4 out of 5 stars - If you ask me, I'll tell you to read it (but read the other 2 first)

Thank you to Thomas Nelson Publishing and NetGalley for this Advanced Readers Copy. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

I really enjoyed this continuation of the Pelican Harbor series (One Little Lie, Two Reasons to Run) and have to wonder if it will continue beyond a trilogy.

Police Chief Jane Hardy has had a lot of drama in her world since learning that her son Will was alive, her father kept the truth from her, and they can now all be together. That is, until someone kills her son's adoptive mother and frames her son for the murder. The entire book revolves around why someone would want to kill the woman and why they would want to pin it on Will. Through the twists and turns of the story, I had some inklings of who the killer might be and why, but the final reveal was not exactly as expected. I do love a good hidden surprise at the end.

In the stunning conclusion of the Pelican Harbor series, Jane's son has been arrested for murder. Can she convince the judge of his innocence all the while solving another murder and the missing days of her past so she can live freely with her son and his dad, Reed?

This series has been an edge-of-your-seat series. This series should be considered aerobic exercise. Your heart rate is up for hours at a time and you are sweating by the end of many chapters trying to keep one step ahead of the bad guys.

You must read this series in order or you will lose the excitement each book offers on its own.

I received a complimentary copy from the publisher, Thomas Nelson, through NetGalley. All opinions expressed above are entirely my own.

Three Missing Days by Colleen Coble was a great read. The third and final in the series with a great ending for the series.

Three Missing Days is the last and final installment in the Pelican Harbor series. This is a series that you must read in order so if you have not read the first two yet, I highly recommend you start with those. I believe that this is the best of the three in the series. Readers will be pleased with how Jane and Reid's story turns out and to see that Jane gets some closure on some issues from her past.

This story was full of page-turning suspense as multiple murders are being investigated including one where Jane and Reid's son has been accused. I was surprised at the end to see who was behind everything.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for a copy of this book. All opinions expressed are entirely my own.

Faith and family:
Third in the trilogy, this picks up right where the last one finished off so you'll definitely want to have read the previous two prior to this. I'd also recommend reading them all within a short time period if possible so as to keep track of the moving plot as I had a hard time recalling facts from previous books.
The author did a good job exploring the themes of faith and family. I enjoyed the message that we need to determine to trust God even when life is hard and things look bleak. There were plenty of threats from multiple sources so there was quite a lot of tension to the book, however it was nice seeing things come to a head and finally get some answers. Reid and Jane had a tough journey but I really liked seeing their personal growth and development as well as watching them find lasting love and happiness together. Teenager Will was also an inspiration seeing how he held up under the awful circumstances that he was placed in.
Overall this was an enjoyable, suspenseful read full of emotion and danger. It was a satisfying culmination to what was a complex yet compelling story.

This is the last book in the Pelican Harbor series and you will want to read the first two before picking up this one. This book is filled with suspense and action and is very difficult to put down. I just wanted to find out what happened next! It was great to get a conclusion on these characters that I've come to know and enjoy.

This is a book of hope through tribulation. It takes the reader on a ride through the justice system that has been manipulated. The action is tense, but it does have some spots for your senses to take a rest. The characters are very relatable and likeable. Colleen Coble has written another winner.

Jane and Reid are facing every parent's worst nightmare when their 15 year old son Will is falsely charged with manslaughter. Meanwhile Jane is investigating the murder of a local woman, and face from her past some back to haunt her, and questions swirl about what they should to to protect their son when all the evidence points to Will.

A thrilling, suspense-filled conclusion to the Pelican Harbor Series, nail-biting and heart pounding emotionally, in a way that made this book near impossible to put down because I just had to know what would happen next!

A must read for people who have read the other books in the series, as this book gives it a satisfying, yet suspenseful conclusion, as well as draws on information revealed in previous books. The series is well worth the read!

I loved the character development over the course of the series and how Jane has grown in her faith, and we have gotten to know Will. Jane has an amazingly supportive best friend who is also going through a health crisis of her own during this trying time. Reid is a wonderful man who has also been through a lot, and I like that he has been there for Jane while also given her space to process everything that they have been through.

Overall a heart-pounding and heart wringing read, with terrific characters and plot that makes the book impossible to put down. There is so much going on, and all of the threads are woven together in a satisfying way, with plenty of twists along the way. Highly recommend!

This third book in the series is just as interesting as the other two. It would be helpful to read one and two as to get the whole picture. Jane, the Chief of Police in Pelican Harbor and her ex husband Reid were both reared in an occult. She always thought her son was killed in a fire when she was but a teenager, then she finds out he is alive and also is her husband. She learns to care for Will and longs to make up for the years she lost. Now 15 year old Will is arrested for murder. She knows he is innocent but she needs to prove he is innocent. He being the Chief’s son will not be an easy thing to do. Jane concludes that someone else–Reid or her dad is the actual target and maybe occult members are trying to get to them through her son. Hold on to your seat as the action is swift and harrowing. What a great ending to this series, looking forward to Coble’s next series…..I received a complimentary copy of this book. It will depend what the reader is looking for whether they enjoy this book or not. It is necessary to have read the previous two books in the trilogy in order to get a full understanding of what happens in this book.

Let me clarify that for me, a three star rating means that a book is fine. It is a book that I would recommend with certain conditions. For this book those conditions depend on what the reader hopes to get out of the story. If the reader is looking for an action packed, plausible thriller plot line, they most likely will not enjoy this one. If they are looking for more romantic suspense than thriller and don’t mind the recycling of plot lines from the previous two books, they will likely enjoy this one. In some ways this book has the feel of a soap opera, in that so many things happen within the span of the book that it seems impossible to be true to real life.

In short, if the reader enjoyed the first two books of the trilogy, they will enjoy continuing with this one to learn how things wrap up with Jane, Reid, and Will. Readers who did not necessarily enjoy the previous books most likely will feel the same about this one.

Thanks go to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

3.5 stars

Three Missing Days is the conclusion of the Pearl Harbor series and wraps up the story of Jane, Will, and Reid. While this book could be read on it's own, I wouldn't recommend it as some of the storylines began in the first book, One Little Lie.

There were a lot of things happening in Three Missing Days: there were three murders to investigate, Will gets arrested for one of the murders, break-ins, tornadoes, and more secrets from Jane's past spill out.

For me, the person behind the attack on Jane and her family seemed obvious but it seemed to take forever for Jane and Reid to start looking in that direction. It also felt as if there was a bit of a rush to tie up some of the loose ends like Olivia's illness which resulted in the resolution being glossed over.

Still, it was good to come to the end of Jane's story with the hope that she will, finally, have the happy family she always wanted. I also liked that Jane had finally made her peace with God though I would have liked to see more of the process on the page.

There was a theme in Three Missing Days that though it may not seem like it, God is working things out in your favor and has not forsaken you. I received an advanced reader's copy from the publishers through NetGalley ; a positive review was not required.

The final book in the Pelican Harbor series comes together to bring to conclusion many of the mysteries developed in the earlier two. Chief of Police Jane Hardy finds herself in a bind when she has to recuse herself from a murder due to conflict of interest while others she is close to are deep into trouble and attempting to solve the mystery. She finds that as much as she doesn't want to she must contact her mother in order to seek information that will help unwind this convoluted mystery.

Once again the small town of Pelican Harbor is truly charming even though it is steeped in troubles. Characters reappear from the first two books along with Jane Hardy's friend, Reid Dixon and his son, Will. Her police dog, Parker, as always has a roll in helping solve the mystery.

Well written, thoroughly enjoyable conclusion to this series.

3 and 1/2 stars rounded to 4.

After a wonderful start I found Three Missing Days started to lose my interest as the mix of suspense and normal life was somewhat weird in the telling. I stuck with it not expecting much while at the same time expecting to finish the book with at least 3 stars since I’ve found in the past Coble’s books to drag and then pick up.

Wow, was I glad I stuck with it. The second half of the book grabbed my attention and with a few groans at slow places I was still eager to find out what would happen to the characters and where the story was going.

This isn’t your normal suspense as it is so much … more. It ends with a beautiful redeeming end after a story that was at times quite stark.

Content warnings: mentions of past mistakes, dealings with cults, murders, threats, and more of the like.

Suggested for 18+

I voluntarily received and reviewed a complimentary e/copy of this book which I received from the author/publisher. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.

This was an excellent finish to the series. As this series follows the same main characters the whole way through, it definitely helps if you read the whole series in order, although you may be able to understand this book as a stand-alone you will pick up on more if you’ve read the first two. The book has good pacing between what is going on and the relationship between Reid and Jane. It wasn’t too hard to figure out who the killer(s) was as the story went on but figuring out the motivation behind it and how exactly it all tied together was a mystery until almost the end.

Three Missing Days” is Colleen Coble’s third book in the Pelican Harbor series. This story starts where book two ends and welcomes back chief of police Jane Hardy. To get you up to speed, Jane lived in a cult compound with her parents until she was fifteen. After giving birth to a baby she was told had died, her father took her and they both disappeared. Fast forward a decade and a half, and Jane is reunited with her son Will and Will’s father, Reid. In this installment of the series, Jane and Reid are trying to figure out where their relationship goes from here. Mix in Reid's estranged wife Lauren, former cult leader Gabriel, a murder, three missing days, a dirty bomb, and a whole lot of regrets, and you have got yourself a pretty dramatic scene.

The title of this book refers to three missing days of Jane Hardy’s life while she was immersed in the cult.  She has no idea what happened during this time, believing she had been drugged.  This is a great way to tell this part of the story, as the reader and Jane both uncover the details as the book progresses. I really would have liked to have seen more time spent within those days rather than just a narrative about what took place, but we did not get too much of that. As this drama plays somewhat in the background, the major story- arson ending in the deaths of two people- occurs early on, with fifteen-year-old Will accused of the crime. The rest of the story is Reid and Jane trying to find justice for Will and get their son out of custody. As with most thrillers everything is tied up neatly at the end, and while I do like these characters and have enjoyed this series, I think it's a good place to stop. It looks like Reid, Jane and Will are finally getting the peace that they all wish for and deserve, and it feels like a happily ever after ending.

A good read, for anybody who is interested in thrillers with a Christian undertone. No sex scenes, but the suggestion is there, and Cobel is certainly not a prude when it comes to writing about the normal physical interactions of a couple. Cobol is part of the Harper Collins Christian publishing team and her story has a fair amount of references to God, prayer and faith. While this book can be read as a standalone, I would not recommend it. It would be challenging to follow if one did not know the back story. Start with the first book in the series, “One Little Lie”, followed by “Two Reasons to Run”.

Thank you for the opportunity to read and review this book!

I've read many books by Coleen Coble and have enjoyed them all. I've read the first two in this series and loved them. These books are easy to read and fast paced and easy to follow. I hope there are more in this series. I'm come to like the characters and want to see relationships develop more.

Three missing days ties up all the loose ends of Jane Hardy's story from her early days in a cult to her present as a Police Chief on the Alabama gulf coast. She's still recovering from wounds, adjusting to being a mom of a teenager and trying to come to terms with her feelings for and possible future with her son's father Reid. Not to mention reconciling her childhood in the cult, missing memories and questions about her long-missing mom. If things can't get bad enough, her son Will is arrested for a horrific murder. As Reid and Jane rush to solve the murder to that they can free Will from jail and prove his innocence, her past rushes back in ways she never expected. She's piecing together her past in order to save her son and her future, but can she pull it all together in time? Colleen Coble is a magnificent storyteller, weaving romance, suspense and adventure into another captivating tale. Her Christian orientation tells the story in detail without being so graphic as to make the reader uncomfortable withe either the story content or the faithful slant. Jane Hardy and family make for a solid jumping off point for a new series of mysteries. Hope it doesn't take too long for the next one to come out.

This is a 3rd book in the series and definitely a wrong one to start with.
Though the back story is told in brief, I sadly could not connect with the characters or the story line.
Maybe I will re read the book once I start with book 1

Thank you Netgalley & Thomas Nelson books for the ARC
