Ms. Shelton's Deadly Editions is the sixth book in the Scottish Bookshop series and was another entertaining and intriguing read from beginning to end.

I love visiting Edinburgh and seeing Delaney and the characters that inhabit her world. Tom, Elias, Aggie, Rosie and Hamlet all have a part to play in this book and add a richness to the story. These characters are so well developed now that I feel like I'm visiting with old friends when I open one of these books. The plot moves swiftly as Delaney must go on a treasure hunt through different pubs of Edinburgh. I loved visiting all of the different pubs as Ms. Shelton described them. A limited number of suspects, twists, red herrings and a dramatic reveal kept me turning the pages until, with a satisfied sigh, I reached the end. It's going to be a long year to wait for the next book in the series.

I loved Deadly Editions it was another fun mystery with the Cracked Spine group! The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde has Delaney curious. This one has a treasure hunt, Murder, and is full of secrets. I was swept away to Edinburgh along for the adventure. This series is one of my all time favorites and I can’t wait for the next adventure!

I really love this series, but I was a bit disappointed in this one. The treasure hunt seems ridiculous, and the totally random nature of the clues was baffling to me. Also, I love cooperation, but several of the treasure hunters working together and nobody trying to outdo each other just seemed weird. I like Delaney so much, but I found this title less engaging than the others in this series. I hope the next one is back up to the usual high standards.

Deadly Editions is a wonderful new book in the Scottish Bookstore Mystery Series. Delaney, Tom, her colleagues at the Cracked Spine Bookshop and other friends are all wonderful characters and I love the Edinburgh setting. Robert Louis Stevenson's eerie tale The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde is at the center of this mystery and the story is so well done. This series is one of my must reads and this one does not disappoint. I look forward to seeing what comes next for the crew! Thanks to #NetGalley for the opportunity to read an advance copy of #Deadly Editions.

This book was full of twists and turns, but I could not seem to get into the story. There were a lot of characters to keep track of throughout the book. I received an arc of this book from NetGalley and the publisher. All opinions expressed are my own.

I love treasure hunts so this was already a hit with me. Well then a bookshop. And Edinburgh. Plus a visit through some of the pubs. Could you go wrong?

The author didn’t. I have read other entries in this series and enjoyed the characters so this was a nice visit with old friends. The book moved a long quickly and even though I guessed who the culprit was there were enough twists to keep me satisfied.

Stevenson’s The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde plays a pivotal role in this story. Delaney probes the psychological implications of the story and it’s possible parallels to people and events in the story. It adds some substance that you don’t find in the average cozy.

I enjoyed the book. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC in return for an honest review.

Thanks Netgalley for allowing me to read this book. Delaney who owns a bookstore receivesca mysterious invitation for a treasure hunt. She is unsure on whether or not she should go. The prize was a rare book that she was interested in. This book kept me entertained from the beginning.

Bookseller Delaney Nichols receives a mysterious visitor one evening at the Cracked Spine Bookshop. He presents to her an invitation to an exclusive treasure hunt hosted by eccentric socialite Shelagh O'Connor. Delaney is intrigued, but also cautious: Shelagh has a reputation for her hijinks as a wealthy young woman in the '70s. She was even once suspected for the murder of a former boyfriend, though ultimately cleared of all charges. But Delaney is enticed by the grand prize at the end of the treasure hunt: a highly valuable first edition copy of The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, by Robert Louis Stevenson. The winner is also to receive the contents of Shelagh's vast library, and a sum of cash. The night after the first meeting of the treasure hunters, several homes in Edinburgh are robbed in a manner reminiscent of Shelagh's old tricks. And when a man connected to Shelagh is killed, suspicion builds. Then Shelagh disappears from her home, seemingly kidnapped by the villain.

DEADLY EDITIONS, the sixth book in the Scottish Bookshop Mystery series by Paige Shelton, is another terrific addition to one of my favorite series. The reader is treated to the enchanting city of Edinburgh, Scotland as seen through the eyes of American transplant, Delaney Nichols. I especially enjoyed how the plot revolved around pubs in the area and Ms. Shelton’s strong descriptions brings their quaint charm to life on the pages. I also think that Delaney has just about the best job in the world working as a bookseller/buyer for the Cracked Spine Bookshop and I would dearly love to spend time in such a place. She’s surrounded by a cast of delightful, well-developed characters who each contribute to the appeal and it’s been a pleasure getting to know them over the course of the series. It’s been gratifying seeing them grow and develop relationships, including a marriage between Delaney and Scottish pub owner, Tom. Delaney also has a unique gift in that she can hear “bookish voices” – quotes from books that provide clues to assist in solving a problem or a mystery. It adds to the focus of books and bookshops, and while I’m not familiar with the quotes used, I appreciate the addition.

In this newest release, the plot revolves around the theme of The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, by Robert Louis Stevenson. I loved how the author wove complex intrigue involving this classic dark tale into both an exclusive book treasure hunt and into a long ago unsolved murder and a current day murder. At the center of these crimes is eccentric wealthy Shelaigh O’Connor, owner of a vast book collection. Besotted with Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, Shelaigh created a scandal in her teen years by emulating some of the elements of the dark book. When a copycat appears and Shelaigh disappears, many wonder if she’s to blame for the crimes committed. As Delaney hunts for the treasured book and for Shelaigh herself, she uncovers clues to who had reasons to murder Shelaigh’s friend. As the multifaceted threads of the story came together, Ms. Shelton pens a suspenseful reveal that had me on the edge of my seat, turning pages faster and faster. My only regret was not savoring it longer since I’ll have to wait another year for the next book in the series.

Scotland, law-enforcement, murder, murder-investigation, abduction, family-dynamics, friendship, cosy-mystery*****

The publisher's blurb gives a good recap of the initial part of the story. The mystery is about the murder investigations which follow along the steps of the treasure hunt. It's a nice cosy with engaging characters, plot twists, red herrings, and SCOTLAND in winter. Well worth the read! This is only the second book I've read in the series, but that didn't detract at all.
I requested and received a free ebook copy from St. Martin's Press/Minotaur Books via NetGalley. Thank you!

Deadly Editions is a good cozy mystery by Paige Shelton. I love the cover. There are enough twists and turns in the storyline that kept my interest. I kind of figured out the bad guy, but the story was still enjoyable to read. I love the Scotland setting.

Deadly Editions is an enjoyable addition to the cozy series. I look forward to more books from this author.

Another great read in this series! The old lady with the overactive imagination was a hoot and it was comforting to check in with all our favourite friends. And, the ending was lovely, that little bit of will we ever know the truth. The mystery was fast and engaging, with some loops thrown in to keep you guessing.

This is a great cozy mystery novel that will appeal to all readers who enjoy a well written and fun whodunit. There are a lot of twists and turns that will keep you guessing until the very end. Both the characters and plot kept me interested and wanting to read more. I highly recommend this novel and can’t wait to read more from this author.

Delaney Nichols is one of four people invited to participate in a scavenger hunt that a local eccentric millionaire is hosting. With clues spread across Edinburgh, Delaney and Birk team up together, while the other two participants choose to go it alone. As they follow the clues, the host disappears from her home and a murderer and thief unleashes horror on the city. Now Delaney is questioning more than just the clues and wondering if there were other clues she was given that could help save Shelagh and solve both mysteries at once.

I love this American living in Scotland protagonist. The book quotes are always tied into the story line and the whodunit gives you plenty of red herrings to make your case for several suspects to be guilty before you narrow it down along with Delaney. This is a series I have enjoyed for awhile now and look forward to many more in the series.

Another engaging cozy by Paige Shelton in the Scottish Bookshop series. This one features an eccentric old lady with way more imagination than is good for her who sets up a treasure hunt with the grand prize of her extraordinary library.

The Scottish Bookshop series is like candy for me, and each one is sweeter than the one before. Deadly Editions is no different. Delaney, Tom, Aggie, Elias, Rosie, Edwin, and Hamlet are back for more mysterious and deadly shenanigans in the heart of Edinburgh.

The mystery here is a treasure hunt involving a priceless copy of The Strange Case of Dr.. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, and Delaney finds herself smack in the middle of another bookish mystery. The writing is sassy and casual, the characters are like old friends, making this book a winner for me.

I keep recommending Paige Shelton to mystery readers, and this one will be no different.

Thank you NetGalley for the advanced reader copy of Deadly Editions by Paige Shelton in exchange for an honest review. Delaney Nichols gets a note from a stranger. She is requested to meet Ms. O'Connor to discuss her rare books. Delaney works at The Cracked Spine in Edinburgh. She is originally from Kansas. She finds out that there is to be a treasure hunt. The winner will receive the entire library of Shelagh O'Connor. Shelagh did a Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde dress up when she was young. Now someone is doing the same. Delaney and several other people are looking for a special copy of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Shelagh is kidnapped and meanwhile there is the treasure hunt happening. This was a fun read. Having been to Edinburgh once, I love these stories. The way Paige Shelton writes, one can imagine being there. Would love to visit the bookstore. It was a hard book to put down and reminds me that I still haven't read the one before it yet, The Stolen Letter.

I enjoyed this book. It's fast paced with a lot going on. It's a good story and the characters are great. I wasn't that surprised by who the bad guy was. I had suspected it. I am intrigued by the ending though. #Deadly Editions #NetGalley
