I enjoyed learning about the deaf community, but the main character bothered me by withholding so much information from the police. I thought it was a smart police procedural overall with a great setting.

I have not read the first Paige Northwood book in the series but this one still did well not reading the first beforehand. This book incorporates students from a school for the deaf which I think was represented the deaf community well and gave the story an interesting twist you don't read about often. This book has two merging paths a dead teacher and a missing deaf student!! Who killed Steve and why?? Where did Leon go??I enjoyed this book with the twists and turns and how being deaf was incorporated into the plot itself. This is a fast paced intense read that has good elements and character development! I did figure out a little earlier on than I thought I would how it would end, but overall still a great read! This is the second book in the Paige Northwood series, a BSL interpreter who works closely with the police on different occasions. This particular story takes Paige to the School of the Deaf where an overnight trip to a snowy cabin with 5 students ends in one student missing and one teacher dead. Is the missing student responsible for the teachers death? After all, he has a very troubled past. Or is it someone closer to the school? This book started a bit slow but the writing was good and developed each character well enough that I don’t think I could pinpoint anyone as the culprit! And I LOVE that in a book. I don’t think you have to read the first in this series to enjoy this book but I would definitely recommend you do! Solid mystery and great characters in this one! Can’t wait for the next in this series!

This is well-written, the story line is well-crafted and the characters are deftly drawn. The author shines a spotlight on the deaf community with the advent of a deaf female protagonist. Suspenseful from the get-go, there are twists to follow that lead to an unexpected conclusion. Although 2nd in the series, this is easily read as a stand alone, but I highly recommend reading these books in order, as the lead character has an interesting backstory.

This book had me hooked from the beginning. Well written mystery with a great amount of characters and mystery. It had me guessing til the end. This was my first book by this author but not my last. Thanks to NetGalley for the privilege to read and review this book.

The second in this mystery series with Paige Northwood returning to work with the police department as a principal of a deaf student is found dead on a trip with some of the students and staff and one of those students has gone missing. While the mystery is contained within these pages, there is character development from book to book with Paige and some of the recurring cast where it is worth it to start at the beginning.

First, I love how Paige is connected to the police department, so she gets great access, but she isn't a professional detective. And just like in the first book, the author writes the story so well, so the reader is aware what is being said in sign language and how having deaf characters and sign language make this book so unique and enjoyable.

This plot went up and down and there were a few moments where I would maybe have made some cuts to make the story move a little faster, but in the end I was satisfied with the villain and loved the journey to the conclusion.

Since this is the 2nd book in the series, I have to say that I liked learning more about Paige in this book.
This was a well written mystery/thriller.

I loved this book just as much as I did the first book featuring Paige Northwood. Being deaf it is always hard to find a character that is deaf or uses sign without them being a stereotype. I so enjoy reading these books, seeing a peraon who doesn't let deafness mean someone is less. I will read every book in this series

Edge of your seat thriller with plenty of twists and turns! Highly recommend this fast paced read!

This was a fast moving mystery. It takes place in a special school for deaf children. Had many characters, some very devious. Involves Paige, a sign interpreter and her abusive ex-boyfriend. I felt it had too much description at times, and not enough vacation. Paige’s romantic interests were not solved by the end of the book.

This is the second Paige Northwood mystery and I liked it more than the first one. What I love best about these books is the look into the deaf community as it’s a unique twist we don’t see a lot of. Paige is called to another police case, this one involving a missing student and a murdered staff member from a school for the deaf. She tries to not involve herself in solving this case and is distracted by an unwelcome blast from the past, her abusive ex-boyfriend Mike works at the school. The mystery is not bad and it was nice to get more information about Paige’s past.

Oh goodness I didn’t see any of this coming y’all!!! This book had me on edge and I had to stop myself from falling off of my chair a few times.

Five teenagers go on a trip with their head teacher, their social worker and an employee from their school, in the middle of a damn STORM. Anyway, the head teacher ends up dead and a student is missing. These kids are Deaf children, and this is Paige’s speciality, she is a Sign language interpreter. Paige gets very involved, and the search for Leon is a wild one, especially with the bond between the other kids, and the secrets that they keep.

These group of kids I felt so sorry for, they all live in a school that’s also their home, some are orphaned or just left by their families, these kids had it bad, and to be dealing with this as well? A missing friend, dead teacher, and possibly being manipulated by someone they should be trusting!!!

I wish I had read the first book, mainly because of Paige’s relationship with her sister Anna, she was a very annoying character, and erratic at times, I know she suffered something in the first book, but I couldn’t connect with her, it felt like Paige was her mother and babying her, especially when it came to her relationship with her boyfriend Max. And lets not forget that someone from Paige’s past comes back into her life which is so darn creepy!!! Omg!

Ok, I know my review is all voter the place, but this is how this book made me feel, I don’t even know where to begin, it was so much going on, speedy read, I really liked it. Thanks Netgalley and the publishers for giving me the opportunity to read this book

After reading Nell Pattisons, The Silent House, I jumped at the opportunity to read the follow up book. I loved Paige's character in the first book and wanted to see what she was getting into next.
Though I enjoyed watching Paige in another investigation, I had a hard time with her connection to this case. I felt she should have walked away from it immediately when she realized she knew a suspect. She put herself in an uncomfortable situation that went badly.
I did enjoy the book, but I felt it wasn't as thrilling as the first book and was very repetitive. I could have done without the extra boyfriend drama that kept popping up. Less drama more death!
There is a third Paige Northwood already in the works. I know I'll read it when it comes out, cause I need to know what she's doing next.

I enjoyed this book. It is well written and an interesting read. I read the first one before I realized it was going to be a series and was so happy to be selected to read this one, because I really enjoyed the first one too. I like how the author builds the characters and their stories. The couple of negative items is that the story line gets a little slow in the middle and there are a lot of characters to follow. I really like how the author writes a chapter every so often that takes you back in time and gradually leads up to what happens, giving you a little more detail each time to solve the case. I thought I had this one solved but was totally wrong. There was a big turn at the end. The first book didn't end with much of a cliff hanger but this one left with a little bit and now I'm excited to read the third one when it becomes available. I loved Silent Night. I especially enjoyed how much I learned about the deaf community in this book. I’ve always been fascinated by the deaf community, and Silent Night was an entertaining way to learn more.

Silent Night is told from Paige’s perspective. This was very interesting because she is an outsider to the situation. She doesn’t know any of the characters besides one person from her past. She is not part of the investigation, but is there to interpret when needed. There are some parts from one of the student’s perspective. This was interesting because it wasn’t until near the end of the book where I figured out which student it was.

There was so much suspense in Silent Night. This is your typical thriller with great character development. I felt like all the characters actions made sense and really fit with their personalities. Silent Night takes you through the suspense of figuring out what happened to Leon and the drama of Paige’s life.

I highly recommend Silent Night to thriller fans especially if you want to read a novel about the deaf community.

This is the second book in the series and I must admit I have not read the first one. I think I felt a little left out on some features, so I recommend going back to read the first. I love that this is focused around the deaf community as it adds intrigue to the mystery. I am not apart of the dead community nor do I know anyone who is so I cannot attest to how it fits with #ownvoices
