Charming counting book for younger readers. The family sets out on Oscar's first moose hunt. They see all sorts of items in nature and begin the countdown with ten pinecones and count down to 1... car. Sadly, they did not find a moose though they saw so many other things. Just as they are leaving, a moose appears and they get the photo they were after.
I like that readers will have to do some concentrating to count the items on each page spread. They have to study the illustrations and focus on the details to play along.

Love the not so hidden numbers in the story. Very interactive for children and a fun plot line to look for the moose.

This book about Oscar's first moose hunt is adorable! Its rhyming prose and sweetly detailed illustrations captured my kids' attention. We loved the story and pictures so much, and would love to get a print copy of this book when it is available because it was so cute. The details in the story take the reader on a little nature adventure, and encourage kids to get out for their own hunts! The book also features a countdown incorporated into the story, great for reiterating numbers and subtracting one for each thing Oscar finds on his hunt.

Oscar's first Moose hunt is a fun family hike while counting all the creatures they meet. Will Oscar see his first Moose? The artwork is beautiful and this story is a fun way to count with little ones. Such a cute little adventure.
Great for story for the young but even the adults can enjoy this one while reading it aloud for the kids.

Find a Moose With Me is a charming little counting book. Little Oscar goes out moose spotting with his parents and counts some critters on the way. The illustrations are cute and the story is nature friendly. They may or may not find the moose.

My favourite thing about the book was the numbers that were more or less hidden in the pictures. My least favourite thing were the four branches in the breeze because it looked like those trees had many more branches than that.

As a child I used to find maps in the front of story books sparked my imagination so I was pleased to see one in this book. The illustrations are delightful as is the rhyme and counting opportunities. Beautiful book. A firm 5/5 stars from me. This is a joyous read about a family bringing a little boy on his first moose hunt. The rhymes are cheerful and sweet, and the illustrations likewise. I could see this being a child’s favorite very easily, it has that classic timeless quality.

Find a Moose with Me! is a cute counting book that I think would be great for children under 5. This book includes rhymes, a nice and quick storyline, counting, and lovely illustrations. I really loved how the illustrations included the number that page was dedicated to somewhere blended into the picture, you could have children find the number while reading and they can also count the objects that the book is talking about on the particular page.

Find a Moose with Me by Suzanne Buzby Hersey is such a sweet book about a little boy's first trip to spot a moose with his family. I really enjoyed this book with both my 8 month old and my 3 year old and felt like it had something for both of them. As the little boy, Oscar, goes along, he sees a certain number of animals or objects on each page. My 3 year old loved searching out the hidden numbers and counting the animals and surroundings for the corresponding numbers. Such a cute combination that I haven't seen in a children's fiction book before. The prose of the story was enjoyable and attention keeping for young ones children, like my 8 month old. One of the parts that I liked best was the little twist ending that kept me and my 3 year old on our toes! We will definitely read this again.

Very cute little book! Read it to my 1 year old who liked the rhymes. It would be great when he’s older to help with counting, but for now it helps a lot to broaden his vocabulary while hearing words he wouldn’t normally hear in day to day conversation or in some of the other children’s books he has. He did really like the turtle illustrations best! He wasn’t sure what to make of the moose since he’s never seen one and called it a kitty cat. Close enough.

Find a Moose with Me is such a charming counting book. With cute illustration depicting the furry friends of the forest, this book will surely please the little ones in your life.

Rated it five stars. I loved everything about it -- the rhymes, the illustrations, and the storyline of hunting for a moose. I will certainly add it to my gift list for the grandkids.

Cute adventure story. Loved the visualization and the onomatopoeia and descriptive words. The counting and numbers incorporated into the illustrations was fun and interactive. Introduction to various forest animals was a treat. The illustrations were attractive and just right, not too busy, and the soft colors were appealing. I have a son who loves and collects moose and he loves this book. I think this book will be circulated often in the library as I have had requests for books with visualization lately. Great as a read-aloud for story-time too! I think this book would appeal to toddlers up to age 7. I received this book from NetGalley and was attracted by the title and pleasing cover.

Amazing! My three year old twins loved this book. It is engaging, fun, and helps them with their learning. I can’t wait to buy a paper copy. They have already read it twice and I can easily see it becoming a favorite.

Our young readers loved the plot as well and were anxiously turning pages to see if Oscar would find the moose. Educational, entertaining and engaging, "Find a Moose with Me!" is the quintessential children's book that belongs on every young reader's shelf!

I loved this book. I have a 2 yr old grandson who loves the outdoors and is adventurous. He would thoroughly enjoy this. I love how it ties in the counting of things that Oscar sees. Very cute book.

Gorgeous, calming illustrations with a cute background story integrating numbers into the adventure. Definitely buying a copy of this for my niece!

Such a fun little adventure books that will make you want to grab your jackets & head out for your own nature hike! I loved how there were hidden numbers throughout the book & that it encourages a fun nature walk with your little explorers. The writing was easy & had a nice flow to it, the illustrations were nice & simple & not overly busy. Overall a great children's book that combines math & the great outdoors.

We love moose! So this was a given. Had my littlest counting along asked when the moose was coming. The pictures are simple and cute. The writing flows.
