I really enjoyed reading this new book. The characters were very well written, each showing flaws and quirks that readers can connect with! The spark between Josh and Sara was immediate. They may not make sense on paper, but the chemistry is there. It was a quick read. I look forward to more books regarding the Bears hockey team.

I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley for my voluntary, honest review. All opinions are my own.

You Had Me at Hockey is the second in Kelly Jamieson's Bears Hockey series but stands well alone. Josh Heller's been traded and moves from Dallas to the far different city of New York. For someone who prefers the assurance of his routine and the comfort of a plan, the changes are a clear challenge, including getting to know his new team and how he fits in.

Sara Carrington knows all about not fitting in. In fact, she's kind of made a life for herself at being a bit of the odd fish out as an influencer/vlogger who specializes not in being perfectly made up or styled, but the opposite. Her viewers get Sara (Mostly) Unfiltered, and they love her for telling it and showing it like it is, from her kitchen fails to her sometimes struggles with depression.

Told in alternating first person perspective, You Had Me at Hockey is a warm and lovely contemporary, with Josh and Sara building slowly on their shared chemistry to create a relationship that works for them both, as they learn to be considerate of each other, and to care and be cared for. Ms Jamieson covers some pretty serious topics, graciously and deftly. Josh and Sara are beautifully imperfect, and are a reminder that love does provide motivation and heart to bridge those gaps when we so choose.

You Had Me at Hockey is a keeper!

Another great couple in The Bears Hockey series. Of course, I expect nothing less from Kelly Jamieson. This one gives us Josh and Sara, and these two are just too darn cute together. Don't get me wrong, they're sexy too, but they are simply adorable, corny poems and all. Josh is from Easton's emotional past, so this one certainly links heavily with the first book, but Jamieson gives us everything we need to follow the story, so this will work as a standalone. I'd still recommend starting with the first book because that one has a terrific couple as well. Sara and Josh seem so totally different, but they complement each other wonderfully. They are both genuinely good people and I love that they took the time to learn about each other's interests. I also love that there isn't a lot of angst between these two in the beginning - none of that second-guessing, I'm not ready kind of thing. The relationship happens kind of organically, and even when a secret is shared, they just go with it. There is a bit of trouble for the pair, but it's pretty easy to see it coming, which brings me to another thing I like about this one. The trouble is serious, but it's not the sole focus of the story and the characters are grown-ups and deal with it. All in all, another completely engaging romance by Kelly Jamieson, and one more reason that she's an auto read for me.

I love Kelly Jamieson's hockey books and this one is no exception! It was so nice meeting another Heller. This time we meet Josh Heller, the son/nephew of the men in the Heller Brothers series. Josh is a professional hockey player recently traded to NYC. He meets Sara, a vlogger and popular influencer, and they have immediate chemistry. I loved their banter and their opposite personalities. I loved that this book dealt with very real issues. I laughed and I cried and overall thought it was an excellent book. I can't wait for the next in this series!

I loved this story! This author has quickly become one that I look for and without a doubt know that I will enjoy reading the books she writes.
This book was no different from the rest...I not only love a good hockey book but I LOVE that the author has done her research and explains hockey rules accurately! These two...I really liked Josh in this book, he wasn’t a player like most heroes are and Sara was quirky and I absolutely loved that she was a YouTube content creator! There wasn’t a whole lot of drama and angst but what little there was in there was just the right amount for these two.

I look forward to reading more from this series!

I was pulled right into this story. The story has pain, laughs, naughty fun, and heartbreak.

If you have not read the below I would recommend reading those books(s) first
Must Love Dogs...and Hockey (Bears Hockey #1)

This is Sara and Josh’s story. Sara considers herself a little weird after all she has people following her in social media when she talks about random stuff. She does not hide who she is, and it makes people flock to her. Josh almost died when he was younger, and it made him more focused on his life and hockey. He does not party and is kind of considered a little but of a grouch. When Sara wants him on her vlog he agrees but they are both surprised at the chemistry that flares hot. Can they try a relationship or are they just way to different? Can they end up teaching each other different things or will they just walk away from the feelings they invoke in each other?

I felt I could connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

I recommend this book.

You Had Me at Hockey - Kelly Jamieson

I requested this book on Netgalley because it was a romance between an NHL player and an influencer and that just sounded so fun!

It was a lot of fun and I enjoyed reading from Sara’s POV as an influencer but also as wanting to be herself. The romance was cute but nothing special. However I was very surprised to learn that the main character Josh had been in a bus crash with his major junior hockey team where 14 people died. I knew immediately this was inspired by Humbolt which the author acknowledges at the end. The Humbolt Broncos crash absolutely tore my heart out and still makes me so sad to this about 😭

This was a fun read and I’d be interested in reading the previous book in this series as well!

Going into this book I knew a little bit about Josh Heller. Josh is a second generation hockey player, his father and his uncles have their own series Heller Brothers Series, but we learned about a devastating accident he was in as a teenager with his then teammate Easton in his book, Must Love Dogs...and Hockey, the first book in the series and I have to say this accident really shaped the way the men turned out.

Josh has now been traded from his Dallas team to the New York Bears where Easton plays, can these two past friends get back what they lost so long ago or will things remain stilted?

Sara is a vlogger and has a podcast, I instantly fell in love with her quirkiness and how real she was. There wasn't anything I didn't like about her, I especially loved the way she was open with Josh about her depression and virginity. For me Sara was a breath of fresh air.

Josh and Sara's story packs an emotional punch, and I loved every minute of it. The Chemistry was great and sparks flew as soon as they met, you have to listen to all the double entendres they used in her podcast, it was hysterical!

If you enjoy Sports Romance, Contemporary Romances, or are just looking for for a read that packs an emotional punch but will leave you smiling I would recommend this book to you.

Happy Reading!!!

Such a sweet and spicy story that should have the underlying motto of "teamwork makes the dream work!" I loved Josh and Sara together. She brought him back to life and he gave her acceptance and support. They just had an immediate beautiful connection that was fun, sweet, entertaining, and cute! Sara helped Josh break out of his fear of change, but was understanding of it. And he helped her realize she was not too much, too quirky or weird. They truly understood the other and nearly broke my heart when they hit troubles. But the making up was beyond swooning. I totally enjoyed the ups and downs Sara and Josh went through, the ribbing with the teammates, and the new friendships made. I could see each scene play out perfectly in my mind as I read. Beautiful!

I received this book in exchange for an honest review from the publisher through Netgalley.

What do you get when you put together a insta and YouTube influencer and a pro hockey player? The answer is chemistry and chaos. Josh's entire life had been upended again when he's traded to the New York Bears. To say that change throws him off is an understatement, he functions best on a tight stranglehold of plans. This quirk developed after a tragic accident left him fighting to heal and uncertain of his future, hence his need for a plan.
Sara is as real as it gets, she doesn't apologize for her honest behavior with her followers and people in her life. It's kept her from having lasting relationships with men as she's not everyone's cup of tea. Yet her chaos and spontaneity should be the last thing Josh needs when everything else is changing, but she becomes the balance that life needs. Can they find a way to meld their two worlds and finally put the past to rest?

I received a free copy of You Had Me At Hockey to read and review. This was a hot romance between to people with busy lives who are perfectly happy with their lives as is...until they met each other. One pushed meeting and lunch later and everything changes...they just keep wanting to speed time together. Sara is a quirky, honest, down to earth girl who posts videos to YouTube and does podcasts for a living. It’s her passion, her reason to get up everyday. She has never had time to worry about a relationship or even care she hasn’t ever had a long term boyfriend. Until he walks into the lobby for their podcast interview. Josh is a hot as sin, hockey player who’s been traded to a new team, in a new town where he doesn’t know anyone, except his ex best friend. His perfectly planned life has been thrown into chaos. The last thing he wants to do is do a podcast with some chick but he’s the new guy and his team coach says it’s needed, so he will suck it up and go. What he doesn’t expect is to actually enjoy it...and her. But he refuses to let some girl mess up his plans, there has been enough change for him. He likes how things are. He has hockey...he doesn’t need any distractions...but one date won’t hurt. Right? What could go wrong...? This story had me laughing, crying, swooning as well as hot...the passion and intimate connection...holy hot cupcakes...steamy.

I loved this book. You have sara, a vlogger and josh the hockey star with a deep past he’s trying to work through. Sara brings the fun and is a little quirky while josh is the structured and super focused almost tortured soul. They balance each other well and she helps him push through some old relationships that are still affecting him in his adulthood. Not to mention all the old characters from previous books we get to catch up on!! Can’t wait for the next one.

“I’m a mess, but I can be fun.”
“We’re all a mess, in some way.”

*Sigh* That’s the contented, happy sigh of a reader who’s just finished another awesome hockey book from Kelly Jamieson. Truly, she is one of my go-tos for hockey romance—and tequila romance, tbh—and it’s because her words and her characters make my heart so damn happy.

You Had Me At Hockey definitely made my heart happy. I loved Sara and Josh equally. She was quippy and funny and easily likable, while he was quiet and broken, yet still utterly swoonworthy. Their story is about challenging yourself, opening yourself up, being honest, and it’s without overwrought drama or too-heavy-for-these-heavy-times feels.

It was just so easy to read. I sank into it and let it take me away, soaking in the sexiness, the flirtiness, the heartache. And when I was finished, all I could think was how much I’d enjoyed my time with Sara and Josh, and how I wanted more Bears Hockey. Preferably soon. Life could use a few more happy sighs, ya know?

Fun, flirty and fantastic!! Nothing becomes a better romance than when two complete opposites come together and fall in love. Rigid and sometimes inflexible Josh falls head over heels for quirky and balls to the walls Sara. Can the hockey player and the influencer have enough besides spark to get their HEA? Totally swoon-worthy and a joy to read. Kelly Jamieson knows how to hook the reader in and refuse to let go. With adorable characters and a storyline that had me laughing out loud this was a great read!!

You Had Me at Hockey is the second book of the Bears Hockey series. I enjoyed the first book of the series, Must Love Dogs...and Hockey, and let me tell you, every day when I go to work and take the elevator to our company’s floor, it reminds me of the book because our elevators are Otis :) If you didn’t have a chance to read the book, probably this sentence sounds silly to you but if you are curious, grab a copy and figure out why :) At the end of the first book, we got the news about Josh Heller’s trade to New York Bears and since Josh and Easton have a history, I was looking forward to this book.

Josh Heller is the new defense player who recently got traded from Dallas. After the near-death accident when he was younger, Josh avoids being spontaneous and he needs everything to be planned. So being traded and shipped to New York right away doesn’t sit well with him. On top of all his routines getting disturbed, now he needs to be in the same team as his ex-best friend. There are also some interviews to attend as a new member of the team. One of these interviews is a podcast with a popular influencer, Sara Carrington. Sara is cute, a little bit crazy, and funny. One of the reasons for her popularity as a Vlogger is being real and always acting her normal self. I am not really into Vloggers or influencers but after reading about Sara, I know if I find a Vlogger like her, I will follow. She is so real and relatable. My only problem with her is she doubts herself too much and hard on herself. Other than these I loved her. Sara doesn’t follow any sports, so she had to do a bit of research before her podcast with Josh. From the moment they meet, they click. The podcast pasts in a blur, they are attracted to each other and banter is amazing. After the podcast, they decide to hang out since Josh is new in town and doesn’t know anyone. They had an unforgettable first date, it wasn’t the best one but definitely unforgettable. Even with all the baggage they have, they decide to take a chance on love. I loved how they balance each other. While Josh calms Sara down and pushes her to think before she acts, Sara tempts Josh to be a little spontaneous. Also, I loved while having fun and joking around, they also shared some really deep secrets. Sara was trying to help Josh to let go of the past, his resentment towards his friends, and his fears because of the accident. However, she wasn’t the person who helped him get past his baggage, Carter was. Josh and Carter’s relationship broke my heart and brought tears to my eyes. I am not going to get into too much detail but Carter is a super special guy.

You Had Me at Hockey is a cute, funny, inspiring, and emotional read that you will get lost between the pages. I really enjoy this series and cannot wait for the next one. Josh, Easton, and Hunter used to be a close-knit trio who got thrown in different directions after the accident. Now that we get to read about Easton and Josh, I am really curious about Hunter and what happened to him as well. I also want to thank Kelly Jamieson for making mention of mental health and depression. Nowadays, given the situation we are all in, I believe raising awareness about mental health issues is more important than before.

Ruthie – ☆☆☆☆
This is the second book in the series, and you would be aware of the coach crash and its impact on fellow hockey player Easton if you have read it. I would recommend that you do, as it takes a really interesting look at the differences in the experiences that the two men had, and the assumptions that they made. The hockey elements cleverly wound around this problem, and I really liked how it was used to give us insight into their issues and the impact on the game.

Josh is traded to New York – not an entirely unusual event for hockey players, but he does not do well with change or meeting new people. His fight back from the accident has shaped his life, and he needs to be able to control as much as he can. But move he must, and also face an ex-friend he hasn't seen since the accident. It makes for difficult reading as we see the two men uncertain of what pulled them apart and still hurting from such a life changing event, even years later.

As part of his social obligations, Josh has to record a podcast with Sara, a Vlogger with a good following. They have an unexpectedly fun session, and start to spend time together. This confuses Josh a lot, as Sara is not the cool, calm, and tidy type that is undemanding on his time. She is bright, fun, and messy. I enjoyed him learning more about what her life was about, and how she had no clue about hockey, but made the effort too. It was a great mix of sports romance and a look at the lifestyle of an influencer.

I thought that the romance progressed in a very believable way. I loved Sara's openness and honesty, and Luke's care and concern at making it good for her. They both struck gold when they met.

I really recommend this book – it was the perfect mix of very cute and extremely sexy. Thank you Kelly Jamieson – another fabulous read!

M/F Sports Romance
Triggers: Traumatic car accident, Depression

Josh likes to be able to plan his life. After suffering from a horrific bus accident and having to recover wondering if he would ever play hockey again, Josh knows that if he works hard, plans his life, and keeps his nose down, that he'll achieve his goals. When he is traded to a new team, he knows that it's part of the life, but he can't help but be a little upset too. He is not super excited about seeing his old teammate again, but knows that he'll have to move past the past to move forward.

Sara loves her life. She knows what she wants and goes for it. Despite her not finishing college, she has become incredibly successful in her own way. As an influencer, Sara knows that sometimes the world of social media can be unforgiving. Sara is also very aware of her own mental health and how that can affect how people see her and how she sees herself. When she is asked to interview Josh, an athlete she knows nothing about, she's pleasantly surprised with how easy their banter is.

Sara and Josh have a lot to show each other. They will learn to let go, live in the moment, plan for the future, and let someone else help them. Sara and Josh are a couple that seem to be misfit, but they make it work. They have funny banter, good chemistry, and it starts out as a friendship rather than an insta-love connection. I appreciated that their relationship was built instead of thrown in your face.

This is a sweet story with funny, light characters. While it wasn't a super-fast paced story and it had a lot of back and forth, which at times was a little frustrating, the story had a happy ending.

When newly traded hockey player Josh agrees to be interviewed on a podcast, he doesn’t expect a friendship to form with the host, Sara. Where he is a controlled planner and hates the unexpected, she is a free spirit and lives in the moment. Despite their differences he finds himself falling for her. He even manages his anxiety when plans seem to suddenly change whenever they are together. But when Sara does something secretly intrusive that throws Josh off, his cruel words end up damaging not only their relationship but Sara’s heart. Once he realizes that her intentions were in the best interest for him, can he find a way to get her to forgive him?

I’ve enjoyed this author’s other hockey books and this one does not disappoint! I love how Sara is quirky and doesn’t care much about how others think of her. She’s selfless in understanding Josh’s need of having things planned ahead of time and she takes that into consideration. This was a great read and I’m looking forward to the next one!

He’s uptight and she’s a free spirit!!!

Oh these two be still my heart. He’s a little bit lost a little bit broken. She is a free and little bit lost. Together they could become a whole lot of something wonderful.

This is the third book in this series but every book stands on its own. However seeing previous players and the women they love is always a good time.

I'm honored to have been introduced to this amazing authors books. The one thing about this book I enjoyed was it keeps you wondering what’s next.

We get taken on a odds are against them love story in the newest series from a great author. Two people who are protecting there hearts and those they love. Both are always putting others first and carrying the weight of the world on their shoulders just in very different ways.

Authors Blurb: Josh I am a warrior. That’s been my motto since I recovered from a near-death accident when I was younger. Now I enjoy my nice, settled life in Dallas playing pro hockey—a boring life is better than being dead. I’m not a party guy or an adventurer; I like my routine and peace and quiet. So being traded to New York is the worst possible change that could happen. And meeting unfiltered and fascinating Sara Carrington throws my life into even more chaos.

Sara I’ve been considered weird my whole life, which is why I’m still a virgin, but I’ve turned it into a career with my YouTube videos. Who knew people would love watching me talk about my zits, taste-test meatless burgers, and try to learn TikTok dances! Now I’m launching a podcast. Getting hockey star Josh Heller as a guest will help gain listeners for sure. I expect a bearded jock with no teeth and nothing to say, but I get a hot as H-E-double-hockey-sticks grouch with a surprisingly dirty mind. My mission to make him laugh is successful, but I want to know why he’s so uptight underneath that panty-dropping smile. Maybe I can teach Josh to have some fun . . . and maybe he can teach me a thing or two along the way. . . .

This book has everything I love in a book. Then you add that it's beautifully written and believable. It is easily a five star read. Written in dual POV my personal favorite this story flows so incredibly well that the next thing you know your 80% into the book and loving every second of it. The believable way the characters interact is perfect. Run, Hop, Jump or use your (1 click) finger to do whatever you have to do and get this amazing book. It'll break your heart, you'll want to scream with frustration and it'll let you discover that love just might conquer all. The chemistry is steamy and sweet and oh so romantic.

Thanks Netgally for letting me read and review.📚💕

I love every book that I have read by Ms. Jamieson and this book was no different. Josh and Sara were so great together, if they could only get out of their own way. He had some deep scars and trust issues that stemmed from a bus accident that changed the course of his life. He just didn't realize how much it changed his best friend's life as well. When he gets traded to the hockey team that has his ex best friend on it tensions are high. In fact, they both get talked to and are supposed to talk, which they struggle with.
Sara has been let down a lot due to medical issues she has and struggles with accepting Josh wanting to be in her life. They are adorable together and their first date doesn't go according to plan, but he doesn't leave her side, even though he is freaking out. As they get to know each other, they admit truths and open up their scars. When she tries to get him to talk to his teammate, things don't go as planned and things are said that can't easily be taken back. Whether they have a future together will be determined by having the courage to admit that they want to be together.
I absolutely adored Josh and was happy to see that he could see other points of view on the accident. I wish there would have been more in regards to that relationship and if they became friends again, but maybe we will see that in the next book. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest, voluntary review.

Hockey boy and Insta/YouTube find out during a podcast interview that they have a little something chemistry wise. Josh just got traded to NYC team and is having a hard time still with a bus accident. Sara is famous thanks to being real on her video and podcast - that she started because of her depression. This was friends to lovers plus opposites attract story. Their first date ends in a hospital visit and weeks away still leads to some great steam!
Josh is the perfect book boyfriend with Sara. He spews up but makes up for it! I really enjoyed this sports- hockey romance!

Overall, 4 stars and 4 steam
