This is a middle grade Adventure book. I found this book ok, but I did not see the point of this book. The audiobook was ok, but not great. I was kindly provided an e-audiobook of this book by the publisher (HarperCollins) or author (Jonathan Messinger) via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review about how I feel about this book, and I want to send a big Thank you to them for that.

Eight-year-old Finn Caspian is apart of Explorer Troop 301 and they accidentally get stuck on a planet that is about to explode. The troop, with the help of Finn's robot Foggy, has to try to save the planet from exploding because of the actions of an evil bunny. However, working together is going to be a lot harder on this planet, when its leader is able to control people's minds! I thought that this was a fun adventure with a lot of humor that will have children laughing. As an adult, I thought that it was highly unlikely that parents would let their children go to new planets without adult supervision, but children will likely love this freedom from parents. The narrator of the story also had extreme variations with their narration. At times the narration was very exciting and engaging, but then at other times, it was bordering on monotone. I am unsure of how to reconcile this into a coherent critic because there were such differences in the tone. However, despite this difference throughout the audiobook, I would recommend the audiobook to young readers who are interested in space, adventures, and children working together to outwit silly aliens.

Finn, along with his robot and friends, help save an exploding planet from a talking bunny and a mind controlling alien. Emerging readers would enjoy this funny, adventurous book.

This book is bound to be an exciting read for my elementary school students, 2nd grade and above. How could they not be intrigued to hear about the adventures of the first child born in space? Finn has good friends who are all members of an Explorer Troop who find themselves on a planet about to explode. That, alone, would propel them to read on to find out what is going to happen.
They encounter aliens which is always a scene-stealer and an evil bunny which only will enhance that interest and what young reader can resist mind control? Above all, the relationships between the friends take different paths and encounter great conflicts. Yet, the message of togetherness ultimately rings loud an clear.
The narrator is great and the excitement keeps building and building. Readers will eagerly be awaiting the next adventure in this series!
