I received this free eARC novel from NetGalley. This is my honest review.

This was a good story. I love how determined and fierce Katya is. I also love how she gets sucked into gaming and how amazing she is at her job.

Lucas is surly and is always focused on his career. I'm glad Katya was able to get him to live a little, but for most of the novel he was controlled by his fears. I got frustrated with Lucas quite a bit.

I'm glad I finally got around to reading this book! It was a great storyline and I was glad to see both characters grow more confident by the end of the book.

A passionate, steamy read that kept me reading late in to the night,
This is the first book I have read by this Breanna Aubrey and I can quite safely say that it will not be the last!.
The characters are wonderful and well detailed, each bringing their own drama's to this story, and I found myself really rooting for them throughout,
A fun, thrilling, sexy read.

Unrequited love meets its master, Brenna Aubrey. This was a good story, though it took me a bit to get going, never fully picking me up. But I think that was just because of how I felt at the time. I always love her writing, though it takes me a while to be fully immersed, so this felt par for the course. Definitely one to try.

I read Brenna Aubreys very first book in this "series" (even though this is a spin off). I have NOOO idea why I didn't continue reading the series.. I am dumb.

This is a cute enemies to lovers trope

What do you do when you hate your coworker, you have no friends and you are about to be kicked out of the country... this book is more than a marriage of convenience... you can actually feel the characters fall in love, fight and really you put yourself in the shoes of both of our main characters because for once BOTH members have issues that need to be resolved and its really well done!

This was an absolutely breathtaking, heartbreaking read for me! This wasn't my first experience reading this author's work, as I previously read High Risk and High Reward, but I've never read any of the Gaming the System books until this one and now I'm asking myself where I've been all this time!? OMG, this was such an emotional read for me -- it had everything I look for in a contemporary romance. And anyone who knows me knows I love the fake marriage genre and this was the best! Katya and Lucas were such likeable, relatable characters that it was easy to wish and hope for their HEA. Their journey is not an easy one, but so well worth it. Obviously, I have to read the other books in this series because I need to meet Adam and Mia and Jordan and April! This book had some thought-provoking moments that brought tears to my eyes and warmth to my heart. I loved it and can't wait to read more from this author. I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC for NetGalley.

Action packed, sexy, fun and emotionally thrilling journey filled with intriguing and engaging charters, witty dialog, heart racing twists and exciting passion. Really enjoyed this highly entertaining and edge of your seat adventure.

Written very well. It has all the ingredients I like but I never really warmed to the MC's. Can't pinpoint why, maybe it is because there was actually nothing special to the story.

But... there is always room for a hot story and it delivered on that. Tropes are: fake-marriage and a little enemies-to-lovers.

Excellent story! I couldn't put it down! Katya and Lucas work together and enter a marriage of convenience when Katya is threatened with being sent back to Canada. This story is funny, entertaining, emotional and ultra-steamy with plenty of slow burn sexual tension. I really liked that the author brought up some very real issues of today - immigration, substance abuse - in a realistic and compassionate manner. Finally, being Canadian, I appreciated the Canadian references -it's not often I come across books with Canadian characters. This is the first book I've read by Brenna Aubrey, and I look forward to reading more.

Warning: some scenes may be too sexy to read in public. Brenna Aubrey is the queen of unrequited sexual tension...and then she turns the heat up when she allows her couple to finally come together via her skillful, steamy, romantic, arousing writing.

I’m easy when it comes to the marriage-of-convenience trope. So when Canadian Katya Ellis must marry to stay in the United States and in the gamer quality assurance job she loves, she proposes a “you scratch my back, I’ll scratch your back” Green Card deal with cranky but incredible hot co-worker Lucas Walker. Soon they both get more than they bargained for as the secrets unravel in this next of the Gaming the System series. Aubrey brings her A-game with “For the Taking”—there’s so much delicious, irresistible tension in bringing these two unlikely lovers together for their own causes, only to fall in love, and find their happily ever after.

Tender, thoughtful moments in this quick paced love story that I think is as good as Aubrey’s book that started this series, “At Any Price.” Not to be missed.
