Wow, this story just exploded from the first page right through to the last one. The extreme chemistry between Sallie & Jacob was an intense inferno that consumed them both. The drama & intrigue kept us on the edge of our seat as we watched as Sallie was stalked & terrorized by unknown assailants expecting her to lead them to the man they wanted, a man with no clue who she was due to amnesia from a traumatic brain injury. As we watched Sallie’s life crumble around her, we see Jacob claim her & as his dreams became clearer he realizes that she’s been in his dreams & mind for the last 6 yrs. The struggle to stay alive is real, as is the struggle to not fall in love with Jacob because losing him again might just be the end of Sallie this time. I enjoyed the humour of Jacob’s gram, her sass, grit & love for Jacob was great. As was the teasing friendship of the Culpepper brothers. I’m truly sad this story is done & am looking forward to more in this series. Definitely recommend. Thank you to St. Martin’s Press & Net Galley for allowing me to read this book for an honest review.

OMG, I loved this book. Have you ever read a book that you wish would never end because it was so good? This book has everything you could want in a book, sexy steamy scenes, drama, alpha male, strong female, passion, and sizzling hot scenes (oops, I already said that). The author writes a very engaging story from the beginning to the end. I absolutely enjoyed this book. Even though this book is part of a series, it can be read as a stand-alone. I would recommend this book.

I received an advance copy from NetGalley for my honest opinion.

Slightly better than the first one, but I am still not totally sure I will keep on reading this series, at last the sex scenes were better.

Leggermente migliore del primo, ma non sono ancora sicura se continueró questa serie, anche se le scene hot stanno leggermente migliorando.

THANKS NETGALLEY FOR THE PREVIEW!

This eARC was sent to me by NetGalley and St Martin's Press in exchange for a voluntary and honest review. My opinions are my own and not solicited. Lora Leigh has always written some hot and steamy books and this one is no different. I haven’t read a Cowboy book in quite a while. Though I loved Lora Leigh’s Breeds series so I thought I would try one out for a change. I felt this book took me on an emotional ride throughout which is what I want from a book. I felt everything that both Sallie and Jacob felt. I hated that Sallie was on the run until she finally found a safe place to land and that was where she found love again. I loved this book. Would recommend it to any romance fan.

What a fitting tribute to the late author Veronica Chadwick. I loved this series from the first book, who doesn't love a hunky cowboy, but the series always contained so much heart, and this continues strongly in the 2nd book.

Sallie has been fleeing from an unknown assailant for years now. Her step-father finally sent her to a small town to hide out amongst cowboys. She made an impact on Jacob Donovan on her arrival but she has always been "frosty" towards him although perfectly pleasant. That may have something to do with the torrid weekend they shared years ago which he has conveniently blanked from his mind! But instead of confronting him, Sallie just lays low and tries her best to fade into the crowd.

Jake obviously never got the memo cos the last thing he wants is Sallie to fade. He is haunted by dreams of a faceless woman who ties his emotions in knots. He thought he was only missing mission details from his head injury but what else could be missing? When danger comes for Sallie again, there is no way Jake is letting her run. She is his to protect, he just has to get to that!

Ex-CIA agent, naive diplomats daughter, hot steamy nights, a mission gone wrong, and miscommunication - they all mix into a wonderfully full, addictive, and heartbreaking story. Great cameos from gun-toting grannies, alpha male cowboys, and special agent veterans.

I truly hope this series continues and there are so many other characters worthy of books. Fabulous read!

I received this ARC for an honest review. I really don’t have much to say about this story except It’s really didn’t do much for me. I got bored only after a few chapters. It took me a while to finish it because I kept stopping to read other books.

If you’re looking for a story that’s heavier on steam and less on plot then this will make a great read. For me, I would have like to have seen more substance to the story rather than the overpowering sex scenes. Some of it was over the top and repetitive and it just made an unbalanced story for me. I ended up skimming a lot of the scenes. I’m all for some great sexy scenes but when it overtakes the storyline, I lose interest altogether. I also would have liked for there to have been more on the ending – an epilogue, follow up, something. Happy endings are always good, but it just seemed to stop and it felt a bit rushed.

For the characters, I really wanted to like them but I could not really connect to them – he was kind of a rude jerk and she was more of a pushover; I would have liked to see her with a bit more backbone. I enjoyed some of the minor characters more. I really liked Gram, she was a busybody with a fun sense of humor. There were also some timeline inconsistencies for Jacob and Sallie that had me confused and I had a difficult time following.

If you are looking for a good steamy read to pass the time, then this could be the story for you. But if you’re looking for one with a lot of depth and suspense to draw you along, then this read might not be for you.

I like Lora's books, I dont find that they have crazy drama, I dont feel jittery wondering what the heck is coming next, however that being said when I see one of her books I tend to grab it because I know it will be an enjoyable book and not make me crazy or too sad, which right now I dont need. Wit these two main characters you felt the chemistry and you were good at going along the ride with them. I liked but I hated not getting an epilogue, I know I know can't ask for to much, but was it too much to get me a little one or two page epilogue..that would be all that I could complain about Enjoy!

I received this Arc from Netgalley for my honest opinion. The reviews are my own.
Lora Leigh has done it again. This book is amazing. . The characters are perfect for each other and the romance is steaming. The dialogue is witty and tender and everything you could wish for in a book. I highly recommend this book.

I was really looking forward to this story so I was happy I was able to get into it pretty quickly. The authors created a compelling read that was set up to add a little bit of intrigue to the story.

Something substantial happened in the past between these two characters and we get a little peeks into the event here and there. Sometimes it was a bit frustrating trying to piece together the entire story and it wasn’t until the end that much of it came together for the complete story.

But regardless of what happened in the past, these two have a fiery connection today. The authors write a story rich with yearning and heat that seems to envelop the reader. That hidden thread that connects two hearts is beautifully designed.

I was deeply connected to the story they tell. There were a few places that I got a bit lost while piecing together their past. But their future looked blissful as Jacob recognized a kindred spirit in Sallie. His protective personality is put to the test as the past and the future blend together at last.

A heated romance with plenty of fire and passion make these pages sizzle.

This is the 2nd book in the Moving Violations series and I loved it. I have not read the 1st book in the series but I am definitely going to read it now. I enjoy books where there are secrets because I can't stop reading until the secret is out. This is a great read!

I enjoyed this book more than I thought that I would. It was still pretty steamy but it didn’t just happen out of the blue or so quickly. Jacob and Sallie didn’t jump right into a relationship. Granted, Sallie had a good reason but not sure why Jacob took his time. My main complaint was why Sallie wasn’t as forthcoming about circumstances as she should have been. All in all, this was one of the more entertaining books from Ms Leigh recently.

What can I say but WOW! I really enjoyed the story. Jacob and Sallie are such a strong set of characters that didn't want the story to end. A+

Strong, Silent Cowboy is a lustful romp of romantic suspense. Sallie Hamblen is on the run for her life. Her husband disappeared after serving her with annulment papers and then someone tries to kill her. Using her stepdad's money, Sallie disappears to a small town only to discover the man she lost her virginity to is a local rancher. With embarrassment, Sallie discovers Jacob does not remember her at all when he is all she thinks about. Years, later Sallie finally succumbs to Jacob's charms once again and danger comes calling once again. Now that Jacob remembers her, he never plans on letting her go again even as his former CIA background comes back to haunt him. The story is told through a lust filled haze as Jacob and Sallie try to circumvent danger. The suspense is good when the plot actually comes back into play but this book almost lost me with its too much sex to plot ratio. We all love a steamy scene but I like it when the plot is actually the central part of the story. This story would be perfect for readers who prefer steaminess to action. My voluntary, unbiased review is based upon a review copy from Netgalley.

Smokin' hot, hot, hot! The mystery is good too. Jacob is pure alpha and Sallie is a willing participate. This was a guilty pleasure read for sure.

I really wanted to like this one. One weekend affair and the guy doesn't remember years later - awesome. But the writing was jumbled and it seemed like the author head hopped a bit. And all the sex. I like the sex - but its not realistic for Sallie to always want him - no matter if he's been a jerk or not. It took me out of the story.

The story itself wasn't bad and I would love to see the Culpepper boys get books of their own, but only if the writing improves and the sex slows down a bit.

3 stars for me. This book had a lot of steamy sex scenes but that seemed to take over the whole storyline. Jacob and Sallie know each other from years before and find themselves in the same town 5 years later. The beginning scene of how they reconnected - hot. But the backstory of their previous meeting had inconsistencies....sometimes it was one weekend, sometimes it was 3 nights, and sometimes it was 1 night. But I also didn't know how every character was connected to each other until halfway through and even if this book is a series, it shouldn't be this difficult to figure out. And the conclusion to the storyline - why Sallie is being chased - didn't seem to have a great ending. I understood why she was being chased, as flimsy of a motive as it was, but why the specific individual/s was chasing her didn't seem that great either. It was just all a bit all over the place for me,

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the arc.

I received a complimentary copy of Strong, Silent Cowboy in exchange for an honest review. Overall, this was a great story with lots of drama, suspense, romance, and everything in between. I even found a few of the plot twists to be creative and well implemented.

Hopefully, this version of the book will go to editing one more time before it hits stores. There were a lot of editing errors especially in the beginning which was distracting. I also thought the storyline about Jacob's lack of recognition of Sally when they met in Switzerland to be redundant, and I was getting frustrated thinking, "just move along, I got it."

This was still worth the read and I would recommend to friends and family.

Holy freaking cow! This book was hot as heck and had me hooked from the very beginning. Imagine seeing someone that you shared a few intimate and passion filled days with but he doesn't remember you. My heart broke for Shellie. Oh but that is just a drop in the bucket. This book was filled with heat and danger. After Shellie and Jacob watched and danced around each other for three years they finally give into their desires. Shellie is afraid of her heart breaking again but now her life is in danger. Can Jacob save her, will she even allow him to? There was not a slow part to this book and I did not put it down.
