This is a wonderful book for anyone who needs a bedtime story book for their children. Each story in this book is a long one that shows a story and ends with a scripture. Each story is different from the next. This would be a good book to be read to your child.

Ugh! I don't like giving low reviews and especially on a book such as this. However, it was very difficult to read and stay engaged. It is compilations of stories and prayers answered. Memaw follows after God and is a prayer warrior. She has told these stories to her grandchildren about the power of God in people's lives. One story that did stick with me was the story of 2 sons. Both so different and both took different paths. The stories reflect personal responsibility which I am big fan of.

I think for me that the stories were too long and should be condensed. If this is geared towards children, it needs to be simplified with words and given more illustrations. I wish the best for this author and I hope she gets the help she needs to edit her stories. She does have a treasure!

A Special thank you to Carpenter's Son Publishing and Nettgalley for the ARC and the opportunity to post an honest review

Some of my best memories as a child were my parents and grandparents telling me stories. JoAnn brings those joyful moments back to life with “It’s Story time, Memaw!” Whether used as one-on-one devotionals, read aloud with a class, or assigned to kickstart meaningful conversations for creative writing, these stories will be used by God to speak to the listening hearts of children everywhere.

This is an extraordinary book. JoAnn Vicknair has created a delightful book of stories that parents, grandparents children, and really anyone who has someone they care about can enjoy. The stories are easy to read with a good moral in it. She's got a great eye for detail, and it makes you want to share this gift with others. The stories feel so alive and authentic. It makes me wish she were my MeMaw. I would recommend this to readers of all levels. Personally, I am an adult education instructor, and I would to share this with people who need clear examples of writing and vocabulary use. It's got clarity and wit. I highly recommend it, and her faith and determination are inspiring.

These are the types of stories our children and grandchildren need to hear. The author skillfully entwines scripture into real life situations that many children may experience in their lives. Mrs. Vicknair has definitely followed God’s leading in compiling these stories.

Tell Me A Story MeMaw is a beautifully written book of short stories written to teach christian values to children. Joann combines imaginative elements in her story telling style that' holds the readers and listeners interest. These stories are well supported by biblical principles. She makes the reader aware when she uses imaginative elements to enhance the story, making this book an awesome combination for learning and fun and exciting reading. What a great resource for children as they enjoy story times, and what it means to be a child of God. Beverly Mitter, Retired teacher- librarian and grandmother

I received an electronic ARC from Carpenter's Son Publishing through NetGalley.
This collection of stories is exactly as described by the author - stories she told her grandchildren over the years. She compiled and published them for others to read. Many of the stories are about family members in several generations. They come up to the present time dealing with Covid but are generic enough they could be any time of serious illness. Some are charming and others don't work well for those beyond the original audience. They will all serve as discussion starting points for Christian families.

This book is a collection of fiction and nonfiction stories, many that are based on the author’s personal experiences. As I read this book, I was amazed at how each story could influence a child’s spiritual and moral beliefs. I found myself so interested in the stories that I almost forgot that they were written for children. The author’s love for her own grandchildren has obviously influenced the writing and sharing of this inspirational book. I highly recommend this book, not only for children, but for anyone who reads it and benefits from its Biblical teachings.

Who doesn't love hearing stories from their grandparents? This is such a great book filled with memories & to be honest it makes me want to start keeping record of our memories with my parents & husbands mom to keep their stories for our kids. You'll laugh & you'll just have your heart filled while reading this one. I do wish there were more illustrations but its ok.

In modern parables this book tells the stories of Jesus in digestible ways for children. However, this book could use a good edit and a better eye for a design and illustration. I feels like a first draft. It is low budget and it shows. I cannot recommend.
