This was a really interesting look at how we conceive of property, written in a way that would be interesting for an academic but still accessible for a lay reader.

If you love freakonomics the way I did -- you absolutely love this book!! There are six separate stories and each of one of them is mind blowing. You will never be able to look around your life and not see how your ownership of things tangible and untangible exist!! I know they will be writing another book soon and I can't wait.

This is a phenomenal book that caught me by surprise. The idea of ownership and what is "Mine!" intrigued me but I did not realize how blurry those lines were and how vast an issue ownership actually is. The authors Michael Heller and Jim Salzman really break down these issues in a fun, informative and infuriating way throughout the book. The book covers issues of ownership that at first seem ambiguous, such as your knee space on an airplane and your place in line, it then slowly but surely works its way closer to personal issues. Your intellectual property, the water in your well, your land and even your DNA are not yours as much as you would like to think they are. I recommend this book to all, there is something in this book for everyone and at one point in time we have all dealt with some of the issues contained within.
