I enjoyed getting to know Bradley McGregor better in this book. He was a side character in the book, Cold Case Pursuit, which comes before this one in the True Blue K-9 Unit: Brooklyn continuity series.

I really liked the dynamic between Sasha and Bradley. They had some things in common from their pasts, including having a parents who were murdered in a high profile manner. I liked that they could relate to each other regarding the way these events impacted them.

A couple of times in the book, Sasha’s actions put her in direct harm, which was frustrating, however, it did make the book very exciting. Trying to discover the identity of the person trying to kill Sasha was definitely intense.

The author wrapped up the series with this book, tying up the loose ends to a murder investigation that spanned the entire series. I read books seven and eight in this series and had no trouble following the story.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

*): Even if I’m not a fan of Christian I liked this series and was hooked since the first instalment.
This is a highly entertaining and gripping book that kept me on the edge till the end.
The characters are well written and interesting, the mystery is solid and kept me guessing, the plot is tightly knitted and well written.
I loved the dogs and I think this is a good romantic suspense with a realistic love story and a cast of great characters.
I’m sad because this is the last book in this series.
It’s recommended.
Many thanks to Love Inspired Suspense and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine

Delayed Justice is the 8th book in the True Blue K-9 series, and actually contains two seperate mysteries. Any of these stories can be read as stand alones, this is a action packed story and one that I really enjoyed. This was a quick and easy read that kept me engrossed in the storyline. I definitely would recommend this book to others.

I received a ARC from NetGalley and the publisher Love Inspired Suspense, and this is my fair and honest review.

If like me you have not read any of the other stories in this series, rest assure that though there is a large cast of characters in the K-9 unit, this Christian, suspense romance, is a stand alone.
Detective Bradley McGregor’s childhood was one no child should endure. With addicts as parents not caring about anything but the next fix, his sole goal was to keep his little sister happy and taken care of. When his parents were murdered, he was only 14 years old and a suspect. But caring people gave them a home, and nowadays is determined to be the best on his job as a detective in the Brooklyn K-9 unit.
Sasha Eastman is a journalist who has a cable show delivering feeling good stories about individuals who have overcome adversities. She too has had losses, especially when her mother was murdered by her ex-lover. After a divorce and the death of her father, she has no desire to become involved with a man.
But when someone wants her dead, someone who looks exactly like the man that killed her mother, 20 years ago, Bradley is determined to keep her safe. A job that seems almost impossible when the stalker continues his attempts to kill her.
In the midst of this drama , feelings develop. Will Sasha finally open her heart to Bradley and take a chance at finding her HEA? If she does, will she survive the threats?
The plot will keep you engage, and the characters well developed.
Definitely a story well worth your time.
I was entrusted a copy of this book by Harlequin and Netgalley. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

Title: Delayed Justice
Author: Shirlee McCoy
Genre: Romance, Christian
Rating: 4.0 out of 5

Detective Bradley McGregor and his K-9 partner, King, come to the rescue when journalist Sasha Eastman’s targeted by a shooter who looks just like her mother’s murderer. But that killer supposedly died years ago in a shootout with the police. Now it’s up to Bradley and King to protect Sasha…but how can they stop a killer who’s already dead?

I enjoyed this much more than the last True Blue K-9 Unit: Brooklyn book I read. Solid writing, believable characters, and it wasn’t insta-love thankfully. Faith was worked naturally into the story and felt right for the characters, instead of being like checking off a box.

Of course, the dog is a big part of the story, and I always enjoy reading about these working dogs. They’re so smart! Sasha has been through some stuff, and she does make some bad decisions in this book, but she’s tough and smart, so it works out. Bradley is also a great character, and I enjoyed reading his point-of-view. This is a sweet, quick read with a hint of danger.

Shirlee McCoy is a bestselling author. Delayed Justice is her newest novel.

"Delayed Justice" is a Christian romantic suspense novel. It's the eighth book in a series, but each novel can be read as a stand alone. Sasha's shot at by a man who looks just like the man who murdered her mother. Only, he's dead. The shooter's also bold: he shot at her right in front of Detective Bradley, a man that she wanted to interview for her TV show. Bradley's concerned that she'll use this opportunity to get the personal details about his difficult past, but she clearly needs his and his K-9's protection.

The main characters worked hard to overcome difficult pasts. They were likable and reacted realistically to events. The suspense came from the repeated attempts to kill Sasha and their need to figure out who the attacker was and why he wanted to kill her. After wrapping up that case, Sasha used her investigative skills to help wrap up the ongoing murder investigation involving a recent murder that mirrored the murder of Bradley's parents. There was no sex or bad language. Overall, I'd recommend this exciting suspense.

Here we have book 8 in the True Blue K-9 Unit series. Each book features great K-9 officers. Shirlee McCoy is very good at suspense and takes her readers on quite a ride as yet another crime is solved with the help of some awesome police dogs. I love suspense novels and I love dogs, so these stories are particularly interesting. Recommended.

My thanks to the publisher for a digital copy of this book via Net Galley. I received no compensation and the opinion in this review is entirely my own.
