Nathalie and Marie are typical teens with outsized imaginations and a wonderful friendship. Games of "What if we were.." are interspersed with pages where we get to know more about the each of them. Each girl gets her own, fully-developed personality and along the way there are some learning moments (such as what the Vikings really looked like.) There's also a touch of romance between Nathalie and her crush, Jane Doe.
Good premise, cute book. Probably better to read in paper format.

An odd start eventually gave way to a hilarious look at friendships and relationships.

I very nearly gave up on this book. Not that it was bad, I simply was not into the story (or what appeared to be a lack of story). The choppy, episodic beginnings seemed utterly random, but the characters still had so much charm. And those illustrations-spectacular!

Ultimately, I am very glad that I kept going with this quirky book because it was actually quite refreshing to read about Nathalie and Marie's friendship. It was also a breathe of fresh air to read about a GLBT+ character that isn't simply living a nightmare scenario of unacceptance. So nice to see some good examples of parents who love the children. Yes, I know that teens need books that show those struggles, but it is nice to see them in books just being teens and dealing with issues just as any other teen would (ugh! parents are so embarrassing).

While a short comic, this story started out slow. I kept saying to myself.. they keep playing this game (what if..) but is there going to be a plot to the story? There is. It's cute, and I ended up really enjoying the characters. I'll definitely read more in the series.

I adored this book. It perfectly captures that feeling of friendship, adolescence, and first love. The art shifts during the ‘what if’ sequences were some of the best bits. I’ll be recommending it to many booksellers who specialise in YA and looking to get it into school libraries as well. I can see it appealing to readers who are already into comics, art, and music.

Adorable Young Adult Graphic Novel! This whimsical book was a lot of fun to read, and will make a great addition to the library's YA collection.

This was a fun, cute read. The art was great, and all of their outfits throughout were fabulous. I love the LGBTQ+ rep. Fun, imaginative tale, and I would like to read more to see where their adventures and imaginations lead next. Also, was I the only one who was sure it’d end with, “What if we were dating?”

I did not finish this one. The premise felt more suited toward younger characters, and I didn't like the structure of the GN, how each "what if" was like a little short story. I also wish the friendship between the two characters was developed a bit more before diving into the "what if" game.

Unusual idea but works really well, I'm pleased there was an underlying storyline otherwise I don't think I'd have connected to the characters too much. I love Marie and Nathalie's contrasting personalities and their friendship... Really cute, fun and great illustrations. I'm looking forward to the next installment and can't wait to see where their imaginations take them next!

Thank you Netgalley and USE Publishing for providing me with a digital copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

A cute romance, a cute friendship, and a cute premise. All around just cute. I want to now play this game with my friends, although I'll be disappointed bc we won't morph like a cartoon character.
