Josh is a Pro Hockey Player who survived a bad accident as a teen that has made him cautious and rather serious about life. Sara is a Social Media influencer who has built her following based on being completely real and authentic; cooking disasters, zits, and all. She is up for anything and rarely plans things out. When these two meet for an interview the sparks fly and Sara makes it her mission to coax a smile out of this grumpy hockey player.

I LOVED these characters! They are so real and flawed and wonderful! Sara is completely authentic and is always up for a new experience, but we also come to realize that she gets her feelings hurt by online trolls and feels immense pressure to deliver for her audience. Author Kelly Jamieson perfectly captures the life of a inherently cheery person who also struggles with clinical depression. Sara spoke to me because I have that same seemingly incongruent situation. I am the most upbeat, enthusiastic, happy person you have ever met who also sometimes is gripped with depression that drags me into a hole of laying in bed, overanalyzing everything, and crying. These two sides are hard to reconcile and yet completely real and Jamieson wrote it with skill and heart.

Josh is also wonderfully complex. He is giving and selfless and sweet. But as his story unfolds we come to gain clarity on a major part of his life in which he has been unable to consider anyone outside of himself. We see how, in this instance, he is selfish and stubborn, but we also understand WHY and love him more for it.

I took a star off because Sara loses her virginity in this book and it could not be any LESS realistic. I....just....*sigh* If authors want to de-virgin a leading lady in their book I just want it to be remotely realistic. Not a three orgasm, zero discomfort, let's-have-sex-4-more-times-before-the-sun-rises, situation. Listen, there doesn't have to be bleeding and tears, but COME ON.

This is the 2nd book in the series, but is excellent as a standalone. I did read the first book (and I loved it), but you really don't have to and you won't feel lost.

TRIGGERS: fatal car accident, pediatric cancer, clinical depression, online bullying

I will be honest. I haven’t’ read the first book in this series before I read this one but I loved this book! The perfect winter hockey romance! I loved the two characters Sara, a social media influencer, and Josh a defensemen for the Bears hockey team. They meet while Sara is interviewing Josh for her podcast and sparks fly immediately. There is such good humor and innuendo right off the bat in this book! They build a friendship as they fall for each other and it was amazing. And the steam in this one! Seriously I am so happy I read this book. I read this entire book in the span of a day - its a quick read that devoured. I received this book through NetGalley and I have been in a NetGalley slump lately with not picking great ones but this was fun, entertaining and so enjoyable. I definitely need to read the first in this series and then some of the many other books Kelly Jamieson has written.

Really enjoyable second book in Jameson's Bears Hockey series. Because of what happened in his past, Josh insists on planning everything. Getting traded throws him off, but his life gets shaken up even more when he meets Sara. She's so spontaneous and unfiltered. When they meet to record a podcast together, there's instant chemistry. As they spend more time together, Sara helps Josh loosen up and have more fun, and he helps her focus and gain confidence. There are some serious moments in here, but overall it was a fun book. Although probably not necessary, I recommend reading the first book in the series to understand some background.

Wow. I mean wow. I have loved the Heller family since Kelly Jamieson introduced them years ago. I really connected with Sara and her personality. Josh was an amazing hero and I loved his story. The story was amazing and the plot line was great. I can’t wait for more!!!!!

I enjoyed this book. I felt there was a more solid plot than some of the other sports books. This one seemed more real-life and down to earth. I’m a sucker for the sports themed books. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an advanced copy.

Josh doesn’t like change, and is not too fond of being traded to New York. Just as he is getting used to a new city, and a new team he meets Sara, a vlogger with whom he has to record a podcast. They had such a fun session that they form a friendship with an underlying attraction.
Sara is funny, impulsive and a down to earth girl and brings out the unexpected in Josh. He loves his plans but with Sara, he is unable to say no to her impromptu change of plans. This was a cause of banter between them and along with their chemistry, I found it very entertaining and fun.
You had me at hockey is an easy to read, steamy romance. They both have some nuances that made them that much more endearing to me. This is the second book in the series and I hope the next one is about Hunter.

I am a fan of Kelly's books and a fan of hockey books (even though I never watch the sport).

In this book a quirky, one of a kind influencer with a podcast gets to interview the latest addition to the Bears hockey team. Josh wasn't happy about his transfer to New York because he likes his patterns and habits. The transfer also puts him on the same team as his former best friend, which of course leads to drama.

At the start of the book, I really wasn't sure that I liked Sara, she was just so...much. But after she interviewed Josh and they saw each other some more I did end of liking her.

If you liked Kelly's other books, you won't be disappointed in this one. If you haven't read anything by her, give this one a chance. It had me laughing out loud several times and made my husband ask me what I was reading.

This is a short and sweet romance that gives you all of the feels! While this is part 2 of a series, it is readable as a stand-alone! I am for sure going back and reading the first book in this series because this one was just so great! Sweet and Swoon-worthy all in one book. I absolutely loved this story. If you are looking for a quick romance I suggest you check this out!

Josh and Sara are just WOW. I loved their meeting, their romance, and just everything. This story was sexy, swoony, sweet, and romantic. Basically, everything you could possibly want in a romance book!

Kelly did it again..I really enjoyed this book, we have some real situations that some people may shy away from or make it unreal or too angsty and we didn't have that here. I liked Sara and I liked that she was real and that she had a mental problem and yet overcame it or more like dealt with it but knew that it could come at anytime, which is true today with many and it could break you or you deal with it. Sara also helped Josh deal with his problems and get him out of his comfort zone and those two together were just adorable and when sexy times came hottt!.. Enjoy!

I started reading this, liked it so much that I stopped and bought the first book in the series to read first. We met Easton in the first book and when Josh is traded to the same hockey team, they have to get over a shared tragic event to make them and their team more cohesive. Sara is an influencer and she interviews Josh, let’s just say instant sparks. This was a great meet cute story

5 Stars for this laugh-out-loud romance!

Sara is one of my favorite female characters ... she's just so quirky but has a heart of gold. She's a vlogger who is so realistic by not always looking perfect and even posts herself when things don't turn out the way they are supposed to. She had me laughing so hard that I was crying! I also loved that Josh is not an arrogant playboy. He takes his career in the NHL very seriously because he knows what it's like to lose it all. Plus, there is the emotional side because of the tragedy that Josh was in. And ... the steamy scenes ... they are very hot! I always love Ms. Jamieson's Canadian references. I live in Western Canada and I have been to all those places she talks about.

I received an early copy courtesy of Random House - Loveswept through NetGalley in exchange for a honest review.

Kelly Jamieson’s new hockey romance series adds another sweet and pleasant chapter to its fold with You Had Me at Hockey.

Josh – Hellsy - Heller gets the news dropped on him out of the blue; he’s being traded from the Dallas Stars to the New York Bears, replacing a recently-resigned member of the Bears’ team.  He struggles with the move - which clashes with his low-key, excitement-avoiding nature - and with his new environment, plus he has to deal with an old teammate, someone he he hasn’t spoken to since they were both involved with a bad accident as kids.  He’s booked on a new hot podcast to make himself visible to the Bears’ fans.  But doing the podcast brings a beautiful woman into his life, and things just might be changing for the better.

Sara Carrington  - host of the Cooking with Sara Youtube Channel – is a social media starlet with a finger in every proverbial pie, from Tik-Tok to Instagram, where she is a known influencer.  Goofy, spontaneous, cheerful and outgoing, she overshares with her fans about everything from her zits to her status as an adult virgin.  She’s launching a new podcast, and lands Josh as a guest.  She doesn’t expect to fall for his dry wit or sexy ways.

Sara becomes determined to bring a little joy into Josh’s life, and Josh - scarred by a near-death experience in a bus accident that claimed the lives of multiple friends when he was a teenager  – is drawn to her sunniness in spite of himself.  They become friends, then sex buddies when Sara decides to lose her virginity to him. But when Sara tries to reconcile  Josh with a teammate he hasn’t spoken to in years, conflict arises.  Can they salvage their romance from the ashes?

You Had me at Hockey is a pleasant affair with two decent people falling in love and dealing with their imperfections.

Sara is bouncy and bubbly and not ready to change for anyone, but she feels inadequate – too much, too strange, too weird.  This keeps the tension between her and Josh flowing properly.

Josh, meanwhile, is organized and resolute and comforted by routine after his accident, and he’s never really addressed why that is.  He’s not unlikable, and often he tends to make the reader smile with his gruffness and teasing nature.

The book handles the complexities of its plot well – Josh’s brutal PTSD in particular is excellently dealt with.  As always, Jamieson know her hockey and knows how to bring a game to perfect life, though this is a romance that is rather less focused on the game than some of her others.

I’m only downgrading this a bit for the insta-love between the leads.  They move in together at far too rapid a pace, and perhaps the book could have let their feelings percolate for a little longer.

Otherwise, You Had Me at Hockey is a sweet and simple – and simply enjoyable – romance.

Sara is a famous blogger and YouTuber. She is spontaneous and vibrant and full of excitement. She isn’t exactly looking for love, but it walks in the door for a live interview. Josh Heller plans and controls everything in his life. Except being traded and having his life turned upside down. But he meets Sara. They hit it off and things get out of control for both of them really quickly. Despite obstacles and defense, can they see that often times opposites do attract. Even if a little healing and peace have to be acquired for it to happen.

I loved Sara and Josh. I thought her career was so interesting. I wished we knew more of her background. She had such a cool job but lacked a bit of esteem. She's cool. I still enjoyed her personality.

I remember a hockey accident up in Canada awhile ago. So tragic. Kelly makes a story that explains how tragic events can effect people in so many ways.... especially the survivors. It is handled well and tied the hockey into it.

Josh Heller was in a horrible accident when he was a teenager. The bus carrying his Hockey team crashed, he was severely injured and many other players died or were injured. While he recovered physically, emotionally, he still carries scars. Since his injury, he has to have everything orderly and planned. He is traded from the Dallas Hockey team to New York, which puts him in a state of anxiety. As a new member of the team, he has to do the publicity rounds, which includes a podcast interview with a YouTube influencer, Sara. Where Josh likes plans, Sara is spontaneous, yet they have an undeniable chemistry. Their road to a happily ever after hits a few bumps, mainly due to Josh’s unresolved issues from his crash. This was definitely a fun Hockey romance. While this is a part of a series, it can be read as a stand-alone. I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley for my honest opinion.

Sara and Josh were great. I enjoyed this story and all that came with it. There was a sorted past with his old friend Easton. Interesting what not communicating and putting it all out there can do to your self confidence and how much it impacts your life. In this book, it ties to Must Love Dogs, but can be read as a stand alone, you just get a little back story on Josh if you have read this book too. Josh is traded to a new team in a new city and it comes with so much change so quickly. He does not like change, he is a planner..... how one interview with a up and coming YouTube influencer can change his life. He is not sure if this is a good thing or not, but can't stop going back for more.

Sara, who is taking life one day at a time and trying to figure things out is a little more than Josh can handle, in all of the right ways. Will her live everyday to the fullest be too much for him? or is it exactly what he needs in his life?
