So many self help books offer increased health, insight, or even the answers to life's questions. Unfortunately there's barely a few sentences which resonate. Better Decisions, Fewer Regrets actually delivers on what is promised. This book helps you to ask yourself the right questions. There are countless pearls throughout which will only benefit the reader.

I wish this book had been written when I was in my early 20’s. What an excellent resource to help guide us as we navigate the simple and complex decisions of life. Andy Stanley lays out five sound questions that each of us should ask, every time a decision needs to be made. He discusses that each outcome we find ourselves currently living in, both good or bad, came from little decisions along the way. Developing a habit of leading ourselves well before we wind up living with a life of regrets, begins with question # 1, being honest with the person in the mirror. This question, along with the other four in the book will help build the framework for a life lived with fewer regrets. Those who claim to be Christ followers, will certainly be challenged by question # 6, which will be a measuring stick used when decisions need to be made as it relates to the people in our lives. I highly recommend this book to anyone who would like to improve how they lead themselves and chart a different life course by making sound personal decisions.

This book is brilliant and insightful and well-written and practical and absolutely awful. It is personally challenging and forces you to consider how you are making your choices. And, in my case, thinking about that, was absolutely horrible. The problem is that once you have read the book you can't unknow the stuff you learn. And once you understand that there are five questions that really will help you make better decisions you have two choices. Accept the challenge and ask the questions and make better decisions, even if they are not the easy ones. Or, take the easy road, don’t ask the questions and admit to yourself that you are actually pursuing regret, because you don’t want to do the work. That is really, really helpful and useful and needed and tough and horrible.

Just the first question “Am I being honest with myself...really?” brought me so much insight to the dumb decisions I have made. And to be honest with you (and myself) it actually helped me make a better decision in the last 24 hours.

I would highly recommend this book, but be warned. Because once you know the questions you will have to consider them, and you may not like the consequences.

Thus book is phenomenally helpful. I’ve benefitted from the great questions Andy asks in it, and I will continue to revisit it at crucial decision points in my life. I highly recommend this book.

Andy Stanley does not disappoint with his latest release, Better Decisions, Fewer Regrets. If you've listened to much of Andy's content, you will be familiar with these 5 Questions. With his usual approach to unpacking content in an easy-to-understand, attainable regardless of your age or stage of life, Andy's book would make a great gift for just about anyone: college graduate, newlywed, new parents, and well everyone else. My favorite two questions (and one's I lean into the most) are "What is the wise thing to do?" and "What does love require of me?"

I often find myself not wanting to ask "What does love require of me?" But, when I do ask it and answer it honestly, I'm always glad I did. I highly recommend this book!

Truth can be hard to hear. Personal responsibility can be hard to accept. Yet Andy Stanley makes both issues approachable. Doable. The questions he presents to readers, while not uncommon, create a combination that challenges us to not only think about our answers but to apply them. Better yet, Andy points his readers back to the source of his wisdom -- Christ.

Do you want to take better decisions?
Communicator, author, pastor, and founder of the North Point Ministries Andy Stanley states in his book "Better Decisions, Fewer Regrets. 5 Questions to Help You Determine Your Next Move", published by Zondervan Reflective that "good questions lead to better decisions. And better decisions lead to fewer regrets" (p. 2). His purpose of the book is to give readers the five questions ahead of time that he is convinced will result in better decisions and fewer regrets (p.5). The five questions that he provides are: 1) The Integrity Question: Am I being honest with myself . . . really?, 2) The Legacy Question: What story do I want to tell?, 3) The Conscience Question: Is there a tension that deserves my attention?, 4) The Maturity Question: What is the wise thing to do? and, 5) The Relationship Question: What does love require of me?" (p.6). Stanley underlines the fact that our decisions are important: "We never know what or who hangs in the balance of the decisions we make. But what we do know is this: Private decisions have public outcomes. Your private decisions probably won’t stay private. Your personal decisions will impact some other persons... These five questions, when asked consistently, will ensure your fingerprints on the future will be worth celebrating." (p.17).
Although I own another book by Andy Stanley (The Principle of the Path), this is actually the first book which I read and I am pleasantly surprised. I appreciated his approach, built on the Bible and on his personal experiences, I also appreciate that he does not only offer the questions but also leads readers to what the resulting decisions ought to be. I am challenged by the questions, especially by the fifth one (What does love require of me?) and I highly recommend this book to those who are also willing to be challenged by Stanley's questions and by the Bible.

A Crescendo
I loved how this book built to such a crescendo; it inspired me to better thinking. I read a chapter each day to give each question time to really sink into my soul. I found myself wanting to post a tweet or message that Chapter X , or question X was the best. Full of personal scenarios and biblical insights, the book challenged me to think about past and future decisions in a way I wouldn’t have before reading this book.

Andy’s good stories, that I could tie to moments in my life (growing up, raising kids, working with others in church and vocationally), gave me confidence to face the future decisions in my life Better. The questions and stories in the book are easy to share with others in all facets of life.

Ultimately the final question is the best and most comprehensive. Andy reminds us that serving and loving others the way Jesus did is a high calling we are all worthy of, and is relevant for these divisive times. If we could all just live by that question day by day, we wouldn’t need all the other ones and our world would be a better place. Read this book, take time to let each chapter connect to your story and have its full effect. Make the decision to read this book; you won’t regret a minute spent doing so.
