Another great book. So easy to read and her book make you anxious to turn to the next page. So realistic and her characters always remind you of someone you know. So exciting I couldn't stop reading until I got to the end. Looking forward to her next book!

One small mistake can make a huge difference in the lives of many people. This is something I've always believed and it is the underlying theme in this story. The story didn't end the way I thought it would and I'm glad that it didn't. Well written, entertaining story, what I always expect when reading Danielle Steel novels. Can't wait to see what story she comes up with next!

This was a great escape book. I love all of DS’s books and this one did not disappoint. This was not the normal romance and I have to say I did enjoy the more realistic issues.
Many thanks to Random House Publishing and to NetGalley for providing me with a galley in exchange for my honest opinion.

Last year, I started reading Danielle Steel's books after a break of almost 20 years. The Affair is an example of why I used to enjoy her novels so very much. The characters and storyline are well written, I was captivated by the story. If you are looking for an easy and enjoyable read, choose The Affair! It's a great escape from Covid! Thank you NetGalley for the ARC!

Being a long-time Danielle Steel fan, this book was very different from her usual romance that we are used to from her. I have to say that I did enjoy getting a different side of Danielle Steel and see how she can write different stories. There was still some romance in her but nothing like we are used to from her older books. Great read though with a great reminder to maybe give others a second chance!

Rose McCarthy works for Mode magazine and when her employee's suggest that they do a cover shoot with one of the hottest stories circulating, Rose cringes because it involves her daughter. A popular Author who happens to be Rose's son-in-law, is having an affair with the staring role of one of his movies he is directing at the moment. He is not only having an affair, but has gotten her pregnant. Rose's daughter, Nadia, learns of the whole baby about the same time that Rose does.

Rose is put in a strange place when she has to approve the cover shoot or deny it. Rose has an allegiance to her daughter and does not want to destroy their relationship, but she also has an obligation to her job and the magazine to make it the best it can be. Rose has to decide what she is going to allow to take place and she is torn over it.

Nadia has been away for a long time and considers herself an Italian more than an American because of it. When Nadia's husband has his affair, Nadia decides it's time for her to see her sisters and her mom again more often. Nadia knows that she could never move back to the states because her daughters are more fluent in French than English so her having weekend's with her family will have to do. Nadia's sisters are worried about her and know that they have to make sure that she is ok.

Before too long, Nadia is ready to pick herself up and decides that the only thing that she can do is to get a divorce and move on. She has been made fun of publicly and she is not going to stand for it anymore. Nadia is making headway in her business and is about to resign to being alone and divorced until one of her sisters gives her a pep talk and seems to talk some sense into her. Will Nadia be able to forgive and forget or move on? You will enjoy reading this story about Nadia and her husband's affair. Things aren't always better on the other side.

I voluntarily read and reviewed this book and all opinions are my own. Thanks to Netgalley, the publisher and the author for an advanced copy of this book.

Riveting! Heart wrenching story of a high profile affair with consequences that reverberate through the entire family. The husband is not a likable character and his reasons for engaging in infidelity do nothing to make him sympathetic. Well written with good pacing, this novel checks a lot of boxes for me- moving, tension filled, and high stakes emotionally. Danielle Steele never disappoints. Thank you NetGalley for allowing me to review this ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

Danielle's back, but not packing the punch I enjoyed in he previous release. I enjoyed the first half of this book more than I did the second half. The main issue I had was with the husband character, Nicolas. The reasons he gave as his explanation for the affair infuriated me and never did anything to remove that anger. As the story unfolds, it takes far longer than is should for him to grasp the pain he caused. How he wanted things to play out where beyond selfish and completely unrelatable. As the reader, I never felt he truly understood the impact of his selfish actions. His character was meant to be disliked, but I was never able to change my opinion of him as the story continued to unfold.

Danielle told a great, moving story, Her fans will enjoy this latest story, but I never got passed Nicolas from the first half. He was never able to really redeem himself with me. I had a hard time with his stand after his affair was revealed. I felt like he was a child who couldn't understand why things weren't going his way. Maybe it was the culture differences.

I did love the interaction with the sisters. Watching those relationships grow and impact one another was fun to read. The way they came together for each other, in more than one crisis, was awesome. They stood beside one another- no matter what. That was my favorite aspect of the book. I could've read about the sisters and mother relationship all day. They were all so different, but at the end of the day, they were family. Come hell or high water.

Danielle Steel's latest novel tells the story of a successful woman's husband's affair with a famous and beautiful actress. Nadia's mother and sisters also play pivotal roles in the story after the news breaks that Nicholas's extramarital affair that has led to a pregnancy. Nicholas knows his relationship with the young actress Pascale isn't set for the long term, but he can't get over his passion for her. Pascale is a shallow character whose mother instincts never kick in, even after she has the baby. Nadia is heartbroken and unsure if she should end her marriage or forgive her husband back for his infidelities. Her mother and sisters have strong but differing opinions on how she should handle the situation, and they're never reluctant to share their thoughts.

While this is a nice book to relax with, I wasn't entirely satisfied with Nadia's final decision. Like her family members, I had strong opinions about what she should do. The plot was rather thin, and as with other DS books, there's a lot of repetition. But I'll gladly read her next novel because no one writes lightweight stories better than Steel.

Another great read from Danielle Steel that I was thoroughly impressed with. She takes her reader and pulls them through the tears with the ups and downs, a book that you just can't seem to put down. Each character was brought to life and I felt like part of the family immersing myself in their drama. I really appreciated the sisterly dynamic that was created and how they worked through their troubles together.

Typical Danielle books are usually where the main character has death and finds love again.
This time around one of the main characters daughter Nadia who is a interior designer. Is having to decide what to do when all the papers catch her famous producer husband having an affair. This book show all the raw emotion/s Nadia goes through. Her sisters and mother are around to offer her comfort. But it comes down to can Nadia forgive and forget. So that she can keep her marriage and family together. Thoroughly enjoyed this book.

Another Winner for Danielle Steel. She takes the time to focus on her characters and to bring them life. I loved the storyline and wish that there was a sequel to this one. You want to laugh and cry at the same time. But most of all I smiled. Thank you for allowing me to read this wonderful book.

Danielle Steel has done it again! “The Affair” is an intriguing and attention grabbing novel that I couldn’t put down. The storyline entails romance, betrayal and forgiveness.

The main characters: Nadia- wife, Nicholas- Nadia’s adulterous husband, Athena, Olivia and Venetia- Nadia’s three sisters, and Rose- Nadia’s mother.

I was drawn into Nadia’s behavior with trying to keep normalcy in her crumbling marriage while protecting their children. Her motherly instincts touched me and dragged me deeper into the novel.

The challenges Nadia went through during her husband’s affair and subsequent pregnancy with his mistress was infuriating. Athena, Olivia and Venetia provided their own perspectives, baggage and advice, Rose watched and hoped everything would work out but anticipating the worst.

Nadia had more compassion than I thought was warranted but it led to a very fulfilling and unexpected ending.
I recommend this book.

Thank you to both NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group for providing me an ARC and an opportunity to provide feedback on “The Affair“.

The Affair is filled with wonderful characters that spin a captivating tale of family drama. Danielle Steel is a master storyteller. I can easily see this book being made into a movie. I loved the sisters and the interactions as a family unit with their Mother.

Danielle Steel does not disappoint. This is the story of a family matriarch and her adult daughters. Each one of the daughters faces challenges, but one daughter must deal with an affair. The novel revolves around the reaction of the family to the affair, as well as that of Rose, the matriarch. As it turns out, that is not the only secret being kept and Nadia is not the only injured party. The development of the characters is good, and the descriptions make you feel as if you are a part of the family and story. Without giving anything away, I have to say that I was not happy with the ending of the story as it related to Nadia and the affair. However, I still enjoyed the story. Thank you to NetGalley, the author and publisher for the opportunity to review this book.

another family drama from the queen of family dramas. I found it just ok. A "secret" affair is brought to light and blows a family open

What a beautifully written story with the details only Danielle Steel can deliver. Rose is a strong , gorgeous widow who runs a national magazine whose four daughters are grown and become as successful as their mother in their own right. But what may look perfect from the outside is not always perfect on the inside. Helping one of her daughters whose storybook life in France is falling part, Rose and all the daughters find a new strength within themselves. This was a book I could not stop reading until I reached the end. Thank you so much to Random House and NetGalley for my requested copy of the ARC.

haven’t read a book by Danielle Steele in ages but I had the opportunity to request an ARC from net galley and received it. I hate giving poor reviews but this book, like her others left me wanting for more of a deep story. Not one that all ends well for everyone. Nadia, the daughter of Rose, one of four sisters is living a nightmare. Her husband is having an affair with this starlet, a 22 year old child and impregnates her. Pascal is her name and she is truly not interested in having this child and her affair with Nicholas is just a fleeting passion which detonates his marriage to Nadia .Her other sisters at the same time are going thru their own turmoil. It was an easy read but I truly enjoy books with much more depth. I want to thank net galley for the ARC I received for an honest review. By the way, it was well written. If you love Danielle Steele’s books then I recommend it. (less)

Thanks Netgalley for allowing me to read this book. Rose Mccarthy is the editor of a magazine. She has four daughters who live in different countries. Her youngest daughter Nadia husband is having an affair with an actress who is pregnant. The staff at the magazine Rose works at wants to put the actress and and Nadia's husband to be featured on the cover of the magazine. I enjoyed the different dynamics of the characters.

Love, forgiveness and family are the themes of The Affair, Danielle Steels’s story of a broken family. When successful interior designer Nadia Bateau’s husband Nicholas, a best selling author, meets much younger actor Pascale Solon on a film set, he is instantly infatuated. Within months, the affair is public and Pascale is pregnant. Nicholas tells Nadia he still loves her and will eventually return to her and their two young daughters.

Nadia’s family does not take this situation well. Her mother Rose, a famous fashion magazine editor, reluctantly chooses to feature the couple in her magazine. Nadia’s sisters, Venetia, Olivia and Athena comfort her and urge her to divorce Nicholas. Nadia is torn. She loves him, her daughters adore him and he does not want a divorce. However, knowing that every time he leaves her, he is going to Pascale is devastating. She finally makes a choice and will not change her mind.

The Affair, an easy read, is not my favorite Danielle Steel novel. I did not like the ending, happy though it is. I know the story makes the reader wonder how she would handle the situation. In my life, one part of the conclusion would not happen. Still, a 4 star review.

Thank you to NetGalley, Random House Publishing Group and Danielle Steel for this ARC.

In this turbulent time, comfort reads are necessary for me. Normally, a Danielle Steel novel is a big comfort read. I was not thrilled with The Affair. First, there were a lot of characters at the very beginning. It took me awhile to sort them out. Secondly, at first the book focused on Rose. Then more than halfway through the story virtually dumps her amd shifts completely to Nadia. I thought one character was completely selfish and another was a doormat. I really did not like the ending. I was irritated with two of the characters for most of the book. Not the comfort read I was looking for.
