Another new author for me to check out!

This is the 3rd in a series and it took a little to figure out who all the people were and how they were related but once I did, wow!

This was a novel with so much suspense and mystery running through it. I did not want to put the book down as I wanted to see who was behind the murder.

A complex murder mystery rounds out book three of the exciting Pelican Harbor series! Continuing on from book two, the main characters find themselves dead center in someone's vendetta, bringing the danger close to home. There are two murders to solve this time, plus a cold case.

Building onto the backstory from the previous books in the series, book 3 ties up loose ends of both Jane and Reid's story. Both have a need to forgive some huge wrongs done to them. They bring each other comfort as they turn to their faith for help. The author includes meaningful discussions about trusting God in the midst of difficult circumstances, dealing with doubts, and not losing hope. It was encouraging to read.

The romance takes it up a few notches in this book, but is appropriate given the situation. Emotional tension runs high as they are severely tested. I liked how the author brings healing into Jane's relationships as she wrestles with her past. The unique aspect of living in a cult plays a big part in her story still, coloring her present perspective. She had a lot to overcome.

Recommend this exciting series to fans of romantic suspense with faith. It is best enjoyed by reading the books in order.

I have been reading and reviewing Colleen Coble’s latest suspense series since the first Pelican Harbor novel came out and was happily pleased with this gripping conclusion. While I thought that the second installment in this series was a bit of a letdown in comparison to the fast paced, cliffhanger the first book led with, I loved seeing the development of Reid and Jane’s relationship in this book and discovering all the missing pieces that the first two books teased. Even though the stakes become unrealistically high, the suspense takes reader full circle to a most satisfying conclusion, while mulling over questions of faith and trusting God. Colleen Coble’s mysteries are always cozy armchair romantic suspense and Three Missing Days is no exception.

Colleen Coble brings us the conclusion to her Pelican Harbor series with this fast-paced novel. Jane Hardy, chief of police in small Pelican Harbor, dives into an investigation of a fire that has claimed two lives. And it's not accidental. At the same time, Jane's personal life has taken a most dramatic turn. Her fifteen year old son is arrested for a murder and Jane must trust her ex, Will's father, with both her heart and to prove Will is not guilty.

'Can't you feel it? I sense walls closing in around us, hemming us in, trying to get us to make a mistake.'

Three days are missing from a very traumatic time in Jane's past and if she could only remember those days, it would go incredibly far in solving both these cases.

Coble has written a best series since her Rock Harbor one with these three books. She creates multiple layers in each book, ramping up the excitement and intrigue every few chapters. She saved the best for last because I had trouble tearing myself away from this story to do life. She ratchets up the suspense, keeping the reader guessing. I did not have a clue who the culprit was, even though I was constantly trying to figure it out. I loved every single minute and Coble brings it to a very special closing. Loved this series so very much. Well done!

Three Missing Days by Colleen Coble is a three-book series with each individual story having a mystery, but there is an overarching series mystery that comes to the ending in Three Missing Days. Jane, the heroine, finally has a mystery that reaches deep into her past and confronts her present. She is scrambling around with trying to remember the three missing days and what happened. What does this have to do with the current mystery? What does this have to do with her son? The suspense keeps building. The romance keeps building. One of my favorite aspects of the mystery is the romance has been building since the first book. It does not happen all in the third book. The suspense was tightly packed and had moments of angst with the Jane. Coble still crafts a story that captures the readers and has them flipping through the pages in a hurry. Overall, Three Missing Days was definitely what fans of romantic suspense are longing for when they open a Coble novel. Fans of her previous work or DiAnn Mills will enjoy this novel.

I have enjoyed this series, but part of me was ready for it to be done. Jane, the main character, was annoying. Her outbursts of anger left me dissatisfied, and her sense of righteousness just got old. The story hooked me however. I just wish Jane was better.

Three Missing Days concludes the exciting Pelican Harbor series satisfyingly tying up all the “loose ends”. Once again murder and mayhem rain down on the town of Pelican Harbor as Jane and Reid confront threats and legal actions from Reid’s ex-wife Lauren and cult leader Gabriel. Do the three missing days in Jane’s life hold the key to her reconciling with her past and securing a future with Reid and Will? The suspenseful plot twists and turns with life-changing revelations and surprises! The characters are well-developed and engaging. Faith flows freely throughout the story with spiritual truths regarding seeking and trusting God’s guidance and plan. A favorite quote: “Following God is a journey, not a destination.” I loved this book and series and highly recommend both.

Oh my, Colleen's books just keep getting better! This is book 3 in a wonderful series! Colleen Coble is so gifted to be able to write a series of with each book better than the last ones!
I don't want to be a spoiler, just start with the first one and enjoy! What a special treat to be able to read them back to back!

Three Missing Days is the third and final mystery in Colleen Coble’s Pelican Harbor Series. It is unnecessary to read all three books, but it certainly helps to know the story line.

A local woman, Gail Briscoe, has been murdered. It is a shocking and complex murder as there was quite a bit of controversy surrounding her lab, her acrimonious divorce, and the fact that she is being sued by one of her clients for falsifying a test. Gail was given a sedative and then her house was burned down. It also kills a local firefighter who was the one suing her.

As with most Colleen Coble novels, there are several stories intertwining. Lauren Haskell, Reid’s ex-wife, has come back to town. During a messy argument with Will, Jane and Reid’s 15yo son, Lauren falls into the bay and is found murdered the next day. Will is arrested and charged with Manslaughter. In addition, the cult that Jane and Reid were raised in has come looking for them and are staying on an island adjacent to Pelican Harbor. Could their arrival be linked to the murder of Lauren Haskell? Could their leader be trying to frame Will to get revenge? And who is behind it all?

Three Missing Days is quick paced. While Jane, the local police chief, is very admired, she cannot help with the investigation of her own son. She focuses on trying to find the person who is framing her son, while trying to solve the mystery of who murdered Gail Briscoe. What she doesn’t realize is how her past has followed her to her present and how both murders may be connected in more ways than one.

As we join the journey with Colleen Coble weaving us through flashbacks, uncovered murders, and complex relationships, the reader realizes that most characters have many layers to them, including the ability to lie and deceive. Jane and Reid’s relationship is stretched to the limit, while trying to save their son and ultimately escape the Cult that has molded their lives.

The conclusion of the Pelican Harbor series is exciting and has the reader cheering for Jane, Reid and their son Will. The genre of this book is Christian and there are many references to prayer throughout. Ultimately, the author knows how to pull the reader in by introducing many different characters throughout and keep the reader guessing until the shocking finale.

Well, Three Missing Days brings the Pelican Harbor trilogy to satisfying close! Plot-wise, it’s every bit as exciting and unexpected as the first two books, and holds a nasty surprise for Will... he’s in for a rough ride in this book! I won’t spoil what it is though! 😬

But I have to say I got a little bit over Jane by the end of the book. She’s just so overwhelmingly short-tempered and always assumes that she’s right and everyone else is wrong! And it got on my nerves after a while. And yes, she has had that personality throughout the whole series, but it seemed to get worse in this book...

Anyway, that’s really the only bad thing I have to say about it though! So overall, a solid conclusion to a great series and I enjoyed it immensely! If you’re already invested in this series, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed with this as the ending - it lives up to expectations for sure! And if you haven’t given this series a try, it’s certainly Colleen Coble’s strongest and well worth a read!

Book three and the conclusion of this series( I guess). It wraps up some loose ends and makes you not want it to end. It was action packed, fast paced and oh so good! I loved it! Definitely recommend!

Ah oops, I think I should have read these books in order as this was the third in the set and the conclusion. If I’d read the previous two books then some of the backstories and interlinks between the characters would have been easier to follow but as it was I managed to hitch along for the ride and still managed to keep up! The pace was fast and there was intrigue enough for me to keep page turning. I felt connected to the characters of Reid and Jane and the strained relationship with the ex wife. Facing the horror of trying to prove your child innocent of murder is every parent’s worst nightmare and this was well portrayed.

I came into this novel with a bad attitude. I initially tried to read it as a stand alone, was extremely confused, got a hold of the audiobook of the first novel in the series, disliked it...skipped the second book, and forced myself into this one.

There are a LOT of characters and a LOT of backstory. I know a couple people said that they can be read as a stand alone, I’m not sure I believe them. I had a lot of trouble in the first 10% of the novel and couldn’t figure out what was going on, hence why I took the time to listen to the first book. A slight improvement to my understanding, but still thoroughly disappointing. The premise of this book really hooked me and I felt let down when I actually began.

I also had trouble with the writing style. There are things that are just dropped in unexpectedly, a lot of repetition, segues into new places and conversations with no notice. Is it cause it’s an uncorrected copy? Maybe. I couldn’t get past it and had to frequently stop, reread and try to puzzle through what was being said. A bit of a killjoy for me.

What I liked? I was beginning to get into the investigations... There was an element of mystery that hooked me in, despite all the things I didn’t like about the book. I didn’t see the culprit coming, and that was nice.

The ending tied up the book nicely. It was a bit choppy in my opinion, but a decent ending. This series was not my cup of tea...and I’m not sure I vibe with what I’ve seen of this author’s writing style.

Three Missing Days is the final book in The Pelican Harbor series. I suggest that if you have not read the first two in the series that you read them in order. The mystery started in the first book which revolves around the cult is wrapped up in the third and final book.

Jane and Reid are growing closer in this book but his ex-wife Lauren is an obstacle. She disappeared out of his life for 7 years and was declared legally dead but she is claiming she is still married and is demanding a big chunk of his assets to go away.

Then the worst thing happens is that their son is accused of murdering a woman. They know he is innocent but they must work feverously to prove his innocence.

I stayed up late reading this book and read all but the last hour in one session. I highly recommend this book for all people who love romantic suspense.

I’ve read this entire trilogy and, though the premise was intriguing enough to make me persevere through all three books, ultimately I was disappointed. I found Three Missing Days to read like a rough draft. The elements for a compelling story were there, but the execution felt very unpolished, the characters two-dimensional, and the plotting rushed: At one point, a devastating tornado hits the small town where Jane is the police chief. We are told that several businesses are totaled, Main Street is covered in debris, etc., but by the next morning, Jane tells her (only) two officers, “Great job yesterday cleaning up after the tornado,” and they are on to the next plot point. No need to call FEMA. I want to emphasize again that Coble had a wonderful idea for a trilogy; I simply felt the manuscripts needed more TLC.

Three Missing Days does not disappoint! I've been waiting a year for this new book to come out. This current series by Coble sheds light on how deep and damaging cults really are. The longer one is out, the more they heal, but there are still triggers and reminders of the past that have to be dealt with.
This time, Jane Hardy must deal with her son being falsely accused of murdering his adoptive mother. Both Jane and Reid, Will's father, must find the truth to set their beloved son free. The deeper they dig, the more everything points back to their cult past. Even though Jane and Reid were children forced into the cult, the dark secrets follow them. Will truth win out? Read this intriguing but realistic look at the fall out from cult activity and never underestimate the power and the length those people will go, trying to hide their activities and punish those who have left and rejected their twisted beliefs.

How can I love reading a book that made me furious? That was this story. I am so invested in Jane, Reid, and Will. I just have jumped right into their story and there is so much healing and redemption. It just makes my heart feel warm and good!

I was SO. MAD. at what was happening to Will. Gah! That someone could do that do a kid makes my blood boil. I'd have been mad if Jane or Reid were the ones accused too, but not nearly as much (I don't think). I was sure it was <spoiler>Gabriel but it kind of was, indirectly</spoiler>.

We have a great ending to this series - <spoiler>Olivia doesn't have ALS and should be on the mend in time, Will is fine and dandy and dating Megan, Jane and Reid are married and EXPECTING A BABY!!!! I loved the proposal (it had me laughing) and this is just the culmination of redeeming the past </spoiler>.

Also, I cannot rave enough about how much I love the series crossovers. While Bree doesn't make an appearance in this series, we are tied in to Rock Harbor with Mount Sinai and the raid (so the Rock Harbor series takes place approximately 15 years before this series), Sunset Cove makes a cameo with Hotel Tourmaline, and even Alaska and Hawaii are mentioned!! We just are missing Hope Beach and Lavender Tides.

This book was everything! I loved the other two books in this series and this one wrapped everything up in a beautiful bow. The suspense kept me turning the pages. Jane and Reids relationship finally grew and movedforward, I absolutely loved how they ended together. And finally you see some vulnerability in Janes dad. This book also had a lot of twists and turns that I was not expecting. I am also finally glad we were able to meet Janes mom, although a sad situation, I am glad she was brought in. I loved that all of the stories intertwined with one another and at the end real justice prevailed.

I highly recommend this series. You will fall in love with the location and the characters, especially the dog Parker. Do not hesitate to pick up these books.

THREE MISSING DAYS was a compelling read. It took a while for all the important puzzle pieces to be set in place. Once done it moved fast. I enjoyed having something to look forward to after work.
