been my thing. And I wouldn't really say that they are now. But for some reason, I thought it would be fun to try with a beginner origami book, and boy was I right. I had so much fun making these crazy looking little animals, and I can't wait to do it all again with the safari book.

I don't really think that all of the designs in this book are for beginners, but I think maybe with a little practice on the easy and medium ones you'd be able to get to the hard ones, but I don't recommend trying to do them right off the bat because yikes. Mine did not turn out at all. But that's okay. This is really the only time I've tried to do origami other than making those little paper star things everyone was obsessed with in elementary school, and I think that this book was a fun little stepping stone.

Origami Farm is a fun beginner origami tutorial collection by Anne Passchier. Due out 16th Oct 2020 from Dover, it's 96 pages and will be available in paperback format bundled with 24 sheets of origami paper.

This is a delightful collection of 22 models grouped roughly thematically: farm animals, in the barnyard, in the field, and the farm at night. The tutorials are all accessible and the drawings are very clear and well illustrated and concise. The difficulty of the projects range from beginner level to slightly more advanced and identified with 1-3 stars for difficulty. I am not an especially experienced folder (I would call myself a keen beginner) and I had no troubles following the diagrams at all. My only technical problem came with trying to inflate my fish which wanted to stay flat (you blow into the back of the fold). Manual inflation with a knitting needle worked perfectly.

Dover publications has long been a standard bearer for beautifully illustrated well made crafts books. This one is no exception. Everything is top notch. The colorful illustrations are whimsical and appealing. This would make a perfect gift for both enthusiasts and origami-curious beginners. Highly recommended for makers' groups, activity groups, art units in a classroom setting, library activity, gift for a young origamist, etc. Five stars - short and simple.

Disclosure: I received an ARC at no cost from the author/publisher for review purposes.
