Lucky Fujiki's first name must be some sort of cosmic joke, because she must be the unluckiest person in the world.. Ransom Payne has spent years building his chocolate empire and trying to put his past behind him, the past where Lucky turned him into a joke and emasculated him in front of everyone. But when their godmothers give them a call and beg a favor, they can't say no. Even if it does mean confronting their past.
This is the first book in a fun new series which combines fantasy and romance. The setting is Ever After, the enchanted town where all things fairy tale come to life. This was a fun rom-com with a lot of euphemisms for sex that were so fun you had no choice but to laugh. I am looking forward to the next book in the series to see more of these characters and see where the stories all go from here.

I wish I had a fairy godmother! Fairy Godmothers, Inc. by Saranna DeWylde is a wonderful story of being your own hero and finding your true love. Lucky feels as though she is not so lucky with all the unfortunate mishaps that tend to occur when she’s around. Ransom, her true love, has tried to move on from Lucky and has been successful in business but not in love. While their godmother’s attempt to save their own little town and concoct a plan to finally get these two love birds together, what ensues is a wondrous world of fairy tales and the reality of life. It truly is a remarkable mixup and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of this book. This was my first book by Saranna that I received as an ARC from the publisher and I know it won’t be my last!

Initially a light, whimsical read, Fairy Godmothers Inc had me hooked with a second chance romance and a fairy-tale setting. I loved the characters (especially the Godmothers!) and the town of Ever After does sound liek the perfect retreat.
However, as the book went on it started to feel as though it was trying too hard. Bits that were supposed to be funny were making me cringe and taking me out of the story. There also wasn't really much build up on the romance, so it felt a bit forced, and I wasn't totally clear on the history that the two main characters had! There was clearly a fair amount of set up for future books, but it made it feel like this couple weren't really the focus.
I enjoyed this book, but didn't love it!

Fairy Godmothers, Inc. is a charming story that I liked, but felt it suffered some on the branding front. It’s being sold as a romance, but it never really felt like one?
The “main couple” was underwhelming. It’s a charming concept, with both Lucky and Ransom being fairy godchildren and being brought back together due to the shenanigans of the godmothers. But I just never felt the spark between them.
And part of that was because I felt the story wanted to focus so much on the fairy godmother stuff. I liked them so much more, and how they’re working to build the town of Ever After. If this had been a story more focused on the meddling godmothers, which it seemed like it wanted to be, I would have liked this more. And I’d love to see a slightly more adult Godmothered, as that movie got me so hyped for this book (while the two have nothing to do with one another), and I’m bummed it didn’t fully deliver.
However, it’s a charming and fun story that attempts to capture that fairy tale magic for adults, and there are some good points here, which will ensure I’ll likely check out the next book. And perhaps the romance will work out a bit more for you.

This is a different take on the rom-com- it's a fairy tale with a diverse cast and a paranormal element. Fans of those genres likely will enjoy it for its characters (Lucky is fun) even is the plot is predictable., It wasn't for me - it was just too too- but give it a try. Thanks to netgalley for the ARC. Give it a try for diverting read.

This was a fascinating and unique plot line for a romance, and definitely caught my attention when I read the description. However, the story and writing ultimately failed to deliver upon the promised entertainment, and I ended up DNFing the book around the halfway mark (I tried y'all, I really tried). This was meant to be a fun, light-hearted RomCom and ultimately failed. The storyline was too confusing, the characters were not as dimensional as I would have hoped, and I felt as if there was simply too much missed potential in this book.
Many thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Title: Fairy Godmothers, Inc.
Author: Saranna DeWylde
Genre: Romance
Rating: 3 out of 5
If love is the source of all the magic in the universe, and the town of Ever After, Missouri, is the epicenter of enchantment, then the locals are in dire need of a reboot. At least according to resident fairy godmothers Petunia, Jonquil, and Bluebonnet. Their solution? Blow a bit of fairy dust in the direction of those in need of romance...what could possibly go wrong?
SOME KIND OF AWFUL...
Lucky Fujiki's first name is a cosmic joke. Her luck is so bad, even the number seven steers clear of her. But when her adorable godmothers ask for a favor, Lucky can't say no--even if she can already feel the bad juju waiting to strike. And her mission is even worse than she imagined: to promote Ever After as a wedding destination by faking a marriage to her first love and long-time ex, Ransom Payne--he of the Embarrassing Incident that neither of them will ever live down...
OR ALL KINDS OF WONDERFUL?
Ransom Payne has spent years building an impressive new reputation for himself, and now his godmothers want him to pretend to wed the one girl he'd like most to forget? Sure, weddings in Ever After could be a huge boon for his chocolate business, but risking more up-close-and-personal time with Lucky? Considering the stakes, it's a curse he'll have to bear, at the risk of being humiliated--or perhaps, bewitched...
I loved the idea of this: the fairy tale setting in the modern world, and I usually enjoy second-chance love stories. But all of this felt completely unbelievable to me—and I’m not even talking about the fairy-tale-setting-hidden-in-middle-America aspect. Although let’s be real: are you really trying to tell me that no one would have noticed Ever After and its friendly wildlife? Ever, in the history of the town?
Leaving that aside, the Embarrassing Incident was ridiculous. It was portrayed as this big horrific incident—and don’t get me wrong, I’m sure it was embarrassing—but do you really expect me to believe the press would be hounding Ransom years later over this? Or the idea that Lucky’s transference of bad luck would actually make the real news—obviously the National Enquirer would be all over it—and bring press from everywhere? Nope, sorry, this book came across as more of a farce than anything. Even the characters’ cussing felt forced and out of place in such a setting.

If you want to live a fairy tale but not the classic that Disney shows us, this is the ideal.
Between quirky and witty comedy and sexy paranormal romance, form an explosive romance that will delight any type of reader.

I don't think I'm the target audience for this book. Yes, it was a HEA love story, and I enjoy those. It was just... very far fetched. Talking woodland creatures? Paranormal foxes? A billionaire who is constantly mocked because once in college he accidentally... ahem... parked in the wrong garage??? It was just so silly that I couldn't thoroughly enjoy it. I try to remember, though.... Just because I don't enjoy a book doesn't mean that another audience won't adore it. There was a lot to like about the book- interesting characters and a great set up for future books in the series. Just be willing to suspend disbelief and go with the fairy tale. 3.5 stars, rounded up to 4.

This book was really cute and fun! I loved Ever After and the fairy tale characters re-imagined as town people. I will say that this book felt more like a sequel than a first book. I would have loved to have more of an introduction to Lucky and her bad luck and all the characters stories before the failing of the town, It would have helped to connect with them on a deeper level. Still though it was cute, and I am excited to see where the Kitsune spirit story goes next.

This was my first time reading this author.
The premise was highly intriguing, and yet it fell flat for me. For such a fast paced story, it seemed to drag on quite a lot. I mean, some key information isn't revealed to one of the main characters until about 50% in! And more than once I had to re-read a run-on sentence in order to make sense of it. I'd try to skip over these cumbersome lines only to discover a short time later that it held a truth or important lesson for one of the main characters, and I'd have to go back and struggle to make sense of it.
Key information seems to be left out of the story, there was an unfortunate lack of depth to the characters, and too often I found my attention wandering so much that I'd shut the book and easily turn to something else for a while. So many (too many?) other characters are introduced in preparation for their stories in the series I almost lost track of them all. One of the characters has multiple epiphanies, and yet never seems to grow in any way. And let's not talk about the plot holes so big you could fly a dragon through them!
I really wanted to like this book. Sadly, I just didn't. It's not a bad book, I've just evolved as a reader so that this type of book no longer holds any interest. Others may find it more to their liking.

I’m on the fence about this book. There were aspects I really liked - the town of Ever After, the fairy tale characters brought to life, but the story itself fell a bit flat. The three fairy godmother’s were fun at first and then kind of started getting a bit annoying at times. The live story was ok, although the secondary story had more potential.
2.5 🌟

I liked the idea, I was a huge fan of Once Upon A Time and this book was like that except more in the background than the show. A town of fairy tales trying to save their magic through love. The problem is the humor was a bit juvenile for me and while I liked the characters at times, the rest of the time it just seemed like we had a checklist of items for them to do and it didn’t flow as well as it should. Was it fun at times? Absolutely. Sweet at others? Of course. Just wasn’t my cup of tea I guess. It felt like it was missing some of the things I need in a romcom.

The author created an amusing, and highly interesting world, then filled it with sassy and addictive characters.
"Serious is good, but levity is better."
The only thing I didn't enjoy in this story was that whole "The boy who missed" thing.
That seemed like a ridiculous and weird addition to the story and far too much focus was wasted on it.
I'm excited the author is turning the godmothers and Ever After into a series!
I look forward to the next book.

Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington Books for an opportunity to read Fairy Godmothers Inc
A cute romance story that takes place in the town of Ever After. The three fairy godmothers decide to match make for their godchildren, who had a romance that didn’t work out years before.
I loved the fairy tale aspects of the book - introducing characters from various fairy tales into the story - but it did get to to be too many side stories at times and the magical animals were a little too much for me 🤷♀️ the love story of Lucky ( who is quite unlucky ) and Ransom was ok, but I actually liked the blossoming romance of Gwen and Roderick better .
If you like fairy tale tellings and romance, you may enjoy this so give it a try.

I liked the premise, I liked and enjoyed the characters (particularly the Godmothers), there was a nice touch of humor and rom-com feeling. Overall I enjoyed the book, just not as much as I thought or expected I would. The reason for that I feel was simply personal preferences/pet peeves. Some of the personality traits of the h/h tend to be ones that bug me when reading and the reason for their prior relationship failing and opposition to the current reunion didn't work for me as it rubbed along one of my personal plot line dislikes. However as I did feel it was well written and (as mentioned) liked the premise of turning Ever After Missouri from secret magical town to wedding destination and the Godmothers meddling that I will be looking out for the next book.

Fairy Godmothers Inc is an enchanting tale of Lucky who feels more unlucky than her name, and of Ransom who owns his own chocolate company. They have mutual Godmothers who meddle in their affairs to bring them together. The Godmothers ask Lucky and Ransom to have a fake marriage together to help sales in their town of Ever After.
To sum up the genre of this novel, I would say it's a rom com fantasy. I enjoyed the whimsical and witty characters as well. The meddling Godmothers made the story. Gwen and Roderick were nice supporting characters. I enjoyed the little back stories as to the other fairytale characters.

Fun!
I'm a sucker for anything fairy and Fairy Godmothers Inc. fit the bill perfectly.
Lucky Fujiki is always down on her luck. She is so unlucky in life that she passes on her unlucky vibes to anyone she comes in contact with. Ransom Payne (the name!) is her ex and has already been tarnished with her unluckiness during an unmentionable incident (ahem).
Meanwhile, Petunia, Jonquil, and Bluebonnet are fairy godmothers who are losing their touch. They have to bring love back in the town or else risk losing their powers.
So what happens next?
You guessed it right! The trio test their powers on their guinea pigs a.k.a. Lucky and Ransom to some hilarious results.
I liked this book. It was a light, pleasurable read with some lol moments. Will look out for books from Saranna DeWylde

Okay my lovely friends so I have very mixed feelings about this book. Actually I think saying this book was a mix of many things was it's biggest issue...
The hallmark loving half of me enjoyed the super corny happily ever after vibe that the author was going for. The title and cover had me squealing in excitement because I love all things fairy tale related, especially book retellings. I loved the fairy tale town, the promise of a happily ever after and the three meddling fairy Godmothers. I really felt like it was going to be a win...
Though those elements were there, what I found I got more often got was a book trying really hard to be funny but fell flat and steamy moments between Ransom and Lucky (who was forever UNlucky in love) that felt more raunchy than authentic. Let me explain...
Look don't get me wrong, I love a fun steamy scene, but though the chemistry was there, the steamy moments didn't have the story to back it up. It felt too intimate with characters I never really got to know...there was no buildup.
I think Fairy Godmothers Inc had a really cute foundation. It was a super easy read and I did enjoy moments of the book. I just wanted so much more for what could have been a really heartwarming story.
So this one was okay, I don't think I'll be picking up the next book in the series but I still love a good happily ever after, and the book did deliver on that.
Thanks to NetGalley and Kensington books for an arc of this book in exchange for my (very) honest review.
