In this second book of The Stone Witch series, Josie embarks on a frightening emotional journey. As she recovers from heart surgery and grows stronger, she realizes that the object implanted in her heart endows her with a mysterious power. The authors shows her skill in understanding the lives of teenagers and their friendships through showing how Josie’s friends—Seth, Blaze and Casey—rally to help her get back to “normal.” It slowly dawns on Josie that her life with never be “normal” again. I was especially intrigued by the dream chapters. The realism of dialogue and detail of the environment carried me to England in the 1820’s. The book ends—like all good mystery series—with a cliffhanger. I can hardly wait for the next installment.

This book is pretty good!
I think that the plot turning elements in the story are very well woven into the plot and we glide smoothly through the story.
One time read 👍

In the second part of the stone witch series we continue on with Josie after she is recovering from her surgery. Soon after, she discovers the object built into her heart is giving her a special power that she doesn't she doesn't understand straight away. What I love most is the way the author follows the lives of teenager is very accurate in representing a realistic teenage life, most in the way her (Josie's) friends help her through her recovery and help her try get her life back to a normal? state. But I think Josie slowly realises it probably never will be the same again.

Top points for the dream chapters! I found myself getting lost (in a good way) in the realism and the way they were written!

it's been a while since I read the first book but happy to have found this option on Netgalley! Looking forward to the next one!
