Star Wars The High Republic: Into the Dark by Claudia Gray, a good read into the times of the High Republic Jedi. If you are a fan or reading Star Wars, you will enjoy this book.

This is a top level addition to the world of Star Wars novels. Characterization is textured and sophisticated. I finished the last page wanting more of these people, especially more of them interacting as Gray really cooks with gas when writing ensemble scenes. The plot was enthralling, and the temporal gap between this narrative and the films, for example, sets readers up to think about both what changes and stays the same and how long, long temporality is at work in Star Wars. Wonderful!

So exited to be able to read this one, it was a lot of fun. The characters are make a dynamic padawan and Jedi duo for the ages, and it’s got a fun set up for The High Republic.

This book was a great first step into the new timeline of Star Wars. It made you instantly dive into who these characters are and what makes them who they are. It did a great job introducing the new timeline, the new villains, and new characters. Definitely will recommend to everyone when it comes out!
