A great conclusion to an excellent series. Jane has overcome a lot and is just trying to find her footing with her son and her ex, Reid. True to Coble fashion, before they even have a chance to settle in, things heat up in ways I could not believe. This story wrenched my heart as the bad guy went into territory you hope and pray against. I love the testimony and strength of her son, Will and pray for the same grace in my own sons. Coble is the master at drawing your heart into moments of tenderness and truth, then ramping it up with action and suspense. A truly riveting ride all suspense readers are sure to enjoy. I thoroughly enjoyed this family during this series and loved the ending that wrapped it all up into a satisfying conclusion. If you have not read the previous books in the series, you will still enjoy this one, but there are spoilers. I highly recommend reading in order to receive the full benefits. I received a copy from the publisher and all opinions expressed are my own, freely given.

In Three Missing Days, book three of The Pelican Harbor Series, author Colleen Coble transports the reader back to the Gulf Shores area of Pelican Harbor, Alabama, to catch up on the story of Police Chief Jane Hardy and Investigative Journalist Reid Dixon.

While Jane, Reid, and their son Will are building their relationship, Reid's ex-wife Lauren comes back into the picture after being missing for eight years and causing a lot of trouble and hearteache. And if that isn't enough, Jane's plate overflows when her office has not one, but two murders to solve ... and it is all intertwined with Jane's memory of three missing days from her past. And to make matters worse, someone is hellbent on seeking revenge on their family, and has setup Will for one of the murders.

With a murderer seeking revenge on the loose, their son setup on a manslaughter charge, and trying to remember three missing days of Jane's past and battling personal family demons, Jane and Reid join forces to find the murderer and prove Will's innocence.

Author Colleen Coble weaves a fast-paced and suspenseful tale written in the third person narrative that follows Jane and Reid's investigative journey in search of the murderer and clearing their son's name, while dealing with the lies, secrets, and deceit from their past, and stopping a person from their past who is hellbent on destroying their family. The reader will be easily drawn into the continuation of this well written story with its richly descriptive plot and setting.

The author does a wonderful job of transporting the reader back to Pelican Harbor, as Jane and Reid's latest investigation unfolds. The drama and suspense is intense; and the tangled web of family drama, secrets, lies, deceit, and heartache will keep the reader engaged and guessing what will happen next until the surprising conclusion to the story. This is the third and final book in The Pelican Harbor series. This series is one that romantic suspense fans will thoroughly enjoy reading.

Three Missing Days has enough drama, tension, action, flashbacks and clues from the past, a growing list of suspects, a hint of a romance, and unexpected twists and turns that will take the reader on one heck of a thrilling roller coaster ride.

Coleen Coble pulls out all the stops in this third and final installment of the Pelican Harbor, Alabama series. It is a gripping, romantic suspense story filled with second chances, action, danger and a depth of relationship and love that adds to the urgency of this story as these characters confront the face of evil wondering how they would escape death’s clutches. This author does a wonderful job of keeping you up late into the night desperately wanting to know what happens next.

Another element I adore in this authors stories’ is the setting. She does a wonderful job of allowing the reader to jump into the tastes, smells, and uniqueness of this small town. When asked about it in an interview she says….”I knew nothing about Bamahenge before my first visit…You have to taste shrimp gumbo to really appreciate it, and there is nothing like watching the pelicans swoop over the water and snatch up fish. I would not have realized oil and gas platforms dot the landscape offshore without seeing them from the beach. It was during our first visit that a young friend working on a shrimp boat told me about the things they haul up in the nests. That was the catalyst for the entire series…”

The author includes questions to help you create a lively discussion at your book club meeting. If you have not read a book by this author treat yourself to a grand adventure. This a page-turner you do not want to miss.

Three Missing Days is the conclusion in the Pelican Harbor series. You’ll need to start with book one as all the books follow the same characters. Jane Hardy is the police chief of Pelican Harbor, and things take a bad turn for her and Reid Dixon when their son is implicated in a murder. Someone is out to destroy Jane’s family, and she and Reid try to track down a killer.

Three Missing Days is my favorite out of the series. This story has quite a bit of suspense and drama. What’s a mother to do when her fifteen-year-old son is being framed for murder? Jane finally gets to resolve some of her issues with her family and her past. Plus, Jane and Reid develop their romance. While this is a great series, I had a few issues with believability in the plot line (as in would that really happen?) But overall, I quite enjoyed all three books and recommend them for anyone looking for a good romantic suspense series.

4 stars (I liked it a lot and would definitely recommend)
4 stars (lots of action and suspense to keep me intrigued)

I received an ebook review copy of this book through NetGalley. All opinions expressed in this review are my own.

THREE MISSING DAYS (Pelican Harbor Book #3) by Colleen Coble is the final action packed Christian romantic suspense/mystery book in this trilogy. While each book has a unique crime plot which is solved in each book, the characters all have integral personal stories that progress throughout all three books which makes them better read in order in my opinion.

Chief of Police Jane Hardy is called to the scene of a fire with two deaths. Just as the investigation gets going, Jane and Reid also have to deal with the arrest of their son, Will on a murder charge. He is being framed with the murder of Reid’s ex-wife and his adopted mother. Jane is terrified and knows she has to trust her team and have faith in them and God to prove Will’s innocence, while she works on the murders tied to the fire.

The two deadly cases merge as more evidence is discovered. Jane and Reid find the murders are also tied to their pasts in the cult. Will they be able to solve these cases and discover who wants to frame Will and destroy Jane’s family?

This is a fast paced, fantastic conclusion to this trilogy! Jane and Reid are tested to the limit in this book. Their pasts just will not let them move on until all is revealed and laid to rest. All of their family and friends add to the small town feel and add depth to the story. I loved that this mystery/crime plot tied the past to the present and left you with answers, forgiveness and strong family ties which all flowed well into the HEA.

I highly recommend this Christian romantic suspense, the entire trilogy and this author!

This is one of those series that is best read from start to finish. I have read the first but missed the second and so found I was grasping for some of the pieces of the puzzle that were obviously introduced in the second one. In particular, around Jane and Reid's history as childhood sweethearts in their family cult. I struggled at times to know who was saying what because their history was similar.

We're now in the present, Jane is still Chief of Police in quiet little Pelican Harbor. She's now dating Reid, but his ex-wife, Lauren is on the scene and is claiming her adopted rights over Jane and Reid's son, Will.

What Coble does so well is move the story along. She is great with pace. Even though sometimes I'm playing catchup because there is so much going on, two people suspiciously dead in a house fire, then this ex-wife of Reid's turns up dead implicating their son, Will, in her murder, I'm happily turning pages.

Jane is no Olivia Benson of SVU fame and I sometimes question her police chief capabilities but she is so likeable and her predicament is at times dire that we're rooting for her all the time. Reid is a man of faith which I like and even though his son is incarcerated in juvie he keeps holding onto his faith.

Like she did in the first story, Coble throws lots into the plot, I frequently wonder if too much, and the attempts to solve the various murders appear at times a tad, amateurish, but our hearts go out to her lead characters which makes the story very readable.

It all ends reasonably predictably but it was a lot of fun and very readable.

I received an early ebook copy from Thomas Nelson via the First Editions reading program and NetGalley with no expectation of a favourable review.

Wow, this is a crazy series, but in a good way. I mean, how much can happen to one family in such a short amount of time. Crazy!!! This definitely should be read as a series and in order. Jane, Reid and Will make a great family, but things just keep getting in the way. This was a hard book to read at times because as a Mom I can't imagine what Jane and Reid go through and poor Will. I just want to give him a big hug. Love that boy. There are a lot of crazy layers in this story and it brings together a pretty incredible tale. I loved the way this series ended. It was great.

Three Missing Days kept me on the edge of my seat! I had no way of guessing what could possibly happen next. After reading the first two books in this series, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this story. Picking up this book I was already so invested in Jane, Reid, and their son Will. Reading the blurb on the back of the book didn’t prepare me for all I was in store for. Coble is at the top of her game, and I couldn’t get enough. Just when I thought I knew most of what there was to know about Jane, I find out there are 3 days she can’t remember from when she was still in the compound. What happened in those three days can change everything. Can Jane remember in time? And will remembering only bring more pain and confusion? I could not put this book down, and know you will enjoy it as much as I did. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Mystery and Suspense with a little romance mixed in. As stated I have read the first two books in this series and totally recommend that you read all three. That being said, this book gives some back story, so you can enjoy it as a stand alone as well. All opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher and was in no way forced to post a positive review.

In the latest release by Ms. Coble, readers will be submerged into the last book in this series. I have read the other two books and could not wait to read this book to find out what would happen next. The main character in this book is Jane, the Police Chief. The story begins with a murder and there are several strange circumstances that occur as well. Jane is trying to figure out what is going on when other things happen to cause major distractions to keep her from solving this case. A major twist to the story occurred when Jane’s son Will was suspected of murdering someone. Jane is on a race with Will’s dad, Reid, to figure out what is going on and how to stop whoever is behind everything. Readers will be able to catch up and find out the conclusion to other characters’ stories. I highly recommend this book and series and know you will not be disappointed!!! Ms. Coble is one of the best romantic suspense writers!

Three Missing Days, by Colleen Coble, is book three in The Pelican Harbor series. This series is a continuing story so it is best to read them in order. The author does a good job of giving some background information, but I did feel something was missing from the story since I hadn’t read the first two book.

Fifteen years earlier Jane’s and Reid’s families were part of a cult compound when she had their son. Now the past is coming back and she is forced to remember three days from that time.

This is a great story, one that makes me want to go back and read the series in order. It is full of action and suspense yet focuses on family and faith. One of the points in the story that stands out to me is when Jane is feeling down, Reid tells her that everything in life fails, but God doesn’t fail us. He tells her that we will see God’s work in time. I especially enjoyed the family interactions, specifically when Jane’s father talks with Reid about his feeling. This was so good.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

This was an awesome conclusion to the series. It is very well written and filled with suspense. I love the setting because I live on the Gulf Coast. I highly recommend!

Three missing days doves deeper into the emotions and relationships Of the lead detective and her family. Her son is framed for a murder he did not commit and JaneIs desperate to prove his innocence.

This was a good story plot but felt a little repetitive to the second book in the series where Jane’s father is also framed for a murder. The conclusion of the story is unique but can everyone be out to get Jane and her family all of the time?

I definitely love the characters and the emotional connection they have to each other.

Three Missing Days is the third exciting novel in Colleen Coble's latest series based in the beautiful town of Pelican Harbor.

Chief of police, Jane Hardy is trying to solve the mystery behind the deaths of a local woman and a firefighter. When her son, Will, is arrested for the murder of another woman, Jane and Reid, Will's father, have to figure out who is behind it all. But who can they trust? Why can't Jane remember what happened on those three days so long ago? And could those missing days possibly be behind whoever is targeting her family?

This story is full of heart pounding suspense, romance, and faith. The mysterious murderer kept me guessing right up until the end. I enjoyed seeing Jane and Reid grow closer together as the story progressed. I also appreciated seeing how close-knit their little family was, despite the struggles and trauma they have been through. No matter what happened, they kept relying on God--and each other--to help them make it through.

I have to admit that I hadn't realized this book was part of a series when I started reading it, so I was a little confused at the beginning, and quite frustrated with myself when I realized my mistake. Thankfully, I was able to piece together most of it pretty quickly, and will finally have the whole story as soon as the first two books arrive. Despite my confusion, I still really enjoyed the novel, and highly recommend it to all romantic suspense fans. However, definitely make sure to read the first two books, One Little Lie and Two Reasons to Run, before this one!

The third in a series and this is one of those that yes the mystery is self contained in this book, but there is a lot of character development from book to book and it is so much better to start at square one in this instance.

Chief Police Jane Hardy is dealing with a dead body in chapter one and the book sets of sprinting. Along with her ex and their kid, they are navigating what kind of relationship they will have in the future and also dealing with his ex who has been giving them a hard time!

I can't remember if I felt this way in the previous books, but there were quite a few mysteries happening in this one book and while they all get solved in one way or another in the end, there were times where I felt like it was teetering on too much. The author did bring it together, but I was concerned.

Only a side note, this is Christian fiction and I knew that going in, but it felt as though there were a few times where it was forced into the book and it didn't seem as natural as Colleen Coble tends to do.

Colleen Coble is a great author and I love her stories. It was fun looking he up after finishing this one and finding out I haven't completed her backlist - YET!

Three Missing Days by Colleen Coble is the third book in the Pelican Harbor series, but it can be read as a standalone. I would highly recommend reading the first two books before reading this one as you might miss a few things. I did not realize that I had not read the second book before I started reading this one, but I had read the first so I had a good idea of what was going on in the book.

Colleen Coble is a masterful writer, writing riveting suspense novels that capture you from the first moment until the last. Her plot development and character development are solid, every time she writes a book. A common theme in her books is that it is hard to figure the bad guy out until the end, making her suspense novels on another level from other writers of suspense.

Three Missing Days caught my attention from the first line "I know what you did." What follows is a complicated web of deceit that started many years ago and it is hard to know who to trust and who is involved.

Jane has trust issues, but if you had been through what she had been through you would have trust issues as well. In some ways her life is like Job, she loses everything, but then the Lord gives back tenfold. I think her trust issues and doubts make her more relatable and her raw emotions in this book more real. She has to be strong for her job but the circumstances in this book break her in a way we had not seen before.

Reid is struggling with Lauren popping back into his and Will's life and bitter that when everything he has ever wanted is finally in his grasp, she comes back to ruin things. He is stunned by Will being charged with murder and he desperately wants to take the accusation upon himself. He struggles in his faith, struggles to see where God is at in all this, and struggles with if it really will turn out for good.

There are many layers to this book, as avid fans of Coble have come to expect. While most things are made clear and resolution is found, you are still left with a few questions. I wonder what Jane's relationship with her mother will be, or if she will even have one with her.

Overall, this is another great suspense novel from Coble and not to be missed (although read the first two books first). Fans of Lynette Eason, Terri Blackstock, Elizabeth Goddard, Lynn Blackburn, Irene Hannon, and Patricia Bradley will enjoy this one. I recommend this to anyone who enjoys a good clean mystery that will keep you turning the pages long after the lights should have been turned off.

Thank you to Net Galley and Thomas Nelson for the opportunity to read this book. I was not required to give a positive review and all thoughts and opinions are my own.

An absolutely fabulous book! I loved the characters, the story line and the conclusion! Some people may think this can be a standalone, but I don't agree! I think you need to read the first two books in the series to really know what is going on with all the characters! The background of the characters is too hard to understand without the knowledge of the previous books. You might be able to piece it together but personally, I think you miss out on all the information you need and the richness of the characters' development. Police Chief Jane has SO much on her plate! Not only does she have crime going on in her small, coastal town but her personal life is very stressful with her 15 year old son suddenly being accused of murder! I can't even imagine it. There are a lot of other things from her past going on too and how she doesn't just fold under the pressure, is beyond me! I know I would! Fortunately, Jane has Reid, her son's father, to support her and together they are going to exonerate their son. There are so many twists and turns that I couldn't read this book fast enough. I loved everything about this book!

This is another installment in the Pelican Harbor series. Sheriff Jane Hardy is still trying to unravel the mysteries of her childhood with little help from her parents who are both holding back information. Meanwhile, her son Will is being threatened and she and Reid, her ex- who is Will’s father, are frantically working to solve the situation and help Will. The story answers a lot of questions from the first two books and I really enjoyed it. There was a lot of suspense and “who done it,” involved which always make for a great story.

I have voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from NetGalley. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.

I really liked this book. I told my husband I needed to finish this book because I needed to solve the case. Thats how it felt that you were solving the case right along with Jane, Reid and Jane's staff. I really Liked Jane she was a fighter and she struggled but had no problem letting it out there and question her own faith. I liked how the author didn't make everything seem so "perfect" but showed that they struggled even in the good times. I also liked the author kept is cleaned and a good read for all. Overall this book is so worth the read!

After the fire is out there are two bodies, a woman and a firefighter. Police Chief Jane Hardy investigates when the woman’s death is classified as a murder. When a man from the commune that Jane and her father fled years ago arrives in the area, he demands to know where “it” is. She has no idea as she is missing all knowledge of that three-day time period. She was with her mother, but why can’t she remember? When Reid Dixon’s wife Lauren returns saying that they are still legally married, Jane’s life is upended again. Lauren was declared legally dead when she disappeared almost eight years ago. Reid is Jane’s partner and the father of her teenage son, Will. Now Lauren seems to be missing again or is she really dead this time? A twisted mystery and a little confusing if you had not read the previous books as to Reid and Jane’s past history. I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review. (by paytonpuppy)
