A sweet historical romance that will steal your heart almost as quickly as the MCs fall for each other. I loved Angelica - she's smart, talented, and determined despite all the cards stacked against her. Jonathan was a fun character, and not quite what I expected, but in a good way. The story itself is sweet and heartwarming, and will have you smiling. This book is perfect for anyone who enjoys clean historical romances.

I love this series and this is another great addition to it. Jonathan and Angelica are a sweet couple and I really enjoyed their dynamic. A sweet, festive read. Can't wait to continue with the series.

LOVED!!! I adored Angelica's story. It was refreshing, informative and beautiful. Johnathan was her opposite in so many ways, yet they were perfect for each other. From the moment they met, I just knew it would be a beautiful story. Thank you for the wonderful book!

When trust fund kid Jonathan MacLean walks into Angelica Parker’s jewelers’ shop, something happens to him. As an avid traveler who never visits a town twice, he starts rethinking his life choices.
Angelica fights for her deserved right as an accomplished artist in a time when being a woman AND black forces her to be not only as good, but better than any of her male white colleagues. She has no time for a personal life beyond her professional dreams, so Jonathan showing up and occupying more and more of her thoughts – is not a good thing. Or is it?

Erica Ridley is one of my go-to authors when it comes to historic regency. This novella set in the 12 Dukes for Christmas series features another strong heroine with a devoted hero in the cheery holiday town of Cressmouth aka Christmas.

I'm over the moon because of this book, it literally left me with this stupid dreamy smile on my face after i finished it.
You would think after all the historical romance I've read there would be no characters that could affect me, God, how wrong I had been.
.
The main couple is one of the best I've read, both of them had so many layers to their personalities, they were just so real and relatable, the heroine, Angelica, is such loveable strong independent woman, i really love it when i read a story where the main female has got her life planned and has priorities and most importantly, for her to be open to the changes that happen to her life and knows how to deal with them.
The hero, Jonathan, was a babe, he had this masculine, kindhearted, sweet natured aura that i fell in love with.
Their communication was really good and open, it was kind of refreshing to read.
.
The storyline is one whose power lies in the simplicity of it, a jeweler who has her life planned and a wanderer who doesn't like to stay in one place, they meet and the sparks go flying everywhere, see? Simple, but with a lot of juicy details to keep you hooked.

this is the first time reading a historical romance fic where the heroine was part of a minority. I really enjoyed reading this, Erica Ridley does not disappoint!!

I rate 4.5 I'm taking off .5 because I felt they fell in love a bit too fast.

So loved this. Mixed couple romance. Scottish male and black woman find love in Cressmouth. Jonathan's backstory is heartbreaking. Angelica is a tenaciously bold woman who struck out on her own to make a name for herself as has Jonathon. Both are seeking to prove their worth in the world for different reasons.

I liked that Erica gives resources for more study of blacks in Europe during that period. A jeweler and a traveling salesman\businessman. I found it a bit strange that there wasn't any pushback from Angelica's family or the townspeople about the mixed race relationship.

I always read Erica Ridley when her books come out and review them on other platforms. I always forget to review on here. The 12 Dukes of Christmas is by far my Favorite series by Erica Ridley but my Favorite series in Historical Romance!

This series is such fun, and even thought this book seemed to have a more serious tone, I still thoroughly enjoyed it x

I've read hundreds of historical romances novels and this is the first I've read with the heroine being a minority, which is rare in this particular genre. I wasn't sure what to expect but, I loved this! An author not afraid to do something daring and different and it paid off in this book. Erica Ridley has definitely set the bar and I hope many authors take this road because it is full of different aspects not normally looked at. The characters were well developed and relatable, the plot was perfectly planned out and the pace kept up the entire book. Erica Ridley has written a jewel and I can't wait to read more from her. I highly recommend this book!!!

I enjoyed this book but found it a little too predictable. The characters, writing and plot are good but you know what is coming which was a little disappointing. All in all a good read. & a good addition to this series

Really enjoyed this holiday historical! Loved that we have a Black heroine and a hero who was head over heels for her. I wish there had been more time to develop the relationship instead of relying on instalove.

This one was just not for me. I really hoped to like this one as it features a heroine of color which is very rare for this genre.

But I was just bored with this book.. to the point where I skimmed the middle portion just to get to the juicy parts. The hero seemed to be the typical rich guy who comes to a small village and ends up staying longer than he would have planned. And the romance between them just didn’t have that extra spark for me.

I’d say that if you like Hallmark, cozy holiday stories, this one may be more enjoyable for you. For me, it just felt bland. I gave this one 2 out of 5 stars.

I enjoy Erica's books so much. This one was a little different. Not so spicy but full of adventure and laughter. I especially like how Angelica took her talent and made a lifestyle that suited her when family didn't believe in her. I guess the only downside is I wish it were longer. Great read

A fun, quick Christmas read! I liked the strong female character, and laughed out loud at times. My only complaint was that I wished it was longer.

The tenth installment of the 12 Dukes of Christmas series brings us the story of Jonathan and Angelica. Jonathan is an adventurer. A charming and intelligent man who never settles in one place and is always trying to outrun his past. Angelica is an independent and strong woman who has worked hard all her life. She is not the typical Regency heroine you tend to read about.
She is written as a black character, which I absolutely loved, and she was a very well-developed character who I fell in love with instantly. Her perseverance to make a good life for herself and manage a business successfully as a jeweler was great to see. It is at her shop that her and Jonathan meet while he is on his way to meet with a Duke in hopes of securing him as a business investor. As outgoing as Jonathan's character is, he can't stand Christmas, and Angelica's little town loves it. He is forced to take it all in when a blizzard hits and he gets stuck there for awhile. The romance that develops between the two is sweet and easy to get swept into. Jonathan's Scrooge-like attitude also brought some humor to the story. It was great read and a wonderful addition to the series. Can't wait to read the next one!

I was given a free copy via Netgalley and am voluntarily leaving my review.

Even though it’s past Christmas- I love Christmas books. Ericas 12 Dukes of Christmas was so fun and sweet. Loved Jonathan and Angelica. We got a biracial couple as well! Only downside was this was more of a novella than full length story. I wanted more.
